🌍 A Gospel Too Big for Borders

Why the Church Must Reclaim a Global, Missionary Mindset

Posted by Pilgrim Outreach Ministries | pomitaly.homestead.com

Unless you have a worldview—a heart shaped by the Great Commission and a mind consumed by the heartbeat of Heaven—you will have very little interest in reaching those in distant lands.

Let that sink in.

We live in a time where technology can take us across oceans in seconds, but many believers remain spiritually grounded in their own comfort zones.
We speak often of revival, power, and purpose—but how can we claim to walk with Christ while ignoring His final command?

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
— Mark 16:15

This wasn’t a suggestion.
It wasn’t reserved for pastors, missionaries, or church boards.
It was for all of us.

The Mandate, Not a Movement

The gospel is not a trend.
It’s not an optional outreach event.
It is the mandate of Heaven—to reach every race, every tongue, every tribe, and every nation.

If our faith doesn’t reach beyond our front doors,
if it doesn’t break through our political barriers,
if it doesn’t move us to pray, give, and go
then we have misunderstood the very mission of Christ.

God never intended the Church to be a fortress of comfort.
He intended it to be a launch pad
a sending center for soldiers of the cross
to take His message into the highways and hedges, across rivers and borders, and into every corner of this earth.

Time Is Short. Eternity Is Not.

We’re not just running out of time—we’re already late.

While we argue over church carpets and titles,
millions are dying without ever hearing the name of Jesus.

This isn’t just about foreign missions—it’s about eternal destinies.

It’s about young girls in India being trafficked while never knowing their worth in Christ.
It’s about elderly men in North Africa who’ve bowed to idols their entire lives because no one ever told them about the cross.
It’s about children in remote islands who’ve never heard a single Bible verse.

The question is not, “Should I be involved?”
It’s “How can I not be?”

Your Role in the Great Commission

Not everyone is called to move overseas—but we are all called to move.

  • Move in prayer.

  • Move in giving.

  • Move in sending.

  • Move in compassion.

  • Move in obedience.

The Kingdom needs your voice. Your time. Your testimony. Your generosity.
You can make an eternal difference from wherever you are.

At Pilgrim Outreach Ministries, we’ve devoted ourselves to this global assignment—to preach, to reach, to teach, and to disciple wherever God sends us.

And we invite you to partner with us in this holy urgency.

📝 When Facts Get Fired: A Christian Reflection on Economic Integrity and Political Pressure

🗓️ August 5, 2025

In a stunning development today, the head of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics was relieved of her duties after releasing a jobs report that painted a less-than-rosy picture of the American labor market. The message was clear: report the right numbers—or lose your job.

As disturbing as this is, it isn’t new. Truth has always been under fire in a world that prioritizes image over integrity. From the courtrooms of ancient Jerusalem to modern-day newsrooms, truth has often been the first casualty in times of political pressure.

But for the believer, this moment should serve as a call to spiritual attention.

🔹 First, we must remember that God values honesty in all dealings. Proverbs 11:1 says, “A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.” Whether it’s weights in a marketplace or statistics on a spreadsheet, accuracy and fairness matter to the Lord.

🔹 Second, we are reminded to pray for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1–2). Whether we agree with them or not, our prayers should be for wisdom, justice, and hearts turned toward righteousness.

🔹 Third, this is a sobering reminder to anchor ourselves in unchanging truth. In an era of shifting narratives, the Word of God remains the one unaltered source of truth. When others fire the truth, we must lift it higher.

The Church must rise—not with political noise, but with spiritual discernment and moral courage.

Let us be the ones who still believe, speak, and stand for truth, no matter the earthly consequences.

✝️ “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” — John 17:17

🙏 PRAYER RESPONSE

“A Prayer for Truth and Righteous Leadership”

Heavenly Father,
You are the God of all truth. Your Word is pure, eternal, and unchanging. Today, we lift up our hearts to You on behalf of the United States and its leaders. As institutions shake and truth is contested, we ask You to raise up men and women of integrity in positions of influence.

Lord, we grieve when facts are silenced and truth is dismissed. Yet we are not shaken, because our confidence is not in human systems, but in Your sovereign rule.

Strengthen those in government, media, and leadership who still seek honesty. Protect whistleblowers, truth-tellers, and prophets in the land. Convict the hearts of those who manipulate, deceive, or oppress for personal gain.

