πŸ“– Why Is the Name of Jesus the Only One They Mock?

By James Langston

There’s a question that keeps pressing on my spirit—one that I believe every believer ought to ask:

Why is the name of Jesus Christ so ridiculed, mocked, maligned, lampooned, and lambasted?

You can scroll through social media, flip through films, read comments online, or sit in on classrooms—and you’ll hear it. The world doesn't hesitate to use the name of Jesus as a punchline, a curse word, or a cultural controversy. Yet strangely, you don’t hear the names of Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius, or any other so-called “spiritual figures” dragged through the same mud.

So again I ask—why Jesus?

Because His name still holds power.
Power that convicts hearts.
Power that exposes lies.
Power that frees captives.
Power that leads people to truth—real, eternal truth.

And that truth is offensive to the darkness of this world.

✝️ The Closer We Get to the End…

As we approach the closing chapters of this age, there is a growing, coordinated push—both spiritually and culturally—to erase Jesus from the conversation and replace Him with something more palatable, more progressive, more pliable.

Modern society wants spirituality without a Savior.
Morality without repentance.
Healing without holiness.

But Jesus doesn’t fit into that mold.
He doesn’t conform to culture.
He confronts it—with love, with authority, and with divine clarity.

No wonder the enemy targets His name so violently.
Because the name of Jesus is the only name that can save.
And Satan will do everything he can to keep people from calling on it.

πŸ“œ John 14:6 – The Boldest Declaration Ever Made

Jesus said it plainly and unapologetically:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
(John 14:6)

Some call it exclusive.
Others call it arrogant.
I call it hope.

There aren’t five ladders to God.
There aren’t multiple paths that all lead to eternal life.
There is one road, and it is paved with mercy, truth, and the blood of the One who dared to die for us.

That’s not narrow-minded—that’s love defined.

πŸ”₯ The Mockery Is Evidence of the Message

We shouldn’t be surprised when the world mocks His name. Jesus Himself told us it would be so:

“You will be hated by all for My name’s sake.”
(Luke 21:17)

The mockery is not proof that His name is weak—it’s evidence that His name still shakes the gates of hell.
It still disturbs the darkness.
It still calls men and women into the light.

πŸ•Š️ A Name Like No Other

The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:9–11:

“God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name that is above every name…”

And that every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord.

This isn’t religious preference.
It’s eternal reality.

So when you hear His name mocked, don’t shrink back—lean in.
Speak His name louder.
Worship Him deeper.
Proclaim Him bolder.

Because His name is our hope.
And there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

πŸ•―️ The Echo of a Grandmother’s Prayer: A Legacy That Lives On

By James Langston

There are some people who shape your life so deeply that their presence becomes a part of your spiritual DNA. For me, that person was my great-grandmother.

I spent countless hours by her side—watching, learning, and absorbing wisdom that no textbook could ever teach. But it was her prayers that marked me the most. Not loud or showy, but powerful and persistent. The kind of prayers that you feel deep in your bones. The kind that softened even the hardest parts of my heart and slowly opened me to the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

She taught me how to pray… and how to live.

She taught me that love wasn’t just an emotion—it was a commitment. That friendship required loyalty. That real strength wasn’t about domination, but about kneeling in prayer when others would walk away. Her kitchen smelled like cornbread and faith, and her words had weight.

Over the years, I’ve met so many others who’ve said the same thing:

“I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for my praying grandmother.”

That’s not an exaggeration. That’s legacy.

And oh, the things they used to say—pieces of poetic truth, passed down through generations like spiritual heirlooms:

πŸ—£ “Every goodbye ain’t gone, every shut eye ain’t sleep.”
πŸ—£ “Every grin ain’t a friend.”
πŸ—£ “Don’t let the right hand know what the left one is doing.”
πŸ—£ “All skin folk ain’t kinfolk.”
πŸ—£ “Everything good to ya ain’t good for ya.”
πŸ—£ “You made your bed, so lie in it!”
πŸ—£ “A hit dog will holler.”
πŸ—£ “Everything that glitters ain’t gold.”
πŸ—£ “If that man doesn’t treat you right, tell him to put two eggs in his shoes and beat it!”
πŸ—£ “Keep a prayer on your lips.”

We laughed at some of them. We pondered others. But looking back, nearly all of them were rooted in experience, wisdom, and hard-earned faith.

These weren’t just sayings—they were survival strategies. They were guardrails for a generation navigating racism, poverty, betrayal, and hardship—with nothing but prayer and perseverance as their weapons.

That kind of faith doesn’t die. It echoes. It moves forward into the lives of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—like me. Their hands may be gone from this earth, but their fingerprints are all over our lives.

πŸ“š You can read more of my great-grandmother’s story in my book, The Will to Succeed (2nd Edition). Her legacy lives on in its pages, just as it lives on in me.

So today, if you had a praying grandmother—or are one—know this:
Your prayers still matter. Your faith still speaks. And your impact is eternal.

πŸ‘️ GLANCE – A New Thriller by James Langston

What If One Glance Could Change Everything?

There are moments in life that change us forever. For Dr. Eugene Karl Howard, that moment came after a near-fatal accident—when he woke up with an inexplicable ability: he could suddenly see genetic anomalies in the people around him, just by looking into their eyes.

At first, he believes it’s a miracle. A gift. A way to help and heal.
But what he sees soon leads him down a dark corridor of hidden experiments, population-level genetic manipulation, and buried secrets powerful people will do anything to protect.

🧬 A Storyline Rooted in Today’s Questions

In a world captivated by medical breakthroughs, digital surveillance, and artificial intelligence, Glance raises a chilling and timely question:
What happens when the line between medical advancement and moral accountability disappears?

