🌿 Guided and Strengthened 🌿 James Langston’s Daily Devotional, Words of Encouragement (4th Edition) 📖 Amazon, https://tinyurl.com/3ktfavr6 ”The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land . . . ” — [Isaiah 58:11] This promise emerges in the context of sincere devotion, compassion, and true fasting. When God’s people genuinely seek Him and serve others, He pledges continual guidance and sustenance, even in barren landscapes. The Lord doesn’t merely hand out temporary relief; He commits to meeting needs in an enduring way. Life often feels like a “sun-scorched land,” where we grapple with exhaustion, frustration, or uncertainty. Yet Isaiah 58:11 reassures us that God’s presence remains steadfast. He leads us through parched seasons, filling our thirsty souls with His life-giving grace. Our “frames” grow stronger as He nourishes us—spiritually, emotionally, and sometimes physically. This verse encourages a faithful posture: do we trust God enoug...

🌿 HERE I AM, SEND ME 🌿 From James Langston’s Words of Encouragement (4th Edition) 📖 Available on Amazon “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” — Isaiah 6:8 There are moments in life when God quietly places something on your heart: to help someone, encourage someone, forgive someone, speak up, step out, or trust Him in a greater way. Yet many people hesitate because they feel unqualified, broken, afraid, or unworthy. That is exactly what makes Isaiah’s response so powerful. After encountering the holiness of God, Isaiah became deeply aware of his imperfections. But instead of running away from God’s call, he surrendered himself to it. “Here I am. Send me.” God is not searching for perfect people. He is looking for willing hearts. Too often we think our past disqualifies us, our weaknesses limit us, or our fears make us unusable. But throughout Scripture, God consistently used ordinary people to...

🌿 SAFE IN THE STRONG TOWER 🌿 From James Langston’s Words of Encouragement (4th Edition) 📖 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DVT62NKF “The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” — Proverbs 18:10 Life has a way of testing us. Some battles come without warning. Fear, uncertainty, sickness, financial pressure, broken relationships, and emotional exhaustion can leave us searching for somewhere to run. Proverbs 18:10 reminds us that true safety is not found in money, people, possessions, or worldly security. It is found in the Lord. In biblical times, a fortified tower was a place of refuge during attacks and danger. It was strong, immovable, and dependable. In the same way, God invites us to run to Him when life feels overwhelming. “The name of the Lord” speaks of His character — His faithfulness, mercy, power, love, and protection. When we pray, worship, trust, and obey Him, we are running into that strong tower. Being safe does not mean we will ne...

🌿 Living with Compassion and Integrity — Words of Encouragement (April 21) ㅤ 📖 “I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.” — Job 29:15 ㅤ In Job 29:15, Job reflects on how he served others during seasons of blessing. He became a strength for the weak, a help for the helpless, and a hope for those in need. His life wasn’t just about what he had—it was about how he gave. This verse calls us higher. It challenges us to ask: Who am I helping? Who am I lifting? Every day presents opportunities to serve—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. A kind word. A helping hand. A listening ear. A prayer spoken in faith. In these moments, we become “eyes” for those who cannot see and “feet” for those who cannot walk. Job’s example reminds us that true service flows from humility, compassion, and integrity. We are not here to live for ourselves—but to reflect the heart of God in a hurting world. When we serve others, we don’t just meet needs—we reveal God. ㅤ 🙏 Prayer: Lord,...

📌 Question of the Week — April 16, 2026 From: Freya, 21 — Baton Rouge, Louisiana Question: “Hi Pastor James. I love your blog—it’s right on time. My question is personal, yet I believe it applies to everyone who calls themselves a Christian. I’ve tried to explain it to my friends, but the words just don’t come out right. Please help me: Why should I give my heart to Jesus Christ? ” Response: Freya, that’s a beautiful name. Thank you for your courage—and for trusting me with such an important question. You are not alone; many are asking the same thing. This question strikes at the very core of the Christian faith. To the non-believer, it often raises the question, “Saved from what?” To the believer, it reveals why Jesus came, why we trust Him, and what we are being saved into—not just what we are saved from. In a culture shaped by self-sufficiency, spiritual apathy, and moral relativism, the message of salvation must be shared with both clarity and compassion. Our world is fi...

