The Question That Determines Eternity

Can God condemn a man to hell, burn him there forever, and justify Himself in doing so?

This question has troubled the hearts of many people. Some reject the idea entirely, believing a loving God could never allow such a thing. Others dismiss the subject altogether and choose not to think about eternity.

But here is the reality: what a person believes outside of the truth of Scripture carries no weight in eternity. Our opinions, philosophies, and personal beliefs will not determine what happens after death. Only God’s truth will.

The Bible consistently teaches that God is both perfectly loving and perfectly just. Hell is not presented as a place God delights in sending people, but as the ultimate consequence of rejecting Him and the salvation He offers through Jesus Christ.

The sobering truth is that eternity does not hinge on our feelings about God—it hinges on whether we accept or reject the one name given for salvation: Jesus Christ.

So let me ask you a serious question:

Are you so certain that death leads only to emptiness—or something other than what the Bible teaches—that you are willing to bet your eternity on it?

Eternity is far too important to ignore.

Research the Scriptures. Ask questions. Seek the truth. Make sure you know the answer to the most important question any person will ever face:

Where will you spend eternity?

Question of the Week
📌 March 12, 2026

From: Kendall, 15 — Nome, Alaska

Question:
Hi Pastor James. I’m Kendall, and I have a question.

If God is good, why does He allow suffering? My grandparents died last year, and it hurts every time I think about them. Why didn’t God spare their lives, or at least delay their deaths until I was older? I’m really confused right now and could use some sound advice.

Response:
Hi Kendall. Thank you for asking a question that many people—young and old—quietly carry in their hearts.

When we experience loss, it can feel overwhelming because we see life through the lens of the present moment. God, however, sees life through the lens of eternity. What feels sudden and painful to us is not outside His understanding or His care.

Suffering is one of the most difficult realities of life, yet throughout Scripture we see that God often uses it to shape hearts, deepen faith, and draw people closer to Him. Pain has a way of stripping away our sense of control and reminding us how deeply we need God.

That doesn’t mean God delights in suffering. Far from it. The Bible shows us that God enters into our pain. He walks beside us in our grief, comforts us in our tears, and promises a future where sorrow and death will one day be no more.

Your love for your grandparents is a beautiful testimony of the bond you shared with them. Their passing does not erase the love, lessons, and memories they left in your life. In many ways, those gifts continue shaping who you are becoming.

The question, “If God is good, why does He allow suffering?” may not have a simple answer—but it does have a hopeful one: God never abandons us in our pain. He uses even the hardest moments to draw us closer to Him and to remind us that this life is not the end of the story.

Your future is not uncertain to God. He already sees the road ahead. Walk with Him today, and He will guide you tomorrow.

🌿 Daily Encouragement — March 12, 2026 🌿
Faithfulness in Every Season

📖 “Now King David was old, advanced in years; and they put covers on him, but he could not get warm.” — 1 Kings 1:1

As David’s life draws to a close in this verse, we see a powerful reminder of the journey of life. The young shepherd who once stood boldly before Goliath, the warrior-king who led Israel through victories and trials, is now old and frail. Time has touched him as it touches us all.

David’s life was not perfect. It was filled with triumphs, failures, repentance, courage, and moments of deep dependence upon God. Yet through every season—strength and weakness, youth and age—one truth remained constant: God was faithful.

The same God who stood with David in the valley facing Goliath was with him in the quiet, fragile moments of his final days. God’s presence did not diminish with David’s strength. His faithfulness did not fade with age.

This passage reminds us that every season of life matters. When we are young and full of energy, God calls us to serve Him with passion. When life becomes difficult, uncertain, or physically limiting, He still walks beside us with purpose and grace.

Your usefulness to God is not measured by your age, your strength, or your circumstances. It is measured by your faithfulness.

Today is another opportunity to trust Him, honor Him, and glorify Him—no matter what season you are walking through.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, help me honor You in every season of life. Remind me that Your faithfulness never changes, no matter my strength or circumstances. Teach me to trust You completely. Amen.

From Spectators to Servants — The Time to Act Is Now

There comes a moment in every believer’s life when the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit asks a simple but piercing question: “Will you only watch… or will you help?”

For far too long, many of us have been spectators. We read the posts, watch the videos, hear the testimonies, and say, “Someone should do something about that.” Yet the truth is this: the Gospel has never advanced because of spectators. It moves forward because ordinary people choose to participate.

Every day, ministries around the world stand on the front lines of a spiritual battlefield. Missionaries preach where the Gospel has rarely been heard. Churches are planted where hope once seemed impossible. Children hear the name of Jesus for the first time. Lives are transformed, families are restored, and souls are saved.

But none of this happens in isolation.

Behind every missionary stands someone who prayed. Behind every outreach stands someone who believed. Behind every ministry stands someone who gave.

Reaching the world for Jesus Christ is not someone else’s responsibility. It is not reserved for pastors, missionaries, or organizations alone. It belongs to every believer who has ever experienced the grace and mercy of God.

Some will go. Many cannot. But everyone can help.

Your prayers strengthen the work.
Your faith encourages those who labor.
Your generosity makes the mission possible.

When we stand together, we become part of something far greater than ourselves—the great commission to carry the light of Christ into a dark world.

So perhaps the question today is not “Who will do it?”

Perhaps the question is simply this: “Will I?”