As a mystery-sci-fi faith-based thriller, Glance isn’t just entertainment. It’s an invitation to think. To question. To pray. And to remember that behind every life is a design… and behind every design is a Designer.

πŸ“– Meet the Man at the Center of the Storm

Dr. Eugene Karl Howard is no superhero. He’s a widowed father, a gifted medical director, and a man who’s just trying to raise his daughter in peace. But when he discovers his “gift” also exposes unspeakable human corruption, he must decide:

  • Will he stay silent to protect his safety?

  • Or will he risk it all to expose the truth?

The cost of standing up could be everything.
But the cost of silence could be even more.

✝️ A Story with Spiritual Echoes

Though fictional, Glance draws from deep biblical principles:

  • The battle between light and darkness

  • Truth as a weapon against deception

  • The courage to speak when silence is comfortable

  • The weight of stewardship over knowledge

This is a book for believers who enjoy compelling storytelling with spiritual substance, and for seekers who want something more than surface-level fiction.

  • A woman navigating loss, trauma, or spiritual confusion, or

  • A believer searching for proof that God still redeems broken places

This book was written for you.

πŸ’¬ What Readers Are Saying

“Every page made me feel seen. These aren’t just stories—they’re lifelines. I kept whispering, ‘This is me.’”
M. Douglas, Charlotte, NC (USA)

“I sat down to skim a few pages and ended up reading the whole book in two days. It reminded me that redemption is real—even for the broken.”
S. Harper, London, UK

✝️ A Message From the Author

“These women have lived through what many don’t survive. They are mothers, mentors, ministers, and fighters. Their stories are not just about surviving the storm—they’re about rising in the middle of it. I pray this book reaches the weary, the wounded, and the wondering—and reminds you that with God, you too can make it.”
James Langston

πŸ™ˆ Are You Ashamed of Jesus Christ?

When Good Isn’t Good Enough, and Faith Must Be More Than a Facade

We’re living in a time of blurred lines.

The moral compass of society is spinning, and so is our ability to discern who truly follows Jesus Christ. It’s becoming increasingly complex to distinguish the Christian in conviction from the Christian in camouflage.

We’re reminded of the old Memorex cassette commercial that asked, “Is it live, or is it Memorex?” Today, the question is:
Is it real faith… or just a religious performance?

✅ What Looks Like Christianity… But Isn’t

You might go to church.
You may avoid the “big sins” like lust, greed, envy, wrath, gluttony, sloth, or pride.
You might treat your family right, drink responsibly, and keep your promises.

These are admirable traits, yes—but none of them make you a Christian.

Being moral does not equal being born again.
Being kind does not equal being Kingdom-minded.
Being "good" is not the same as being saved.

✝️ What Defines a Christian?

According to Scripture, a Christian is:

πŸ”Ή One who has admitted they are a sinner
πŸ”Ή One who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God
πŸ”Ή One who has confessed Him as Lord of their life
πŸ”Ή One who has been transformed from the inside out
(Romans 10:9–10)

It’s not enough to look like a follower. You must become one.

Jesus isn’t just Savior—He must be Lord.
He must own your decisions, your desires, your destiny.

πŸ”₯ A Soul Check for the Last Days

Let’s be honest with ourselves:

  • Has Jesus truly taken residence in your heart?

  • Have you ever personally led someone to salvation?

  • Do you hate sin, not just avoid it?

  • Are you striving, by God’s grace, to walk in holiness, not just in public decency?

  • Do you share the whole Gospel with your friends—or only the parts that won’t offend them?

These questions demand urgent answers.
Because the time is short.
Jesus is coming soon.

The days of lukewarm faith are over.
This is the time to be bold, unashamed, and unmistakably His.

🧭 A Final Word

Don’t be a silent saint.
Don’t live incognito in a world desperately needing light.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” – Romans 1:16

If Jesus died for us publicly, why would we live for Him privately?

πŸ•―️ Make today the day you draw a line in the sand.
Step out of hiding. Step into your calling.
Don’t just be a Christian in word—be one in power.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ We Inscribed "In God We Trust"... But Forgot to Inscribe Him on Our Hearts

There is a stillness in the air—one that feels like the quiet before a storm.
And yet, the storm is already here.

We are a nation paralyzed with fear—fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of truth, and most of all, fear of surrendering to the God we say we trust.

Everywhere you look, people are fighting for a cause. We protest, we post, we shout, we sign. But after the banners come down and the speeches end, we’re still losing the battle.

Why? Because we’ve forgotten that true change doesn’t begin in Washington—it begins in the heart.

⚠️ The Real Crisis

We’ve lost faith in our leaders, yet we’ve stubbornly refused to put our faith in the Lord of Lords.

We’ve etched “In God We Trust” into our currency…
but not into our conscience.
Not into our culture.
Not into our character.

We want revival without repentance, progress without prayer, blessings without obedience.

Many cry out to bring back the Ten Commandments, but as necessary and foundational as they are, doing so without acknowledging the God who spoke them is like placing a bandaid on a broken dam.

“Returning to the Ten Commandments without returning to the God who gave them is as futile as sticking your finger in a dike that is bursting.”

πŸ”₯ What We Truly Need

It’s time we return not to principles alone, but to a Person
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The Father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Not just to a creed, but to Christ Himself.
Not to religious tradition, but to radical surrender.

πŸ•Š️ A Cry for Mercy

O God, help us.
Shake us from our apathy.
Break through our pride.
Restore what the years of rebellion have stolen.
Let us not perish in a storm of our own making.

Let this not be another day of drifting—but the day we return.

✝️ May we turn our eyes once again to the Cross.
Because it is only by His wounds that we are healed.

πŸ“– Let Us Not Forget

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” – Psalm 33:12
