📌

When GPS Becomes God — And Why It Shouldn’t

In a world filled with screens, satellites, and systems, it’s amazing how quickly people will trust a device they can hold in their hands more than the God who holds them in His.

Today, more than ever, people trust GPS over Jesus, directions over discernment, and devices over divine wisdom. Why? Because they say:
“I can see it. I can touch it. I can control it.”

But control is an illusion—and technology is far from perfect.

A pastor friend of mine followed his GPS to what he thought was the church he was scheduled to preach at.
He ended up in a graveyard.

My wife and daughter once followed their GPS to a so-called store location.
It led them to a vacant lot.

And another person was instructed to turn right at a certain point—
a turn that would have sent them plummeting into a ravine.

So why do so many trust “things” more than they trust God?
Because they can hold the device… yet struggle to hold on to faith.

But as the old song says,
“I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold.”

Your choice is your decision—
but you must be willing to live with the consequences,
both short-term and long-term,
of trusting a device that can fail
versus trusting a God who never does.

Choose your guide wisely.
Only one leads to life.

📌 Christmas for Jesus 2025 — Will You Help Us Bless 100 Families?

Hi, I’m James Langston, pastor of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries here in the Philippines.

This Christmas, we’ve made a bold commitment:
🎁 Bless 100 families with
• A Bible
• 10 kg of rice
• Toys for the kids
• Enough staples to prepare a Christmas meal

But with less than two weeks left before Christmas, we urgently need your help.

Imagine families waking up on Christmas morning with:
— Nothing to eat
— No toys for their children
— No joy or hope for the day

Now imagine the same families waking up to food, gifts, Scripture—and hope.

Overwhelming joy.
That’s exactly what your support can bring.

You can help us make this vision a reality.
Please consider giving today.

🌍 Donate at: pomitaly.homestead.com

Your kindness will change a family’s Christmas… and their future.

Thank you. 🙏

📜 * Contending for the Faith *

📖 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people – [Jude 1:3]

Faith is not just something we believe—it is something we must actively defend, protect, and live.

Jude urges Believers to “contend for the faith,” meaning:
• Stand firm in biblical truth, even in the face of opposition
• Refuse to let the world dilute or distort God’s Word
• Stay obedient in a culture that pressures us to compromise
• Live boldly, love deeply, and share the Gospel with conviction and compassion

Contending for the faith is not about arguing, attacking, or being combative.
It means:
✨ Being grounded in Scripture
✨ Being clear about what we believe
✨ Being confident in why we believe it
✨ Being courageous enough to defend truth with love

When your faith is rooted in Christ, you can withstand:
✔️ False teaching
✔️ Cultural pressure
✔️ Moral compromise
✔️ Spiritual confusion

Are you prepared to defend your faith?
Strengthen your understanding of Scripture. Study apologetics. Read the historical foundations of Christianity. Build your life firmly on God’s unshakable truth.

🙏 Prayer
“Lord, help me to stand firm in my faith.
Give me wisdom to recognize false teachings and courage to defend Your truth with love.
Strengthen my heart so I will not waver in difficult times.
Teach me to be a light in a world that desperately needs You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

✝️ QUESTION OF THE WEEK
From Jayden, 16 — Sacramento, California

“Hi Pastor James, thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m struggling with something I haven’t really talked about…

Lately I’ve been feeling a lot of pressure — school, friends, social media — and sometimes I feel like I’m not good enough. I keep comparing myself to everyone else online, and it makes me feel small.

Is it wrong to feel this way? Why does it seem like everyone else is doing better than me?”

Hi Jayden — thank you for reaching out.

Your honesty is powerful, and your question is one that so many young people quietly wrestle with every day. You are not the only one feeling the weight of comparison, insecurity, and pressure.

Here’s what I want you to hold onto:
Feeling overwhelmed does NOT mean you are weak — it means you are human.

Comparison is one of the enemy’s loudest tools. It steals confidence, drains joy, and blinds us to the gifts God placed inside us. But the truth is:

You were never designed to compete with anyone — you were created to be who God uniquely made you to be.
What you see online is filtered, edited, and often exaggerated — but God sees the real you and calls you valuable.
Your worth has nothing to do with achievements, likes, or approval — it comes from the One who made you on purpose and for a purpose.

Jayden, when you start feeling pressure or comparison creeping in, pray this simple prayer:

“Lord, help me see myself the way You see me.
Silence every lie and strengthen my heart with Your truth.”

And listen — you’re not alone in this journey. If your parents give permission, I would be honored to send you a free devotional and a copy of our book:
📘 Your First Steps in Walking with God

God has a plan for you, and comparing yourself to others will only distract you from it. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will guide you through every season.

📌 A Christmas Appeal From the Heart — Will You Help Us Bless Families This Year?

Dear Friend,

There are moments in ministry when the Lord gently reminds us that we cannot do this work alone. Moments when the need is great… the resources are limited… and yet the opportunity to bring hope is standing right in front of us, waiting for someone to say “Yes, Lord.”

Matthew 7:7 gives us that sacred permission:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Today, with humility and faith, we ask.

Not for ourselves.
Not for our comfort.
Not for our benefit.

But for the children, mothers, families, and forgotten souls across the Philippines who are praying for relief—people who are wondering if this Christmas will look like the others filled with want, or if by God’s grace, this year will be different.

We want this year to be different.
We want to bring joy where sorrow has taken root.
We want to deliver food where cupboards are empty.
We want to bring hope where despair has settled in.
We want to remind people that God sees them, loves them, and has not forgotten them.

But we cannot do it without you.

This Christmas, Pilgrim Outreach Ministries is reaching out with a heartfelt request:
Would you consider giving—whatever you are able—to help us bless families in need?

Your gift, no matter how large or small, will:

• Place food on tables
• Put smiles on children’s faces
• Provide essentials that many can’t afford
• Strengthen weary parents
• And echo the love of Jesus in a tangible, unforgettable way

Heaven keeps record of the seeds you sow. And the families who receive your kindness will never forget the touch of God delivered through your generosity.

Please let the Lord speak to your heart.
If you can help, we invite you to give today at:
🌍 pomitaly.homestead.com

Together, we can make this a Christmas they will remember forever.

With gratitude, hope, and prayer,
Pilgrim Outreach Ministries

📌 “I Don’t Need God” — A Truth We Cannot Ignore

You’ve heard it before—
“I don’t need God.”
“I don’t believe in God.”
“I’m just as good as they are.”
“I’m fine.”
“Who made you a judge?”
…and on and on it goes.

It’s nothing new.
Humanity has lifted its voice in pride since Eden and built its confidence on the shaky foundation of self-sufficiency.

It’s been said that nearly 89% of the world has rejected, ignored, or attempted to build its own “Tower of Babel” to heaven—fashioning their own path, their own truth, their own standard.

And when you meet someone who believes they’re qualified for heaven based on what they do—
their money,
their fame,
their charity,
their morals,
their kindness,
their good deeds—
what can you say?

You can say exactly what the Spirit told John to write to the church of Laodicea:

“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing;
and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.”

Revelation 3:17

This is not condemnation.
This is God calling humanity to wake up.

Good deeds are wonderful.
Compassion is beautiful.
Kindness matters.
Generosity is needed.

But none of these save a soul.

There is only one way into heaven, and Jesus said it plainly:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”
John 14:6

Our job is not to force anyone to believe.
Our job is to tell the truth, live the truth, and share the truth—lovingly, boldly, faithfully.

If we do our part,
God will do the rest.

The final decision is always in the hands of the hearer.
