Reflecting on the News as We Enter January 9, 2026 πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

As we step into the 9th day of this New Year, it’s good to pause and reflect on some of the major headlines shaping our nation and the world so far in 2026 — reminding us how quickly history moves and how much prayer, wisdom, and faith are needed in the days ahead.

πŸ“Œ A Few U.S. News Highlights So Far:
• The United States executed a significant military operation in Venezuela, capturing President NicolΓ‘s Maduro and his wife; they now face federal charges such as narco-terrorism and weapons offenses in a Manhattan court.
• The U.S. Senate advanced a War Powers Resolution aimed at checking presidential authority in foreign military actions, reflecting deep legislative and constitutional debates.
• Domestic tensions flared after an ICE officer fatally shot a woman in Minneapolis, prompting local protests and scrutiny of immigration enforcement practices.
• Recent policy shifts include changes to federal childhood vaccine recommendations, affecting public health discourse.
• The U.S. has also seen political friction with global allies, including criticism over military actions and foreign policy strategies.

These events remind us that more is to follow in the coming 357 days — in world affairs and in the life of our communities. Are you ready to face the rest of 2026 with hope and faith?

As believers called to pray without ceasing, let us intercede for our nation’s leaders, our neighborhoods, and the hurting in our world.

Thought for Today | January 9, 2026

Sometimes God does not change our circumstances immediately—not because He is absent, but because He is working deeper than what our eyes can see. Growth often happens quietly, strength is built in hidden places, and faith is refined in moments of waiting. Trust that even when nothing seems to be moving, God is still moving you—preparing your heart for what He has already prepared for your future.

Good Morning | January 9, 2026 ☀️

Good morning, and may the peace of God rest upon you as this new day begins. As the sun rises, so do His mercies—new every morning. No matter what yesterday held, today is filled with fresh grace, renewed strength, and divine purpose.

Morning Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of this new day. Awaken our hearts, steady our minds, and order our steps according to Your will. Strengthen the weary, comfort the hurting, guide the uncertain, and remind us that You are still God over every circumstance. May we walk today in faith, humility, compassion, and bold obedience. Use our lives to reflect Your light, and let everything we do bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As you begin this day, remember: God is already in your January, already in your future, and already making a way.

Please continue to pray for Pilgrim Outreach Ministries as we labor to share the Gospel and minister to the whole man—mind, body, soul, and spirit.

Reaching the Whole World—One Soul at a Time

At Pilgrim Outreach Ministries, we are committed to ministering the Gospel to the whole manmind, body, soul, and spirit. Our mission is simple, yet eternal, echoing the command of Christ: “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel…”

Never before have we lived in a time when technology—just as foretold in Daniel 12:4—has made sharing the Gospel so accessible and far-reaching. Today, all it takes is one person with a willing heart, a made-up mind, and faith in a God who does the impossible. When those come together, the limits disappear.

We ask you to:

  • Pray for us

  • Stand in faith with us

  • Support our efforts as we strive to tell one more soul about Jesus Christ

Together, we can reach homes, hearts, and nations.

Ways to Support the Mission:

Thank you for partnering with us in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Not Just Love—But the One Who Is Love

You’ve heard it said countless times: “What the world needs now is love.”
It sounds noble. It feels comforting. But is love—by itself—enough?

Can love alone cure the sick, heal broken hearts, set captives free, break spiritual bondages, right deep wrongs, or redeem a fallen soul? If love, as the world defines it, were sufficient, then why did Christ have to leave heaven, walk among us, and die on a Roman cross?

The truth is this:
It is not merely love that the world needs—it needs the One who is Love.
And His name is Jesus Christ.

While my wife and I sat in a dentist’s office today, waiting for her appointment, a television was on in the background. The program airing was The View. I am not a fan of the show, nor did I choose to watch it. Yet as it played, something stirred deeply in my spirit.

The panel included Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, with Marjorie Taylor Greene as the guest.

As the conversation unfolded, I found myself cringing—not politically, but spiritually. There was a heaviness, a darkness that felt almost tangible, as though the atmosphere itself was weighed down. It was a sobering reminder that intellect, opinions, influence, and passion—without Christ—cannot bring true light.

This is not a call to anger or argument. It is a call to prayer.

Pray for each of these women—not condemnation, but compassion. Pray that they would have a genuine, life-altering encounter with the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Pray that truth would pierce through noise, that light would overcome darkness, and that hearts would be softened to receive the Gospel.

Because love without truth is sentiment.
And truth without Christ is incomplete.
But Jesus—full of grace and truth—changes everything.

“Strength for the Waiting”

One of the hardest disciplines in life is waiting—waiting for answers, direction, healing, provision, or clarity. Our instinct is to rush ahead, force outcomes, or grow weary when God doesn’t move on our timeline.

But Scripture reminds us that waiting is not wasted time.

Waiting is where strength is renewed. Waiting is where trust deepens. Waiting is where God does His quiet, refining work within us.

God does not delay to frustrate us—He delays to prepare us.

You are not being ignored.
You are being strengthened.
You are being shaped for what’s next.
γ…€
πŸ“– Isaiah 40:31 says,
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
γ…€
Waiting does not weaken faith—it builds it.
Waiting does not drain strength—it restores it.
Waiting does not slow God—it aligns us with Him.
γ…€
If today feels long, trust this truth: God is working even when you cannot see it. What He is preparing you for will require the strength He is now renewing.
γ…€
Don’t rush the process.
Don’t abandon hope.
Don’t mistake silence for absence.
γ…€
God is faithful—especially in the waiting.
γ…€
πŸ™ Morning Prayer
γ…€
Lord, help me to wait on You with faith and patience. Renew my strength where I feel weak, and steady my heart where I feel uncertain. Teach me to trust Your timing and walk confidently in obedience today. I place my hope in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
