πŸ“Œ Question of the Week — April 16, 2026

From: Freya, 21 — Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Question:
“Hi Pastor James. I love your blog—it’s right on time. My question is personal, yet I believe it applies to everyone who calls themselves a Christian. I’ve tried to explain it to my friends, but the words just don’t come out right. Please help me: Why should I give my heart to Jesus Christ?

Response:
Freya, that’s a beautiful name. Thank you for your courage—and for trusting me with such an important question. You are not alone; many are asking the same thing.

This question strikes at the very core of the Christian faith. To the non-believer, it often raises the question, “Saved from what?” To the believer, it reveals why Jesus came, why we trust Him, and what we are being saved into—not just what we are saved from.

In a culture shaped by self-sufficiency, spiritual apathy, and moral relativism, the message of salvation must be shared with both clarity and compassion.

Our world is filled with competing voices about truth, purpose, and identity. The idea of “being saved” may seem outdated to some, yet the evidence of a broken world is undeniable—wars, division, addiction, and despair.

What does this reveal? That salvation is not merely a theological concept—it is the heart cry of humanity. A cry for peace, purpose, forgiveness, and restoration.

An old proverb says it well: To know is to love, and to love is to know.

We would love to walk with you on this journey. Reach out to us, and we’ll even send you a copy of Your First Steps in Walking with God.

Thank you again, Freya. I pray your question opens doors for your friends to come to the foot of the Cross. ❤️

🌿 God’s Sovereignty in the Smallest Details — Words of Encouragement

πŸ“– “And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.” — Esther 10:1 (KJV)

At first glance, Esther 10:1 may seem like a simple historical note about taxation. But when viewed through the lens of faith, it reveals something far greater—God’s sovereignty over every detail of history.

Throughout the book of Esther, we witness God orchestrating events behind the scenes. Esther’s rise to the throne, Mordecai’s steadfast faith, and the dramatic downfall of Haman all point to a divine plan unfolding with precision.

Even something as routine as a king imposing tribute reminds us that God is at work—not only in the extraordinary moments, but also in the ordinary.

Just as God used the decisions of King Ahasuerus to fulfill His purpose, He is also working through the everyday circumstances of your life. Nothing is too small. Nothing is overlooked.

God is always working—guiding your steps, arranging events, and fulfilling His will for His glory and your good.

Trust Him in the details.

πŸ™ Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your sovereignty over every detail of my life—both big and small. Help me to trust that You are always working behind the scenes for my good and Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

πŸ™ When God Says No: Is It Wrong to Ask “Why?”

We’ve all been there. We prayed. We believed. We trusted. Yet the answer we hoped for never came. In those moments, a question rises from deep within the heart: “Why, Lord?”

Is it wrong to ask God why?

No—it’s not wrong. It’s human.

Throughout Scripture, faithful men and women asked God “why.” David cried out in the Psalms. Job questioned in his suffering. Even Jesus, on the cross, said, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” These were not acts of rebellion, but expressions of relationship.

God is not afraid of your questions. He welcomes your honesty.

But here is the key: there is a difference between asking “why” in faith and asking “why” in doubt. One seeks understanding while still trusting. The other questions God’s character.

Sometimes God’s answer is “no.” Sometimes it is “not yet.” And sometimes, it is “I have something better.” What we must remember is this: God sees what we cannot see. His perspective is eternal, while ours is momentary.

What feels like denial may actually be protection.
What feels like silence may actually be preparation.
What feels like loss may actually be redirection.

Faith is not proven when the answer is yes—it is revealed when the answer is no, and we still trust Him.

So ask your questions. Pour out your heart. But anchor your soul in this truth: God is good, even when life is not. His love has not changed. His plan has not failed.

And in time—whether in this life or the next—He will make all things clear.

Until then… trust Him.

πŸŒ… Good Morning — April 16, 2026

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)

Good morning! As you step into this new day, remember—this day did not come by accident. It is a gift, hand-crafted by God, filled with purpose, opportunity, and grace.

No matter what yesterday held—victories or setbacks—today is a fresh start. God’s mercies are new every morning. His strength is available. His presence is near.

Take a moment before the noise of the day begins. Center your heart. Fix your thoughts on Him. Invite God into your plans, your decisions, your conversations, and even your challenges.

Walk in faith. Speak life. Choose peace. Extend grace.

