The Philippines Rainy Season Is Almost Here

In just 25 days, the rainy season will begin in the Philippines.

Last year, we were there when the rains came. And honestly, words alone cannot fully describe what we witnessed. It rained day after day after day. Roads disappeared under floodwaters. Entire homes were swallowed by mudslides. Families stood in water with nowhere to go. Children became sick while parents searched desperately for medicine they could not afford. Others simply ran out of food and had no idea where their next meal would come from.

It is one thing to read about these tragedies online. It is another thing entirely to stand in the middle of them and look into the eyes of people who have lost almost everything.

This is why we cannot wait until disaster strikes to prepare.

Right now, Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International is preparing to help provide emergency food, clean water, medicine, supplies, and spiritual encouragement to hurting families during the coming rainy season. But we cannot do this alone.

Somewhere tonight, a mother is already worrying about how she will protect her children when the floodwaters rise again. Somewhere, an elderly man is praying his fragile home survives another storm. Somewhere, families are hoping someone, somewhere, will care enough to help.

Maybe that “someone” is us. Maybe it’s you.
