We Cannot Face Satan On Our Own Terms — Only Through the Cross
As Believers, we must never make the mistake of thinking we can confront Satan in our own strength, even by imitating how Jesus faced him during His earthly ministry. Jesus met the enemy as the sinless Son of God—perfect in obedience, unmatched in holiness, and without the corruption of sin that taints our human nature.
We are foolish to believe we can meet Satan on the same terms.
We are not Christ—we are His followers. And our power does not come from ourselves, but from what He has already accomplished on our behalf.
The only way of true escape from the enemy’s grip is not self-effort, religious works, or spiritual bravado. It is to look exclusively to the finished work of Jesus at the Cross—where the battle was decisively won, and where the enemy was eternally defeated.
At the Cross, Christ became our Substitute. Through His perfect life and His willing, sacrificial death, He conquered the powers of darkness on all counts. The apostle Paul writes:
"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His Cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it."
— Colossians 2:14–15
This is not mere theology—it is our lifeline.
Jesus didn’t just confront the enemy—He crushed him. And He did it for us.
So when you face spiritual battles, don’t lean on your own strength. Don’t meet the enemy on your own terms. Run to the Cross—where every accusation against you was silenced, every sin forgiven, and every power of darkness disarmed.
🙏 If you or someone you know is facing a spiritual battle, share this message. The victory has already been won—at the Cross. Don’t fight alone. Point them to Jesus.