And remember—you are not walking this day alone.

πŸ™ Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of this new day. Thank You for Your mercy, Your love, and Your faithfulness that never fails.

Lord, guide my steps today. Order my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Help me to walk in wisdom, humility, and strength. Where there is uncertainty, give me clarity. Where there is weakness, be my strength. Where there is fear, fill me with Your peace.

Use me today, Lord, to be a light to someone in need. Let my life reflect Your love and truth in all that I do.

Protect my family, my loved ones, and those in need around the world. And may everything I do today bring glory and honor to Your name.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🌍 A Call to Reach the World: Become a World Outreach Partner

Around 10% of the world’s population—roughly 800–840 million people—live in extreme poverty. That’s 1 in every 10 people struggling daily for food, shelter, hope… and often, without ever hearing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

But you can help change that.

Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, pastored by retired U.S. Navy veteran James Langston, is committed to going into the highways and byways of life—reaching the overlooked, the underserved, and the forgotten. From the United States to the Philippines and beyond, we are ministering to the whole person: mind, body, soul, and spirit.

We are feeding the hungry, supporting families, reaching children, and sharing the Gospel where it is needed most. But we cannot do it alone.

We are calling on World Outreach Partners—people who will stand with us through prayer, faith, and financial support—to help bring hope where there is despair, light where there is darkness, and truth where there is confusion.

Every act of generosity becomes a seed of transformation. Every partnership becomes a bridge to someone in need. Every gift helps us tell one more soul about Jesus Christ.

This is more than a cause—it’s a calling.

Will you answer?

Together, we can make a difference that reaches beyond borders and into eternity.

⏳ What’s Next? A World in Motion, A God Unchanging

With all the commotion and constant motion in our world today, one question echoes in the hearts of many: “What’s next?”

Nations are shifting. Economies are uncertain. Lives are being shaken. Yet in the midst of it all, God is neither surprised nor silent. I believe we are entering a season where we will witness undeniable miracles—manifestations not only of God’s power, but of His love, patience, and long-suffering toward humanity.

These moments are not ΡΠ»ΡƒΡ‡Π°ΠΉΠ½ΠΎΡΡ‚ΡŒ—they are mercy.

They are reminders that God is still calling, still reaching, still giving opportunity for hearts to turn back to Him. But make no mistake—this is all building toward something greater… the Rapture of the Church.

Scripture reminds us that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The signs are aligning. The urgency is real.

So what should we do?

Be about our Father’s business.
Pray like it matters—because it does.
Love like Christ—without condition.
Share the Gospel—without hesitation.
Live ready—without compromise.

Time is not as abundant as we think. Every day is an opportunity. Every moment is a gift. Every soul matters.

Let us not be distracted by the noise of the world, but focused on the voice of God.

If you’ve been wondering “what’s next?”—perhaps the better question is, “Am I ready?”

We love you, we’re praying for you, and we invite you to partner with us as we take the Gospel to the nations:

πŸ† The Truth Behind the Game: What Are We Really Cheering For?

In a world where records are broken, champions are crowned, and greatness is celebrated, a critical question often goes unasked: What is the true cost of winning?

Introducing Drugs in Sports: Truth vs. Perception — The Price to Be the Best by James Langston:
πŸ‘‰ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GVF54571

This powerful and eye-opening book pulls back the curtain on one of the most controversial issues in modern athletics—performance-enhancing drugs. It goes beyond headlines and statistics to expose the deeper reality: the pressure athletes face, the culture of expectation, and the dangerous decisions made in pursuit of success.

Langston doesn’t just examine what is happening in sports—he explores why. Through real-life insights, cultural analysis, and a compelling spiritual perspective, the book reveals how the desire to compete can evolve into dependency, risking health, integrity, and even identity.

For sports enthusiasts, this book is essential reading. It challenges fans, athletes, coaches, and parents alike to rethink what “winning” truly means. Is it medals and fame—or character, integrity, and truth? In an era where the integrity of sports is increasingly questioned, this book serves as both a wake-up call and a roadmap toward restoration and purpose.

And here’s what makes your purchase even more meaningful:
Every copy sold is an investment in the missionary work of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International in the Philippines—helping rebuild lives, restore hope, and minister to the whole person: mind, body, soul, and spirit.

This is more than a book about sports.
It’s a message about truth, choices, and the unseen cost of compromise.