🌿 God’s Sovereignty in the Smallest Details — Words of Encouragement 📖 “And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.” — Esther 10:1 (KJV) At first glance, Esther 10:1 may seem like a simple historical note about taxation. But when viewed through the lens of faith, it reveals something far greater— God’s sovereignty over every detail of history. Throughout the book of Esther, we witness God orchestrating events behind the scenes. Esther’s rise to the throne, Mordecai’s steadfast faith, and the dramatic downfall of Haman all point to a divine plan unfolding with precision. Even something as routine as a king imposing tribute reminds us that God is at work—not only in the extraordinary moments, but also in the ordinary. Just as God used the decisions of King Ahasuerus to fulfill His purpose, He is also working through the everyday circumstances of your life. Nothing is too small. Nothing is overlooked. God is always working—guiding your step...

🙏 When God Says No: Is It Wrong to Ask “Why?” We’ve all been there. We prayed. We believed. We trusted. Yet the answer we hoped for never came. In those moments, a question rises from deep within the heart: “Why, Lord?” Is it wrong to ask God why? No—it’s not wrong. It’s human. Throughout Scripture, faithful men and women asked God “why.” David cried out in the Psalms. Job questioned in his suffering. Even Jesus, on the cross, said, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” These were not acts of rebellion, but expressions of relationship. God is not afraid of your questions. He welcomes your honesty. But here is the key: there is a difference between asking “why” in faith and asking “why” in doubt. One seeks understanding while still trusting. The other questions God’s character. Sometimes God’s answer is “no.” Sometimes it is “not yet.” And sometimes, it is “I have something better.” What we must remember is this: God sees what we cannot see. His perspective is eter...

🌅 Good Morning — April 16, 2026 “ This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. ” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV) Good morning! As you step into this new day, remember—this day did not come by accident. It is a gift, hand-crafted by God, filled with purpose, opportunity, and grace. No matter what yesterday held—victories or setbacks—today is a fresh start. God’s mercies are new every morning. His strength is available. His presence is near. Take a moment before the noise of the day begins. Center your heart. Fix your thoughts on Him. Invite God into your plans, your decisions, your conversations, and even your challenges. Walk in faith. Speak life. Choose peace. Extend grace. And remember—you are not walking this day alone. 🙏 Morning Prayer Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of this new day. Thank You for Your mercy, Your love, and Your faithfulness that never fails. Lord, guide my steps today. Order my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Help me to wa...

The Rapture: What the Bible Says—and Why It Matters Now 📖 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout…” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18 What is the Rapture? The Rapture is the moment when Jesus Christ returns in the air to gather His Church—both the living and the dead in Christ—transforming them and taking them to be with Him forever. It is a promise of hope, not fear; of reunion, not separation. Why isn’t the word “Rapture” in the Bible? The term “Rapture” comes from the Latin word rapturo , meaning “to be caught up.” This is drawn from the Greek word harpazō used in 1 Thessalonians 4:17, which means “to seize” or “snatch away.” While the word “Rapture” is not in the English Bible, the event is clearly described. Who coined the term? The term developed over time through early Bible translations and theological teaching, particularly from the Latin Vulgate. It became widely used in Christian doctrine to describe this prophetic event. When will the Rapture occur?...

“No Other gods Before Me — A Quiet Warning We Often Miss” 📖 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” — Exodus 20:3 Did you know that anything can become a “god” in your life? Sometimes it’s intentional. Other times, it happens quietly… subtly… almost unnoticed. But the outcome is the same—you begin to place more importance on that thing than on your relationship with God. Many will shake their heads and say, “That’s absurd.” But facts are facts. How many parents will defend their children tooth and nail when they are wronged—yet remain silent when the Lord’s name is taken in vain? You may say, “That’s different.” But how? Others will place their faith and future in the hands of people—a doctor, banker, lawyer, teacher, boss, or even a spouse—but seldom take time to truly pray about it. It may seem small… even harmless. But when you begin to lean away from depending on the Lord in everything, you may soon find yourself not depending on Him for anything. “Not me,” you say. Tho...

