LIFE IS FRAGILE — DON’T WASTE THE TIME YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN

“Yet You sweep people away in the sleep of death—they are like the new grass of the morning: In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered.” — Psalm 90:5–6

Life is fragile.

We hear those words often, spoken by both Christians and non-Christians alike, because deep down we all recognize the truth of them. No matter our background, wealth, education, status, or beliefs, every one of us is living on borrowed time.

The moment we are born, though tender and full of promise, we begin the slow journey toward eternity. Every sunrise is a gift. Every breath is mercy. Every passing day brings us one step closer to the reality that this life, as we know it, will not last forever.

That may sound uncomfortable to some, but truth often is.

Psalm 90 reminds us that humanity is like grass that flourishes briefly in the morning and withers by evening. We are like shadows that appear for a moment and then fade when the light grows dim. The years move quickly. Childhood becomes adulthood. Strength becomes weakness. Yesterday becomes memory.

And yet, in the middle of life’s fragility, there is hope.

The brevity of life should not drive us to fear — it should drive us to purpose. It should move us to love deeper, forgive quicker, pray harder, serve faithfully, and seek God while He may be found.

One day, the titles, applause, possessions, and accomplishments of this world will fade away. But what we did for Christ, the lives we touched, the kindness we showed, and the souls pointed toward God will matter forever.

So today, slow down long enough to remember:
Life is not promised.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
But this moment is a gift from God.

Live wisely.
Love genuinely.
Forgive freely.
And never forget that eternity is far longer than time.
