📣 A Matthew 18:19 Prayer for the Rebellious and Wayward Child

There are few pains deeper than the heartbreak of watching a son, daughter, or loved one reject everything they were taught and walk down a destructive path.

But Jesus gave us a promise in Matthew 18:19:

“If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven.”

Today, we stand in agreement with every parent carrying the silent weight of a rebellious or wayward child.
If this is your prayer, may these words speak life into your home:

🙏 A Prayer for the Rebellious Son, Daughter, or Wayward Child

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come together in agreement according to Matthew 18:19.
You see the tears, the fear, and the pain that this parent carries.
You see the path their child has chosen, the rebellion, the anger, the wandering…
and You see the hurt it causes both them and themselves.

Lord, we ask You to bring this son, this daughter, this precious child back to their senses — just as You did for the prodigal.
Break every chain of deception, pride, rebellion, addiction, confusion, and ungodly influence.
Silence every voice leading them astray and open their ears to hear Your truth again.

Soften their heart.
Interrupt their plans.
Disrupt every wrong relationship.
Close every destructive door.
Open their eyes to the pain they’ve caused — and the love that still waits for them.

Lord, let Your goodness lead them to repentance.
Let Your mercy arrest their heart.
Let Your Spirit trouble their sleep, convict their choices, and draw them home.

We pray restoration.
We pray healing.
We pray reconciliation.
And we decree by faith that this child will not be lost, will not be destroyed, and will not drift beyond Your reach.

Do for them what the parent cannot do.
Do for them what only Heaven can do.
Bring them home — spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

To every parent reading this—don’t give up.
God hears.
God sees.
God restores.

📣 Why Is It So Hard to Live for God?

The inspiration for this message comes from Mark 12:30, where Jesus calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
And for many believers, this leads to a difficult but honest question:

“Why is it so hard to live for God?”

The answer is simple… and yet deeply challenging:

Yes, it’s hard.
Yes, it’s difficult.
But no — it’s not impossible.

The greatest obstacle you will ever face…
is you.

1️⃣ The Real Struggle: We Want to Stay in Control

If we’re honest, many of us still want to run our own lives, make our own choices, and call our own shots — outside of Christ.

One man once said:

“I’m a grown man. Nobody tells me what I can and can’t do.”

And that statement is exactly the problem.

Living for God requires surrender — total, unconditional, absolute surrender.

Not partial surrender.
Not “Sunday-only” surrender.
Not convenient surrender.

Jesus didn’t say love Him with some of your heart, or with part of your strength.
He said all.

2️⃣ So How Do You Surrender Everything to God?

Here is the truth:

We can’t.
But God can.

What Jesus did for us at Calvary didn’t just open the door to:

✔ Salvation
It also opened the door to:
✔ Sanctification
✔ Justification
✔ Daily victory over sin and self

Romans 8:2 explains that the only way to live in victory is through:

faith and trust in the finished Work of the Cross.

Not willpower.
Not self-discipline.
Not self-improvement.

Jesus is the Source.
The Cross is the means.

3️⃣ A Prayer of Surrender

Let’s pray together:

“Father, please forgive me for not surrendering my all to You.
I can’t do this on my own.
I need the help You promised through the vicarious, atoning death of Jesus Christ.
I surrender everything — my heart, my mind, my will, my life — to You.
I place my complete faith and trust in Your finished Work at Calvary.
Jesus is the Source.
The Cross is the means.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

4️⃣ Final Word

Living for God becomes possible the moment we stop trying to do it ourselves.

Victory doesn’t come from effort —
it comes from surrender.

📣 Is It Too Late to Reach My Child for Christ?

A question recently came into the ministry — and it’s one that applies to far more people than the woman who asked it.

She wrote:

“I was raised in a Christian home. I got saved early in life. I served in the ministry, sang in the choir, was active in youth groups — I did everything I could for God.
But slowly, I drifted.
Not because anyone hurt me… I just wanted something else. I walked away from church, and eventually from the Lord.

I got married, had a daughter, and thought life would settle into place… but it didn’t. And I made what I now know was a huge mistake — I did not teach my daughter about the Bible or the Lord.

I wanted her to decide for herself.
Now she’s a teenager — rebellious, uninterested in God, and hard to reach.

My question is… Is it too late to start now? To teach her about Jesus, salvation, heaven, hell, judgment — all the things I should have taught her as a child?”

My answer to her was simple:

“No. It is NOT too late.”

We all respond to the tug of the Gospel at different ages, in different seasons, and often in unexpected ways.
You never know — this may be the moment her heart is finally ready.

Parents, hear this with love:

Don’t beat yourself up over what you should’ve done.
Don’t drown in guilt.
Don’t let your past silence your voice today.

Start right now.
Start where you are.
Start with what you know.
Start with prayer.
Start with conversations.
Start with love.

God has a way of taking what we think is “too late” and turning it into “right on time.”

He can reach hearts you cannot.
He can soften attitudes you can’t break through.
He can draw your child in ways you never imagined.

You plant.
You water.
God gives the increase.

Trust Him. He will meet you — and your child — exactly where you are.

📣 What Is the “Chastening of the Lord”? Understanding Hebrews 12:6–11

Many believers have asked a sincere and sometimes fearful question:

“What exactly is the chastening of the Lord? Is it the same as facing consequences for my sins — and how can I tell the difference?”

Hebrews 12:6–11 gives us one of the clearest biblical explanations of God’s discipline, yet it’s also one of the most misunderstood passages in the New Testament. Let’s break it down with grace, truth, and clarity.

1️⃣ What Is the Chastening of the Lord?