Let Your justice roll down like waters, and Your righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

And for us, Lord, help us to speak truth in love, to pray without ceasing, and to live with integrity in every realm of life.

In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.

It’s a question so many have whispered in private but were too ashamed or afraid to ask aloud:

“Will God forgive me?”

Not, “Can He?”
Not, “Does He forgive in general?”
But — “Will He forgive me?”after what I’ve done… after where I’ve been… after the people I’ve hurt… the promises I’ve broken… the sins I’ve repeated.

That’s the burning question at the heart of James Langston’s newest book, Will God Forgive Me? — now available on Amazon in paperback, hardcover, and Kindle eBook.

Title: When the Rains Come… So Does the Glory

The rainy season officially arrived here in the Philippines on June 1, and since that day, we’ve certainly seen the heavens open. The rain has been steady, at times unrelenting—flooding streets, saturating ground, and slowing down some of the normal rhythms of life. For a few days recently, the sun returned, breaking through the clouds and reminding us of God’s faithfulness. But as of this Wednesday, the forecast shows we’re heading back into another stretch of aggressive rainfall.

And yet, life and ministry go on.
The Gospel doesn’t wait for clear skies.
Hope doesn’t pause for better weather.

This past Saturday, August 2, I had the privilege of teaching a Bible study from Psalm 100:4:

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

There we were, gathered in simplicity, with no spotlight, no stage, and no show—just a few chairs, open Bibles, and willing hearts. And oh, how the Holy Spirit moved.

People laughed. They listened. They responded. But most importantly, they encountered God.

One woman, in particular, came in carrying an invisible burden. Her face showed the weight of worry, her voice softened by sorrow. But by the end of that study—through the Word, worship, and the presence of the Lord—she stood transformed: eyes bright, heart full, lips declaring praise. What she once carried, she left at Jesus' feet.

That’s what your support makes possible.

Why #GivingTuesday Matters—Even on Rainy Days

Every week, and especially today on #GivingTuesday, we are reminded that we can’t do this alone. The roads are often muddy. The costs are real. The needs are constant. But the calling? It hasn’t changed.

People are still hungry—for food, yes, but even more so for truth. For hope. For something more than the brokenness they’ve grown used to.

Your giving helps us:

  • Teach the unchanging Word of God.

  • Minister to hurting hearts.

  • Travel to remote areas.

  • Provide materials, meals, and more.

  • Reach one more soul with the undying hope of Jesus Christ.

Rain or Shine, Jesus Still Saves

The clouds may gather, the wind may howl, and the rain may fall—but God's work marches on. And with your prayers, your partnership, and your generosity, so do we.

So today, we ask you to stand with us once again. If you’ve never given before, this is a great day to start. If you have supported us in the past, we thank you—and invite you to continue.

🛑 Don’t underestimate what your gift can do. One offering may fund a Bible. A ride. A meal. A miracle.

📍 Whether big or small, your generosity helps keep this Gospel going forward.

Title: Tithing: Before the Law, Beyond the Debate

Let’s face it—tithing is one of the most controversial subjects in Christian circles today. Bring it up in conversation, and you’ll often hear things like:

  • “Tithing was under the Law.”

  • “We’re under grace now, not obligation.”

  • “The New Testament doesn’t command it.”

  • “I give, just not ten percent.”

And then there are those who just get uncomfortable when the subject of giving is even mentioned.

But before we toss out tithing as outdated, let’s pause. Take a deep breath. And open the Word, not just a can of worms.

Because here's the question that matters most:
👉 What does God say about it?

📜 Tithing Was Not Born in the Law

Contrary to popular belief, tithing didn’t begin with Moses—it began with Abraham.

Genesis 14:18–20“And he [Abraham] gave him tithes of all.”

This moment—Abraham giving a tenth to Melchizedek, the priest of the Most High God—happened hundreds of years before the Law was ever introduced. It was an act of honor, not requirement. Abraham wasn’t obeying a command—he was expressing gratitude and reverence.

Then we see Jacob, in Genesis 28:22, saying:

“...and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.”

Again—this was before the Law. Jacob vowed to return a tenth to God out of his own heart. That’s voluntary covenant giving, not legal obligation.

