Title: Tithing: Before the Law, Beyond the Debate

Let’s face it—tithing is one of the most controversial subjects in Christian circles today. Bring it up in conversation, and you’ll often hear things like:

  • “Tithing was under the Law.”

  • “We’re under grace now, not obligation.”

  • “The New Testament doesn’t command it.”

  • “I give, just not ten percent.”

And then there are those who just get uncomfortable when the subject of giving is even mentioned.

But before we toss out tithing as outdated, let’s pause. Take a deep breath. And open the Word, not just a can of worms.

Because here's the question that matters most:
👉 What does God say about it?

📜 Tithing Was Not Born in the Law

Contrary to popular belief, tithing didn’t begin with Moses—it began with Abraham.

Genesis 14:18–20“And he [Abraham] gave him tithes of all.”

This moment—Abraham giving a tenth to Melchizedek, the priest of the Most High God—happened hundreds of years before the Law was ever introduced. It was an act of honor, not requirement. Abraham wasn’t obeying a command—he was expressing gratitude and reverence.

Then we see Jacob, in Genesis 28:22, saying:

“...and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.”

Again—this was before the Law. Jacob vowed to return a tenth to God out of his own heart. That’s voluntary covenant giving, not legal obligation.

This tells us something powerful:
Tithing predates the Law.
Which means tithing wasn’t just a rule—it was a principle. A pattern. A response of the heart.

📖 What Did Jesus Say?

Many are quick to say, “Jesus never told Christians to tithe.” But let’s actually look at what He did say.

Matthew 23:23 (KJV)
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe… and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.”

In today’s language:
✔️ Do the right things—show justice, mercy, and faith.
✔️ But don’t stop tithing while you do.

He didn’t condemn tithing—He condemned hypocrisy. He upheld the tithe while calling for hearts full of compassion and righteousness.

💡 Why the Pushback?

So why is there so much resistance? Why the arguments?

Honestly, it comes down to this:
We don't like anything that challenges our wallets.
But Jesus knew this. That’s why He talked more about money than Hell.

Not because He was obsessed with wealth—but because He knew money reveals the true condition of our hearts.

Matthew 6:21“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

🤔 If the Word “Tithe” Offends You...

Here’s the bottom line:

If the word "tithe" gets under your skin, then call it something else.
Call it an offering.
Call it a covenant act.
Call it generosity.
But don’t let semantics stop you from honoring God with your substance.

The point is not legalism—it’s lordship.
Who is first in your life?
Where does your trust lie?
What kingdom are you building with what He’s given you?

🙏 Ask God. Then Obey.

Forget the opinions. Forget the Facebook debates. Forget the YouTube “experts.”

Get alone with God and ask:
“Lord, what would You have me do?”

And then—do it. Cheerfully. Faithfully. Worshipfully.

Because when you give from your heart, you're not just supporting a ministry—you're honoring your Maker.

📌 Final Thought:

Tithing is not about obligation.
It’s about honor.
It’s about obedience.
It’s about saying, “Lord, You’re first. Not just in word, but in my wallet.”

And for those still unsure, remember this:

Malachi 3:10“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts…”

God actually dares you to test Him in your giving.
How often does Scripture invite you to put God to the test?
That’s not manipulation. That’s a promise.

Title: One Word. Three Numbers. A Colon.

We don’t like to talk about death.
It makes us uncomfortable.
It reminds us of our limits.
It forces us to confront something we can’t outrun, outsmart, or outlive.

But here’s the truth:
You won’t live forever.
Neither will I.

It doesn’t matter who you are, what you own, what you believe, or how loudly you deny it—death is coming. And not just for someone else. It’s coming for you.

That might sound harsh, but it’s real.
And reality has no need to ask our permission.

Some believe in God.
Some say they don’t.
Some believe in Heaven.
Others scoff at the idea of Hell.
Some believe that this life is all there is, and that when we die, we simply cease to exist.

But let me ask you:
What if you’re wrong?
What if there is something after this life?
What if eternity is not a myth, but your next destination?

There’s one question that all of humanity, at some point, wrestles with:
👉 “What happens after I die?”

It’s the question whispered in hospital rooms.
It’s the fear buried under laughter at funerals.
It’s the uneasy thought that haunts even the most confident unbeliever.
And while philosophers debate it, science avoids it, and religions contradict one another about it—Jesus answers it with clarity:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
— John 14:6 (KJV)

One word.
Three numbers.
And a colon.
That’s your answer: John 14:6

Not just a Bible verse—a life-changing declaration.

