Train the Child Before the World Does

Proverbs 22:6 gives parents one of the clearest instructions in all of Scripture: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This verse is not merely a suggestion—it is a divine warning and a sacred responsibility.

Children are not born with wisdom. They are shaped by what they see, what they hear, and what they are taught. If parents do not intentionally train and season their children in the ways of the Lord, the world will gladly step in and do the training for them. And the world rarely leads a child toward God.

Over the years, I have met parents who believed they were doing the loving thing by leaving the decision entirely up to their children—letting them decide what path to take in life, what values to follow, and even whether faith in God mattered. What they did not realize is that by stepping back, they had unknowingly surrendered their God-given authority and influence.

A parent’s voice carries tremendous weight in the early years of a child’s life. But when guidance is withheld, discipline is avoided, and spiritual instruction is neglected, that voice slowly fades. Eventually, the influence that once shaped the child becomes little more than an echo of what once was.

I often say, “If you don’t train them, they will train you.” Without guidance, boundaries, and truth, children quickly learn how to control the household rather than grow within it.

Many parents will sacrifice almost anything for their children—and that is admirable. Yet love without wisdom can become harmful. When parents continually give without guiding, correcting, or requiring little, they often discover a painful truth: after everything has been given, the child is not better—but worse.

God entrusted children to parents not only to love them, but to lead them. Training a child means teaching them character, responsibility, humility, and above all, reverence for God.

The world is already competing for the hearts and minds of our children. The question is not whether they will be influenced—but by whom.

Parents must lead while there is still time.

Today, God has opened doors for the Gospel in the Philippines and across Asia. Communities are hungry for hope, truth, and the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Through evangelistic outreach, humanitarian aid, and partnerships with local believers, we are seeing lives touched and hearts turned toward God.

But here is a truth many people do not realize:

No missionary goes alone.

Only a few will ever step onto a plane and travel across oceans to preach the Gospel in another country. Yet when you pray, support, and partner with a ministry, you become part of that mission.

When you stand with Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International:

• Your prayers help open spiritual doors
• Your faith strengthens the work on the mission field
• Your financial support helps bring the Gospel where it has not yet been heard

In God’s eyes, you are not just a supporter.

You are a partner in the Great Commission.

Together we can help:

• Reach communities across the Philippines with the Gospel
• Support evangelistic outreaches and tent meetings
• Provide humanitarian assistance to those in need
• Encourage local pastors and churches
• Bring hope to families searching for truth

The harvest is great, but the laborers are few. Yet when believers join together, the reach of the Gospel multiplies far beyond what any one person could accomplish alone.

🙏 Please pray for this ministry.
🙏 And if the Lord places it on your heart, consider partnering with us.

Please help us help them.

Because somewhere in the Philippines today, someone is waiting to hear about Jesus Christ.

A Life of Service — Pastor James Langston

Some lives are defined by titles. Others are defined by service.

James Langston is a man whose life has been shaped by faith, family, and a lifelong commitment to serving others.

He is a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, missionary, author, and Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International—a ministry devoted to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.

Before entering full-time ministry leadership, Pastor Langston served 27 years in the United States Navy, faithfully defending the freedoms many enjoy today. That season of service instilled in him the discipline, courage, and commitment that would later define his ministry.

After his naval career, he continued his mission of service—this time in a spiritual capacity—dedicating his life to preaching the Gospel, encouraging believers, and reaching people with the message of Jesus Christ.

As Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, Pastor Langston has spent decades sharing the Good News through preaching, writing, global outreach, and humanitarian work. The ministry today is actively involved in evangelistic outreach and community support in the Philippines and across Asia, bringing hope, practical help, and the message of salvation to communities in need.

In addition to pastoral ministry, James Langston is also a prolific author, writing books that encourage faith, address modern challenges, and point readers back to biblical truth.

Through every season of life—from the Navy to the pulpit—his message has remained the same:
Jesus Christ is the hope of the world.

Reaching the World with the Gospel — Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International

In a world searching for hope, truth, and purpose, Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International exists for one clear mission: to reach souls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

🌍 Visit the ministry:

Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International (POMI) is a Christ-centered global ministry devoted to evangelism, discipleship, humanitarian outreach, and sharing the life-changing message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

The ministry is led by Pastor James Langston—a Christian, missionary, author, husband, father, grandfather, and retired U.S. Navy veteran who has dedicated more than five decades of his life to serving the Lord and proclaiming the Gospel around the world.

Through preaching, writing, missions, and outreach efforts, the ministry seeks to bring light into places where hope has often been scarce.