🌿 Seeking God’s Favor Through Faithfulness — Words of Encouragement 🌿 ㅤ 📖 “Remember me, O my God… and wipe not out my good deeds…” — Nehemiah 13:14 ㅤ Nehemiah’s prayer is both simple and powerful. After faithfully serving, leading, and restoring what was broken, he turns to God—not for applause from people, but for acknowledgment from Heaven. He reminds us of a truth we often forget: God sees everything. In a world that often overlooks quiet obedience and unseen sacrifice, it’s easy to feel discouraged. You may serve, give, pray, and stand firm—yet feel unnoticed. But Nehemiah teaches us that faithfulness is never wasted. God does not measure as man measures. He looks at the heart. Our service to God is not about recognition—it’s about devotion. It’s about doing what is right when it’s hard, staying committed when it’s uncomfortable, and honoring God when no one else is watching. And here’s the encouragement: God remembers. Every act of obedience. Every sacrifice. Every mom...

💔 The Silent Struggle No One Sees Behind the smiles, the posts, and the daily routines, there is a quiet battle many are fighting—fear, anxiety, loneliness, and uncertainty. People are tired… not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. 📖 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) We live in a world full of noise, yet so many feel unheard. Surrounded by people, yet deeply alone. Connected digitally, yet disconnected personally. But there is hope. God sees what others miss. He hears what is never spoken. And He understands what words cannot express. If you are struggling today, you are not forgotten. You are not invisible. And you are not alone. Reach out. Pray. Speak.   The Power of a Praying Grandmother Over the years, I’ve heard countless testimonies that all seem to echo the same powerful truth: “I would not be here today had she not prayed for me.” That “she” is often a grandmother—faithful, steadfast, and unshaken in her belief that God hears and answers prayer. There is something sacred about a praying grandmother. She may not stand behind a pulpit, write books, or travel the world—but she knows how to touch Heaven. Quietly. Consistently. Powerfully. While others slept, she prayed. While others doubted, she believed. While others gave up, she held on. And long after her voice grew quiet, her prayers continued to speak. Lives were spared. Paths were redirected. Souls were saved. Not by chance—but by prayer. My book, GrandMamma’s Prayers (2nd Edition) ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DC6L74FR ), is more than a story—it is a testimony. It is my story. And if you had a praying grandmother, then in many ways… it is your story too. Because somewhe...

📖 Words of Encouragement – A Daily Devotional 🌿 The Dangers of Pride and Self-Interest 🌿 📖 “Wherefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?” — 2 Chronicles 25:15 In 2 Chronicles 25:15, we see King Amaziah make a troubling decision. After a great victory, instead of honoring the one true God, he turned to the gods of the Edomites—a people God had just defeated. His pride led him to misplaced trust, and it stirred the anger of the Lord. Amaziah’s story is a powerful warning. Success can quietly open the door to pride. When things go well, it becomes easy to rely on our own strength instead of God’s provision. But misplaced trust always leads to spiritual decline. God desires our full dependence—not only in hardship, but also in victory. True success is not found in what we achieve, but in who we honor....

📌 “Grandmama Said…” — 7 Timeless Sayings We Should Never Forget There’s something sacred about the wisdom of a grandmother. It doesn’t come from textbooks or trending opinions—it comes from years of living, loving, losing, praying, and enduring . And somewhere along the way, those simple sayings carried more truth than we realized at the time. Today, let’s pause and remember a few of those timeless words that still speak life: ✨ 1. “Baby, put God first in everything.” Before decisions, before relationships, before anything— seek God first . Everything else will fall into place. ✨ 2. “What’s done in the dark will come to the light.” Character matters. Integrity matters. You may hide things from people—but never from God. ✨ 3. “You reap what you sow.” Every choice is a seed. Sow kindness, faith, and obedience—and you’ll reap a harvest of blessing. ✨ 4. “Don’t let your feelings make your decisions.” Feelings change. Truth doesn’t. Learn to walk by faith, not emotion. ✨ 5. “Trea...

Just One More Soul “One more soul, Lord… just one more.” That is the cry of my heart—each hour of each day. Not fame. Not recognition. Not applause. Just one more soul reached with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Because one more soul means one more life transformed. One more family restored. One more name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. We live in a world full of noise, distractions, and brokenness—but the Gospel still saves. The message of the cross still heals. And time is still short. If this is your heart’s cry too— just one more soul —then let’s stand together. Arm in arm. Back-to-back. United in purpose. Unshaken in mission. Let’s pray for divine appointments. Let’s speak when God says speak. Let’s love people where they are. And let’s never grow weary in doing what matters most. You may never stand behind a pulpit—but your life can still preach. Your words can still reach. Your obedience can still change someone’s eternity. Just...
