Established by Congress in 1952 and observed annually on the first Thursday of May, this special day serves as a national reminder that prayer still matters, faith still matters, and God still hears the cries of His people. Throughout America’s history, presidents, leaders, soldiers, pastors, parents, and ordinary citizens have turned to prayer during times of war, tragedy, uncertainty, revival, and hope.