One of the most exciting areas of ministry today is the Philippines and parts of Asia, where God is opening doors for powerful evangelistic outreach and community support. Through faithful partners and supporters, the ministry is working to:

• Preach the Gospel through evangelistic crusades and tent meetings
• Support local churches and pastors
• Provide mobile medical and dental outreach to underserved communities
• Sponsor school-age children through Adopt-A-Child programs
• Distribute food and humanitarian assistance
• Build ministry infrastructure to strengthen the work long-term

Lives are being touched, families are being encouraged, and souls are coming to Christ.

But the work is far from finished.

Every prayer, every shared message, and every act of generosity helps extend the reach of the Gospel to people who are still waiting to hear the Good News.

🙏 Please keep this ministry in your prayers, and if the Lord places it on your heart, consider joining us in this mission.

Together, we can help bring the hope of Jesus Christ to the nations.

Giving Tuesday Is Today — Don’t Let Opportunity Become Regret

Today is Giving Tuesday, and the Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International campaign is in full swing. Around the world, people are coming together with one purpose: to give, to help, and to make a difference where it matters most.

If you have already taken the time to give, thank you from the depths of our hearts. Your generosity helps carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people who are still waiting to hear that message of hope, redemption, and eternal life.

But if you have not yet given, today is a powerful opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Across the Philippines and Asia, countless communities are opening their hearts to the Gospel. Through evangelism, outreach, discipleship, and humanitarian work, souls are being reached and lives are being changed. Your support helps us travel farther, reach deeper, and minister to people who may otherwise never hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Every prayer, every share, and every gift becomes part of that mission.

A Quote to Remember About Procrastination:

"Procrastination is the silent thief of opportunity. What we delay today may be the very moment God intended us to act."

There are moments in life when hesitation costs nothing—but there are also moments when delay can mean a missed blessing. Giving Tuesday is one of those moments when a simple act of generosity can echo far beyond what we see.

If you feel led to help us bring the Gospel to the furthest reaches of the Philippines and Asia, we would be deeply grateful for your support.

Every Christian Needs a Pastor

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:11–13 that Christ gave gifts to the Church—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—for the perfecting of the saints and the building up of the body of Christ.

This truth reminds us of something many believers overlook today: every Christian needs a pastor.

A God-called, Christ-centered pastor is not merely a preacher behind a pulpit. A true shepherd is someone who prays for the flock, teaches the Word of God faithfully, warns of spiritual dangers, and lovingly corrects when believers begin to drift from truth.

I firmly believe that every pastor should also have a pastor, someone who can speak into their life, challenge them, and keep them accountable before God. No one is above correction, counsel, or spiritual oversight.

What often hurts the body of Christ the most is not persecution from the outside—it is un-teachable hearts on the inside.

When Christians become unyielding to instruction, resistant to correction, or dismissive of the discipline and guidance of the Holy Spirit, spiritual growth stops. Pride quietly replaces humility, and the unity Christ prayed for begins to fracture.

I say this not casually, but from more than 50 years of living for Jesus Christ and decades of watching the Church grow, struggle, and sometimes stumble.

Sadly, there are times when those outside the Church can see these things faster than those within it.

Church, we must remain humble, teachable, and willing to be shaped by God’s Word and His Spirit.

Let us remember this sobering truth:

God sees. God hears. God knows. And in His time, God will act.

May we be found faithful, humble, and submitted to the Lord and to the spiritual leadership He has placed in our lives.

Pray Without Ceasing — For Our Nation, Our Leaders, and Our World

In times like these, prayer is not optional for the believer—it is essential.

Every day, we are witnessing events unfold across the world that remind us how fragile peace can be. Conflicts in the Middle East continue to intensify, tensions between nations rise and fall, and uncertainty fills the headlines. Yet above every government, every conflict, and every moment of history stands the sovereign hand of God.

As Christians, we are called not merely to observe the times, but to pray through them.

Scripture reminds us in 1 Timothy 2:1–2 that we should offer supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all people; for kings and for all that are in authority. Whether we agree with them or not, our leaders need wisdom that only God can give.

Please do not forget to daily pray for:

• The United States and its future
Our national leaders and those making critical decisions
The ongoing conflicts in the Middle East
Our military and first responders
Families and communities around the world
One another, that our faith would remain strong

Above all, let us pray that the Will of the Lord be done.

God is allowing events and circumstances to unfold for a purpose far greater than we can fully see. Throughout history, moments of upheaval have often preceded great spiritual awakenings. Even in times of uncertainty, the Gospel continues to advance.

Many believe we are living in a moment where the message of Jesus Christ is being carried across the earth one more time with renewed urgency—reaching hearts, nations, and people groups who have never heard the Good News before.

This is not a time for fear.
This is a time for faith.

Let us be people of prayer, people of hope, and people committed to the truth of the Gospel. When believers pray, heaven moves in ways the world cannot explain.

Together, through prayer, faith, and obedience, we can help ensure that the light of Christ continues to shine into every corner of this world.

🙏 Pray for the nation. Pray for the world. Pray for one another.
