“The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” — Proverbs 18:10

Life has a way of testing us. Some battles come without warning. Fear, uncertainty, sickness, financial pressure, broken relationships, and emotional exhaustion can leave us searching for somewhere to run.

Proverbs 18:10 reminds us that true safety is not found in money, people, possessions, or worldly security. It is found in the Lord.

In biblical times, a fortified tower was a place of refuge during attacks and danger. It was strong, immovable, and dependable. In the same way, God invites us to run to Him when life feels overwhelming.

“The name of the Lord” speaks of His character — His faithfulness, mercy, power, love, and protection. When we pray, worship, trust, and obey Him, we are running into that strong tower.

Being safe does not mean we will never face troubles. It means we never face them alone. God guards our hearts, strengthens our spirits, and gives peace in the middle of life’s storms.

Today, if anxiety, fear, or discouragement are weighing heavily on you, run to the Lord. He is still your refuge, your shelter, and your strength.

Lord, You are my strong tower and my place of safety. Help me to trust You more deeply and run to You first in every season of life. Fill my heart with peace, courage, and unwavering faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