Let’s break it down:

  • “I am the way” – Not a way. The way. No detours. No shortcuts. No substitutes.

  • “The truth” – Not subjective truth. Not relative truth. Eternal, unchanging, divine truth.

  • “The life” – Not just existence. Not just breath in your lungs. Jesus offers abundant, eternal life.

  • “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – No one gets to God without Jesus. Not by good works. Not by religion. Not by intention. Only by grace through faith in Him.

So, back to the question:
What happens after you die?

That depends on what you do with Jesus before you die.

Eternity is too long to be wrong.
Don’t bet your soul on a guess.
Don’t risk forever on your feelings.

Choose truth. Choose Christ. Choose life.

If you’ve never made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, I urge you—right here, right now—to do so. Don’t wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow isn’t promised. But eternity is.

Title: One More Soul, Lord… Just One More

“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” — Matthew 11:15 (KJV)

For the past several months—and most intensely over the last few weeks—there has been a stirring in my spirit that I simply cannot ignore. A holy restlessness. A spiritual urgency. An unmistakable awareness that time is short. Not in a vague, someday sense—but in a now kind of way.

On more than one occasion, this urgency has awakened me in the stillness of night. I've found myself praying and crying out to God through tears:
"Lord… please, just one more soul. Help me reach one more soul with the gospel of Jesus Christ."

And maybe you're feeling it too.
A tug.
A pull.
An ache in your spirit that says, “We’re running out of time.”

This isn’t about fear—it’s about faithful obedience. It’s about eternal priorities. It’s about fulfilling our divine assignment to preach, to teach, and to reach the lost before it's too late.

We no longer have the luxury of saying:
“I’ll get to it later.”
“One of these days.”
“I’m still waiting on the right moment.”

The hour is late. The stakes are eternal.
The enemy is busy—and bold.
But God’s people must be awake, alert, and anointed for such a time as this.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8

We are the ones entrusted with the message of hope.
We are the voices crying out in the wilderness of this culture.
We are the watchmen sounding the alarm.

So I ask you, as I ask myself:

🔸 Will you pray with urgency?
🔸 Will you share the truth without apology?
🔸 Will you go after the one—that one prodigal, that one lost soul, that one wandering heart?

The harvest is still great. The laborers are still few.
But the call remains:
"Go ye therefore…"

Let’s not be casual with what’s eternal.
Let’s not be silent while souls are slipping away.
Let’s not wait until “tomorrow,” because eternity is today’s business.

Title: The Power of Fellowship in a Time of Isolation

Posted by Pilgrim Outreach Ministries

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)

In today’s fast-paced and increasingly digital world, it has become all too easy for Christians to withdraw from one another. Church attendance is down in many places. Spiritual isolation is on the rise. And for some, the idea of “doing church” online or on their own has replaced the biblical model of corporate worship and face-to-face fellowship.

But Hebrews 10:25 reminds us of a divine imperative: Don’t forsake gathering together. Why? Because we need one another. We were not created to walk this journey of faith alone.

The author of Hebrews connects this call to fellowship with a sense of urgency—"as you see the Day approaching." That “Day” is the return of Christ. In a time of spiritual decline, cultural confusion, and increasing deception, we need each other more, not less.

🛐 Church Is More Than a Building

Attending a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching, Holy Spirit-filled church isn’t just a spiritual obligation—it’s a source of strength, joy, and spiritual sharpening. Proverbs 27:17 says:

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

In the fellowship of the saints, you’ll find encouragement in your trials, accountability in your struggles, and inspiration for your calling. The right church family doesn’t weigh you down—it lifts you up.

✝️ Why Fellowship Matters

Here are just a few reasons why gathering together with other believers is essential:

  • Encouragement in tough times: Sometimes the Word you need won’t come from a podcast, but from a hug, a prayer, or a conversation with a fellow believer.

  • Accountability and growth: Fellowship helps us stay sharp in our convictions, habits, and character.

  • Spiritual covering and guidance: A Bible-preaching church offers the oversight and instruction we need to stay grounded in truth.

  • Unity of purpose: Together, we pray, serve, and share the Gospel more effectively than we ever could alone.

  • Witness to the world: A unified, loving body of believers is one of the most powerful testimonies of the Gospel.

