You can stop the hollering, the kicking, the screaming, the shouting, and the panicking.
God heard you the first time.

Prayer is not about volume—it’s about trust. When you’ve prayed sincerely, you’ve already been heard by a God who is attentive, compassionate, and faithful. What comes next is often the hardest part: waiting.

Waiting doesn’t mean God is silent.
Waiting doesn’t mean He is slow.
Waiting doesn’t mean He has forgotten you.

Waiting is where faith matures. It’s where patience is shaped. It’s where surrender replaces striving.

February Is Black History Month — Remembering, Honoring, Continuing

February is Black History Month, a time set aside to recognize, remember, and honor the immeasurable contributions of African Americans to history, culture, faith, education, leadership, and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality.

The purpose of Black History Month is not only remembrance, but recognition—to ensure that stories once overlooked or excluded are preserved, taught, and celebrated. Black history is American history, and its lessons continue to shape our present and our future.

The 2026 theme, announced by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), is
“A Century of Black History Commemorations.”
This theme marks 100 years since the founding of Negro History Week in 1926 and reflects on a full century of intentional efforts to study, preserve, and honor Black life, culture, and achievement. It reminds us that remembrance itself is an act of resistance, truth, and dignity.

A brief history:
Black History Month began in 1926, when historian Carter G. Woodson established Negro History Week to encourage the study of Black history in schools and communities. February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. In 1976, the observance was officially expanded and recognized nationwide as Black History Month.

As people of faith, we understand the power of remembrance. Scripture calls us to remember, to teach, and to pass wisdom from one generation to the next. When history is honored truthfully, identity is restored—and hope is strengthened.

🌍 Natural Disasters: Coincidence or a Warning? 🌍

Around the world, natural disasters are increasing in both frequency and intensity. What once felt rare now feels constant. Earthquakes, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, and extreme heat events are no longer isolated headlines—they are ongoing realities affecting millions of lives.

In recent years we have seen:

• Stronger hurricanes making landfall with unprecedented rainfall and destruction

• Wildfires burning longer, hotter, and across wider regions

• Flooding overwhelming communities that have never experienced it before

• Earthquakes and volcanic activity disrupting entire regions with little warning

These events leave behind more than physical damage—they leave grief, displacement, hunger, and deep uncertainty.

So the question must be asked—not with fear, but with discernment:
Is this coincidence… or a warning?

Jesus Himself spoke of “earthquakes in divers places” and “distress of nations” (Luke 21). The Bible reminds us that creation groans, and that shaking often precedes awakening. These moments are not given to paralyze us, but to call us to reflection, repentance, compassion, and action.

As followers of Christ, our response is not panic—but prayer.
Not speculation—but service.
