Every Christian Needs a Pastor

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:11–13 that Christ gave gifts to the Church—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—for the perfecting of the saints and the building up of the body of Christ.

This truth reminds us of something many believers overlook today: every Christian needs a pastor.

A God-called, Christ-centered pastor is not merely a preacher behind a pulpit. A true shepherd is someone who prays for the flock, teaches the Word of God faithfully, warns of spiritual dangers, and lovingly corrects when believers begin to drift from truth.

I firmly believe that every pastor should also have a pastor, someone who can speak into their life, challenge them, and keep them accountable before God. No one is above correction, counsel, or spiritual oversight.

What often hurts the body of Christ the most is not persecution from the outside—it is un-teachable hearts on the inside.

When Christians become unyielding to instruction, resistant to correction, or dismissive of the discipline and guidance of the Holy Spirit, spiritual growth stops. Pride quietly replaces humility, and the unity Christ prayed for begins to fracture.

I say this not casually, but from more than 50 years of living for Jesus Christ and decades of watching the Church grow, struggle, and sometimes stumble.

Sadly, there are times when those outside the Church can see these things faster than those within it.

Church, we must remain humble, teachable, and willing to be shaped by God’s Word and His Spirit.

Let us remember this sobering truth:

God sees. God hears. God knows. And in His time, God will act.

May we be found faithful, humble, and submitted to the Lord and to the spiritual leadership He has placed in our lives.

Pray Without Ceasing — For Our Nation, Our Leaders, and Our World

In times like these, prayer is not optional for the believer—it is essential.

Every day, we are witnessing events unfold across the world that remind us how fragile peace can be. Conflicts in the Middle East continue to intensify, tensions between nations rise and fall, and uncertainty fills the headlines. Yet above every government, every conflict, and every moment of history stands the sovereign hand of God.

As Christians, we are called not merely to observe the times, but to pray through them.

Scripture reminds us in 1 Timothy 2:1–2 that we should offer supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all people; for kings and for all that are in authority. Whether we agree with them or not, our leaders need wisdom that only God can give.

Please do not forget to daily pray for:

• The United States and its future
Our national leaders and those making critical decisions
The ongoing conflicts in the Middle East
Our military and first responders
Families and communities around the world
One another, that our faith would remain strong

Above all, let us pray that the Will of the Lord be done.

God is allowing events and circumstances to unfold for a purpose far greater than we can fully see. Throughout history, moments of upheaval have often preceded great spiritual awakenings. Even in times of uncertainty, the Gospel continues to advance.

Many believe we are living in a moment where the message of Jesus Christ is being carried across the earth one more time with renewed urgency—reaching hearts, nations, and people groups who have never heard the Good News before.

This is not a time for fear.
This is a time for faith.

Let us be people of prayer, people of hope, and people committed to the truth of the Gospel. When believers pray, heaven moves in ways the world cannot explain.

Not My Will — But Thine Be Done

In Luke 22:42, Jesus prayed one of the most powerful and revealing prayers ever recorded: “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.”

Those words reveal something every Christian must eventually confront—the tension between our will and God’s will.

As believers, we must be careful that we do not unintentionally place ourselves—or others—on the opposite side of Truth. Jesus Christ declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Truth is not simply an idea; it is a Person.

It is not wrong for Christians to disagree about matters of opinion or perspective. But it is dangerous—and spiritually damaging—when we begin to prefer our will above God’s will.

Submission and surrender are two of the most difficult disciplines in the Christian life. Deep within us is the desire to control outcomes, manage circumstances, and direct our own path. Sometimes we even convince ourselves that we are doing God’s will when in reality we are protecting our own.

But the Christian life was never meant to be lived that way.

Scripture reminds us that we are “in this world, but not of this world.” Our calling is different. Our allegiance is different. Our priorities must be aligned with heaven rather than the shifting values of this present age.

God will warn us, guide us, and correct us—but He will not override our will. The choices we make still matter. The paths we choose still carry consequences. Yet God remains faithful to point us toward His purposes and His truth.

The question that echoes through every generation remains the same:

“Who is on the Lord’s side?” (Exodus 32:26)

May our answer always be the same as Christ’s prayer in Gethsemane:
“Not my will, but Thine be done.”

Giving Tuesday: A Small Gift Can Change a Life 🌏

Today is Giving Tuesday, a day recognized around the world as a moment to pause, reflect, and extend compassion to others. It reminds us that generosity—no matter the size—has the power to transform lives.

For many of us, life is busy and filled with responsibilities. Yet in other parts of the world, families are facing struggles most of us will never experience. In the Philippines, there are children who long for education, families who need basic medical and dental care, and communities that hunger not only for daily necessities, but also for hope and spiritual encouragement.

Through Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, we are working to reach those communities with both practical help and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our outreach includes missionary work, community support, medical and dental assistance, and programs designed to help children and families build a better future.

But we cannot do it alone.

Every prayer, every share, and every gift becomes part of something greater. What may seem small to us can become life-changing for someone else. A single act of generosity can help bring hope, healing, encouragement, and the message of Christ to those who need it most.

Today, on Giving Tuesday, we invite you to stand with us.

If the Lord places it on your heart, please consider supporting the ongoing mission work of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International. Together we can continue reaching lives, strengthening communities, and sharing the hope that never fades.

When Life Leaves You Without Answers — There Is Still a Way Forward

In seasons of uncertainty, confusion, frustration, and disappointment, many people find themselves standing at a crossroads asking the same painful question: “What do I do now?”