The word “chasten” means:

✔ to train
✔ to correct
✔ to mature
✔ to discipline
✔ to shape a person’s character

In other words:

Chastening is not punishment — it is parenting.

Hebrews 12:6 says:

“For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth…”

God does not chasten out of anger, wrath, or irritation.
He chastens because:

👉 You belong to Him.
👉 He is committed to you.
👉 He is shaping you into Christlikeness.

Chastening is God’s loving involvement in your growth.

2️⃣ Is Chastening the Same as Consequences for Sin?

No — they are not the same.

Consequences

These are the natural results of our choices.
If you lie, people lose trust.
If you overspend, debt grows.
If you sow to the flesh, you reap corruption (Galatians 6:8).

Consequences happen whether you are saved or unsaved. They are built into the fabric of life.

Chastening

This is the intentional, purposeful correction of a loving Father.
It is not random.
It is not accidental.
It is tailored to draw you closer to Him, not push you away.

Consequences teach you about life.
Chastening teaches you about God.

3️⃣ How Can You Tell the Difference?

Here are key indicators:

A. The Tone of God’s Work in Your Life

Chastening feels corrective, but it draws you toward God.
Consequences feel heavy, but they don’t necessarily change your heart.

B. The Fruit It Produces

Hebrews 12:11 says chastening yields:

“the peaceable fruit of righteousness.”
It produces maturity, humility, obedience, and spiritual growth.

Consequences alone don’t produce righteousness — but chastening does.

C. The Inner Witness of the Holy Spirit

During chastening, the Spirit convicts — not condemns.
Conviction says:
“Come to Me.”

Condemnation says:
“There’s no hope for you.”

One draws you home.
The other drives you away.

4️⃣ Why Should We Embrace God’s Chastening?

Because chastening is evidence of His love.

Hebrews 12:7 declares:

“God dealeth with you as with sons.”

If God never corrected you, guided you, or confronted the things that harm your soul, He would not be a Father — He would be an observer.

Chastening reminds you:

You are His child.
You are not forgotten.
You are not abandoned.
You are being shaped for glory.

5️⃣ Final Thought

The chastening of the Lord is not something to fear — it is something to honor.

It means God is working on you.
It means God refuses to leave you as you are.
It means God sees greatness in you that you cannot yet see in yourself.

Whether you are experiencing consequences or chastening, one truth stands firm:

God’s goal is always your restoration, not your ruin.

Let Him shape you.
Let Him grow you.
Let Him love you through correction.

✨ What Does It Really Take to Enter Heaven? A Biblical Answer for a Confused World ✨

One of the most important questions any person will ever ask is this:

“What are the requirements to go to heaven?”

It’s a question filled with fear, curiosity, tradition, and at times, deep misunderstanding. Culture has its answers. Religion has its answers. Even well-meaning people can offer opinions that sound spiritual yet have no foundation in Scripture.

So today, we go straight to the source — the Word of God — and settle this question once and for all.

1️⃣ Does your church membership determine your salvation?

No.

Church attendance is important, but it does not save the soul.
The thief on the cross never joined a church, but Jesus said:

“Today you will be with Me in paradise.” — Luke 23:43

Going to church helps believers grow, learn, and serve — but it is not the ticket into heaven.

2️⃣ Does water baptism save you?

No — not by itself.

Water baptism is a powerful act of obedience and a public declaration of faith, but the Bible never teaches that the water itself removes sin.

Ephesians 2:8–9 makes it uncomfortably clear:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works.”

Baptism follows salvation.
It does not replace it.

3️⃣ Do last rites prepare you for heaven?

No.

Nowhere in Scripture does Jesus or the apostles teach that a ritual performed at death washes away sin.

Only the blood of Jesus saves — whether a person dies suddenly or peacefully.

“The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin.” — 1 John 1:7

4️⃣ Does speaking in tongues make you saved?

No.

Tongues are a spiritual gift — not a salvation requirement.
When Paul addressed tongues, he spoke to believers, not unbelievers.

Salvation is not tied to spiritual gifts but to spiritual rebirth.

“If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.” — Romans 8:9

The presence of the Holy Spirit — not tongues — is the evidence of salvation.

5️⃣ Do prayers for the dead help someone enter heaven?

No.

The Bible says plainly:

“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” — Hebrews 9:27

Once a person dies, their eternal destiny is sealed.
No prayer, ritual, donation, or ceremony can change their standing.

This belief isn’t cruel — it’s biblical truth.

6️⃣ So what DOES God require for someone to enter heaven?

The Bible’s answer is stunningly simple — and often offensive to human pride.

✔ Acknowledge you are a sinner.

“All have sinned…” — Romans 3:23

✔ Believe in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” — Acts 16:31

✔ Confess Him as Lord and Savior.

“If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus…” — Romans 10:9–10

No rituals.
No traditions.
No denominational labels.
No human ceremonies.

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

That is the Gospel.

7️⃣ Why do so many people believe salvation is more complicated?

Because religion complicates what God made simple.

People feel safer when they can “earn” heaven through works, effort, or tradition. But salvation cannot be bought, bargained for, or achieved.

If we could save ourselves, Jesus would never have gone to the cross.

The Gospel is not about human achievement — it is about divine rescue.

8️⃣ What should you do if you’re not sure you’re saved?

Settle it today.

Pray with sincerity:

“Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died and rose again to save me. I ask You to forgive me, cleanse me, and make me Yours. I confess You as my Lord and Savior. Amen.”

If you prayed that with sincerity, heaven is now your eternal home — not because of who you are, but because of who Christ is.

9️⃣ For the believer: Share this truth with urgency.

We live in a world filled with religious tradition but starving for biblical truth.
People need clarity.
People need Christ.
People need the Gospel.

And now you know exactly what to tell them.