This tells us something powerful:
Tithing predates the Law.
Which means tithing wasn’t just a rule—it was a principle. A pattern. A response of the heart.

📖 What Did Jesus Say?

Many are quick to say, “Jesus never told Christians to tithe.” But let’s actually look at what He did say.

Matthew 23:23 (KJV)
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe… and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.”

In today’s language:
✔️ Do the right things—show justice, mercy, and faith.
✔️ But don’t stop tithing while you do.

He didn’t condemn tithing—He condemned hypocrisy. He upheld the tithe while calling for hearts full of compassion and righteousness.

💡 Why the Pushback?

So why is there so much resistance? Why the arguments?

Honestly, it comes down to this:
We don't like anything that challenges our wallets.
But Jesus knew this. That’s why He talked more about money than Hell.

Not because He was obsessed with wealth—but because He knew money reveals the true condition of our hearts.

Matthew 6:21“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

🤔 If the Word “Tithe” Offends You...

Here’s the bottom line:

If the word "tithe" gets under your skin, then call it something else.
Call it an offering.
Call it a covenant act.
Call it generosity.
But don’t let semantics stop you from honoring God with your substance.

The point is not legalism—it’s lordship.
Who is first in your life?
Where does your trust lie?
What kingdom are you building with what He’s given you?

🙏 Ask God. Then Obey.

Forget the opinions. Forget the Facebook debates. Forget the YouTube “experts.”

Get alone with God and ask:
“Lord, what would You have me do?”

And then—do it. Cheerfully. Faithfully. Worshipfully.

Because when you give from your heart, you're not just supporting a ministry—you're honoring your Maker.

📌 Final Thought:

Tithing is not about obligation.
It’s about honor.
It’s about obedience.
It’s about saying, “Lord, You’re first. Not just in word, but in my wallet.”

And for those still unsure, remember this:

Malachi 3:10“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts…”

God actually dares you to test Him in your giving.
How often does Scripture invite you to put God to the test?
That’s not manipulation. That’s a promise.

Title: One Word. Three Numbers. A Colon.

We don’t like to talk about death.
It makes us uncomfortable.
It reminds us of our limits.
It forces us to confront something we can’t outrun, outsmart, or outlive.

But here’s the truth:
You won’t live forever.
Neither will I.

It doesn’t matter who you are, what you own, what you believe, or how loudly you deny it—death is coming. And not just for someone else. It’s coming for you.

That might sound harsh, but it’s real.
And reality has no need to ask our permission.

Some believe in God.
Some say they don’t.
Some believe in Heaven.
Others scoff at the idea of Hell.
Some believe that this life is all there is, and that when we die, we simply cease to exist.

But let me ask you:
What if you’re wrong?
What if there is something after this life?
What if eternity is not a myth, but your next destination?

There’s one question that all of humanity, at some point, wrestles with:
👉 “What happens after I die?”

It’s the question whispered in hospital rooms.
It’s the fear buried under laughter at funerals.
It’s the uneasy thought that haunts even the most confident unbeliever.
And while philosophers debate it, science avoids it, and religions contradict one another about it—Jesus answers it with clarity:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
— John 14:6 (KJV)

One word.
Three numbers.
And a colon.
That’s your answer: John 14:6

Not just a Bible verse—a life-changing declaration.

Let’s break it down:

  • “I am the way” – Not a way. The way. No detours. No shortcuts. No substitutes.

  • “The truth” – Not subjective truth. Not relative truth. Eternal, unchanging, divine truth.

  • “The life” – Not just existence. Not just breath in your lungs. Jesus offers abundant, eternal life.

  • “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – No one gets to God without Jesus. Not by good works. Not by religion. Not by intention. Only by grace through faith in Him.

So, back to the question:
What happens after you die?

That depends on what you do with Jesus before you die.

Eternity is too long to be wrong.
Don’t bet your soul on a guess.
Don’t risk forever on your feelings.

Choose truth. Choose Christ. Choose life.

If you’ve never made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, I urge you—right here, right now—to do so. Don’t wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow isn’t promised. But eternity is.

Now it’s your move.

Scripture Focus:

  • John 14:6

  • Hebrews 9:27 – “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

  • Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

  • Acts 4:12 – “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven… whereby we must be saved.”