In his encouraging and deeply practical book What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do (2nd Edition), Christian author, missionary, and retired U.S. Navy veteran James Langston offers hope for those walking through the deserts of life.

Drawing from Scripture, real-life experience, and years of pastoral ministry, Langston reminds readers that moments of uncertainty are not the end of the road—they are often the place where God begins to work most clearly.

This powerful book helps readers discover how to:

• Remain steady when life feels unstable
• Seek God’s wisdom when direction seems unclear
• Trust divine guidance when human answers fall short
• Find peace even when circumstances refuse to cooperate
• Move forward in faith when the path ahead feels uncertain

Rather than offering quick fixes or shallow encouragement, the book points readers back to the timeless truth that God is still present—even when life seems confusing.

If you feel trapped in the deserts of life and unsure which direction to take next, this book may provide the clarity, encouragement, and spiritual strength you’ve been searching for.

Hope for the Philippines — Healing Hearts, Changing Lives 🇵🇭

Around the world, millions of people wake up each morning without access to basic medical care, dental services, education resources, or a local church that can minister to their spiritual and community needs. In many regions of the Philippines, families face these realities every day.

That is why Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International has launched a special campaign: “Hope for the Philippines: Healing Hearts, Changing Lives.”

Our goal is to raise $145,000 to expand life-changing outreach projects that bring both practical help and the message of hope found in Jesus Christ.

Through this campaign, we are working to provide:

🚑 Mobile Medical and Dental Vans
Many communities have little or no access to healthcare. These vans will bring doctors, dentists, and basic care directly to villages that otherwise go without treatment.

🎒 Adopt (Sponsor) a School-Age Child
Education opens the door to a brighter future. Sponsorship helps provide school supplies, basic necessities, and encouragement for children who might otherwise fall behind.

Tent Revivals and Evangelism
Across the Philippines, hearts are open to the Gospel. Tent revivals allow communities to gather, hear the Word of God, and experience the transforming power of Christ.

Church Headquarters and Community Projects
A central ministry location will help coordinate outreach efforts, discipleship programs, and community support initiatives for years to come.

This mission is about more than buildings or vehicles. It is about people—families who need hope, children who deserve opportunity, and communities ready to experience both compassion and the Gospel.

Every gift, large or small, helps bring healing, faith, and practical support to those who need it most.

If you believe in helping others and making a real difference, please consider supporting this campaign and sharing it with others.

A Silent Crisis — The Rising Tragedy of Youth Suicide in America

Across the United States today, a heartbreaking crisis is unfolding—one that rarely dominates headlines but is claiming young lives at an alarming rate. Suicide among children, teenagers, and young adults has become one of the most serious public health emergencies of our time. Doctors, psychologists, educators, and public health officials are sounding the alarm, warning that what we are seeing now is not only tragic but unprecedented.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide is now the second leading cause of death for young people ages 10–14 and 15–24 in the United States.

Even more troubling are the statistics behind the crisis:

• Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. high school students (20%) say they have seriously considered suicide.
About 1 in 10 report attempting suicide within the past year.
40% of students report persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness.

Researchers also note that suicide deaths among young people ages 10–24 increased by about 62% between 2007 and 2021, one of the most dramatic increases ever recorded in modern public health data.

These numbers are not abstract statistics—they represent sons and daughters, classmates, teammates, and friends whose lives ended far too soon.

Why Doctors Are Alarmed

Medical professionals are increasingly concerned because the patterns they are seeing today are different from previous generations.

For decades, traditional treatments—therapy, medication, crisis intervention—helped many struggling individuals recover. But many doctors and mental-health specialists now say they are seeing deeper levels of emotional numbness, isolation, and despair among young people, sometimes resistant to conventional treatments.

Experts point to several contributing factors:

Social media pressure and cyberbullying
Loneliness and social isolation despite digital connectivity
Family instability and economic anxiety
A cultural loss of purpose and identity
Exposure to trauma, online exploitation, or manipulation

Some specialists even warn that many young people today report feeling emotionally “numb,” disconnected from meaning, relationships, and hope—conditions that make treatment far more difficult.

The Deeper Problem

While medicine can address symptoms, it often cannot heal the deepest wounds of the human soul.

Loneliness.
Fear.
Hopelessness.
The quiet belief that life has no purpose.

These are not simply clinical problems. They are spiritual ones.

Suicide does not end suffering—it simply ends a life that still had hope, purpose, and possibility. And tragically, for the one who chooses this path, eternity is only beginning—an unimaginable reality no one should ever face.

The Answer the World Often Overlooks

There is an answer to loneliness, despair, and hopelessness—but it is not ultimately found on a psychiatrist’s couch or in a prescription bottle.

The answer is a Person.

Jesus Christ.

He is the One who said:

“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Jesus offers what this generation desperately needs:

• Identity when the world brings confusion
• Hope when life feels meaningless
• Love that never abandons
• Peace that surpasses understanding
• A purpose worth living for

He is not merely a religious idea—He is a living Savior, a faithful companion, and the One who walks with us through our darkest nights.

A Call to Pray, Speak, and Reach Out

Parents, teachers, pastors, coaches, and friends—this crisis cannot be ignored. We must talk about it. We must pray. We must reach those who feel invisible before despair convinces them they are alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please speak up. Reach out. Let someone know.

Life is precious. Every soul matters.

And there is always hope in Christ.
