When Our Ways Collide With God’s Ways
📖 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. — Isaiah 55:8
The longer many of us walk with the Lord, the more we discover a humbling truth: our ways are often not His ways.
We tend to think we know what is best—what direction life should take, what doors should open, and how quickly God should answer our prayers. Yet time and experience teach us that God’s wisdom reaches far beyond our limited understanding. What we thought was the right path may not have been His plan at all.
Surprisingly, our greatest obstacle is often not the devil or the circumstances around us. More often than not, our greatest struggle is with ourselves—the person we see every day in the mirror. Pride, fear, stubbornness, and our desire to remain in control make it difficult to fully yield to God.
Surrender does not usually come easily or quickly. Many believers wrestle with God just as Jacob did in the Old Testament. Yet eventually—sometimes through trials, sometimes through quiet conviction—we reach that moment when we let go and let God.
The question for each of us today is this:
Where are you in this journey called life?
Are you pliable clay in the Master’s hands, willing to be shaped and molded according to His will? Or are you still wrestling with God, trying to hold onto control of your own plans?
God’s ways are higher, wiser, and far more eternal than our own. When we finally surrender our will to His, we often discover that the life He leads us into is far greater than the one we were trying to build ourselves.