🙌 Stay With the Body

If you are currently attending a church that teaches the truth, honors the Word of God, and flows with the Spirit of God—stay with them. You’re in a blessed place. And if you’re still searching, don’t give up. Ask God to lead you to a community that will challenge and grow your faith.

Remember, the enemy loves to isolate—because isolation weakens. But God calls us to assemble—because fellowship strengthens.

👥 Final Thoughts

Don’t let discouragement, distraction, or disappointment pull you away from God’s people. Yes, no church is perfect. But the Bride of Christ is still His plan for the earth.

Keep assembling. Keep exhorting. Keep growing—especially as you see the Day approaching.

Title: The Surprising History Behind “God Bless You” — And Why It Matters

Posted by Pilgrim Outreach Ministries
🔗 pomitaly.homestead.com

We’ve all heard it, and most of us have said it—“God bless you” or simply “Bless you” when someone sneezes. It's a reflex in many cultures, often spoken before the sneeze has even settled in the air. But have you ever stopped to ask yourself, why do we say that? Is it just good manners, or is there more to this age-old custom?

According to the Library of Congress and various historical records, this seemingly minor phrase carries a long and layered history, with roots in ancient fears, cultural superstitions, and moments of genuine compassion during dark times in human history.

🦠 The Plague and Divine Protection

One of the most widely cited origins traces back to 6th-century Europe during the time of the bubonic plague. Sneezing was believed to be an early—and often fatal—symptom of the illness. Pope Gregory I reportedly encouraged people to say “God bless you” as a spiritual safeguard, asking God to protect the sneezer from imminent death. In a time when medical knowledge was limited, invoking God's protection became a reflex of both mercy and desperation.

💨 When Sneezing Meant Soul Trouble

In some early cultures, it was believed that sneezing expelled the soul from the body, leaving a person spiritually vulnerable. The phrase “God bless you” was meant to either call the soul back or keep it from drifting away. Others believed the sneeze gave a brief opening for the enemy of our souls to enter in, prompting people to speak a blessing as a protective declaration over the person.

👻 Warding Off Evil Spirits

Tied closely to the above theory is the ancient belief that sneezing could open a person up to spiritual attack. The phrase “bless you” was not simply polite—it was a way of shielding the person from evil forces believed to linger nearby. This may sound strange to modern ears, but in a time when spiritual warfare was more openly acknowledged in everyday life, such words carried weight.

❤️ Does the Heart Really Stop?

A lighter (though scientifically debated) belief suggests that a sneeze causes the heart to stop momentarily. Whether that’s biologically accurate or not, many used the blessing as a way to say, “Glad you’re still with us!” It was a verbal way to express concern for the sneezer’s well-being.

🌿 A Tradition of Care

Over time, saying “bless you” became more about courtesy than conviction. It evolved into a cultural norm—just something people say. In fact, most people who say it today may not believe in any of the above reasons. But here’s where it gets interesting.

As believers, we’re reminded that even idle words carry weight (see Matthew 12:36). So while this habit may seem harmless, it serves as a gentle reminder to think about what we say, and why we say it. Are we offering a genuine blessing or simply echoing tradition? Are we invoking God’s name with intent or out of habit?

✝️ Words with Purpose

It’s not wrong to say “God bless you.” In fact, it can be a powerful moment to speak life and kindness into someone’s day—especially when done with sincerity. But like all things in our Christian walk, we are called to live and speak with purpose.

In a world where God's name is often used without thought, let us be mindful that our words reflect the Kingdom we represent. Whether in blessing, in conversation, or in casual moments like a sneeze—let our speech be seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6).

So the next time you say “God bless you,” pause for a moment. Mean it. Speak it in faith. Let your words carry the weight of Heaven.

Title: A Global Calling, A Personal Responsibility
Subtitle: Reaching Asia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel…” – Mark 16:15

When Jesus gave this Great Commission, He didn’t address just pastors, missionaries, or evangelists. He was speaking to every believer.

So we ask—not as a question, but as a call to action:
Whose responsibility is it to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, teach the truth, train disciples, and share the gospel with a broken world?

Yours? Mine? No—it’s all of ours.

The truth is urgent. Jesus is coming soon. And as the signs of the times grow clearer, the harvest grows riper. This is not the time for spiritual passivity. This is the moment to step out in faith and compassion and reach those who have not yet heard.
