🔥📖 PROPHECY: A WORD IN DUE SEASON — WHEN GOD SPEAKS, WILL WE LISTEN?
🚨 THE WORLD IS CHANGING! DECEPTION IS INCREASING! BUT GOD'S WORD HAS NOT CHANGED!
Are we listening to the voice of God—or merely listening to those who claim to speak for Him?

📖 OUR SCRIPTURAL FOUNDATION
“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” — 2 Peter 1:21 (KJV)
🌍 1. WE ARE LIVING IN TROUBLING TIMES—BUT ARE WE DISCERNING THE TIMES?
Look around our world today.
Wars and rumors of wars. Political upheaval. Economic uncertainty. Natural disasters. Moral confusion. Religious deception. Churches struggling with compromise. Families searching for answers.
Everywhere we turn, someone seems to be announcing what will happen next.
Some proclaim impending judgment. Others promise extraordinary prosperity. Still others insist they possess exclusive revelations about the future.
And amid all these competing voices, an important question demands an answer:
WHO IS ACTUALLY SPEAKING FOR GOD?
It is a question that every serious believer should be willing to ask.
Not every person who quotes Scripture understands Scripture.
Not every person who claims a prophetic calling has been commissioned by God.
And not every prediction, vision, dream, or declaration that sounds spiritual originates with the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Himself warned:
“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” — Matthew 24:11 (KJV)
CHURCH, WE NEED MORE THAN EXCITEMENT. WE NEED DISCERNMENT!
That is one of the central messages behind my earlier book, PROPHECY: A Word in Due Season.
And I believe its message deserves renewed attention.
🔥 2. PROPHECY IS NOT A PERFORMANCE—IT IS A SACRED RESPONSIBILITY!
Over the years, I have witnessed the tremendous encouragement that comes when God's Word is faithfully proclaimed.
I have also seen the confusion and spiritual harm that can occur when people claim divine authority for words God has not spoken.
Some have turned prophecy into a spectacle.
Others have treated it as a means of gaining influence, recognition, or financial advantage.
And still others have become so fascinated with predicting tomorrow that they have neglected their responsibility to obey God today.
THAT IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY!
The Apostle Paul wrote:
“But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.” — 1 Corinthians 14:3 (KJV)
Notice those three important words:
EDIFICATION. EXHORTATION. COMFORT.
Biblical prophecy is not intended to entertain an audience or elevate someone's personal reputation.
It should direct attention toward God, remain consistent with Scripture, and serve His purposes.
And when someone claims to speak prophetically, that message must be tested rather than accepted simply because it was delivered with passion or confidence.
THE LOUDNESS OF A VOICE DOES NOT ESTABLISH ITS DIVINE AUTHORITY!
📖 3. WHAT EXACTLY IS PROPHECY—AND WHAT IS IT NOT?
One reason I wrote PROPHECY: A Word in Due Season was to help believers understand this important biblical subject without becoming trapped in sensationalism or fear.
Many people associate prophecy exclusively with predicting future events.
But the biblical discussion is broader.
Prophetic ministry involves both foretelling and forthtelling.
Foretelling concerns the revelation of events yet to occur, as illustrated throughout biblical prophecy.
Forthtelling involves faithfully proclaiming God's truth, confronting wrongdoing, encouraging repentance, and calling people back to righteousness.
Both require careful attention to God's Word.
And neither gives anyone permission to invent messages, manipulate people, or place personal opinions on the same level as Scripture.
Consider the instruction found in 1 Thessalonians 5:20–21:
“Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” (KJV)
What a balanced command!
We are not told to reject everything.
Neither are we instructed to believe everything.
WE ARE COMMANDED TO TEST EVERYTHING!
That principle alone could spare many believers from unnecessary confusion, disappointment, and spiritual deception.
🚨 4. FALSE PROPHETS, DECEPTIVE WORDS, AND THE DANGER OF SPIRITUAL MANIPULATION
One of the most important subjects addressed in this book concerns false prophets and deceptive messages.
Let me ask you something.
HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HURT BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD THEM, “GOD SAID,” WHEN GOD HAD NOT SPOKEN?
How many families have made life-changing decisions based upon supposed revelations that never came to pass?
How many believers have been pressured into giving money, abandoning relationships, or making dangerous choices because someone claimed special spiritual authority?
And how many have walked away from the Church, deeply disappointed, because a confident prediction proved false?
These are not insignificant matters.
The Bible repeatedly warns God's people about deception.
Jeremiah 23:16 cautions against prophets who speak visions from their own hearts rather than from the mouth of the Lord.
And 1 John 4:1 instructs believers to test the spirits because many false prophets have gone into the world.
A TRUE MESSAGE FROM GOD DOES NOT NEED DECEPTION, INTIMIDATION, OR MANIPULATION TO ESTABLISH ITS AUTHORITY!
We must be willing to examine what is being taught, compare it with Scripture, and refuse to surrender our discernment to personalities, titles, or impressive religious performances.
⛪ 5. WHAT DOES PROPHECY HAVE TO DO WITH THE LOCAL CHURCH?
Everything, when understood biblically.
The Church is not merely a gathering place for religious activity.
It is a spiritual family called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, teach sound doctrine, encourage believers, and make disciples.
Within that setting, the exercise of spiritual gifts must be governed by biblical truth, love, accountability, and order.
The Apostle Paul reminds us:
“Let all things be done decently and in order.” — 1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)
Spiritual gifts were never intended to create competing centers of authority or to place certain individuals beyond correction.
They were given for the building up of Christ's body.
In PROPHECY, I examine the relationship between prophetic ministry and the local Church, including the importance of accountability, spiritual maturity, and submission to Scripture.
THE CHURCH DOES NOT NEED MORE PERSONALITIES CLAIMING TO BE IMPORTANT.
THE CHURCH NEEDS MORE SERVANTS WHO ARE WILLING TO BE FAITHFUL!
🔥 6. REVIVAL WITHOUT REPENTANCE IS ONLY RELIGIOUS EXCITEMENT!
We hear a great deal about revival today.
People pray for it.
Churches announce it.
Ministers preach about it.
And believers long to experience a fresh movement of God.
But we must ask ourselves an uncomfortable question:
DO WE WANT GOD TO CHANGE OUR CIRCUMSTANCES—OR ARE WE WILLING TO LET HIM CHANGE OUR HEARTS?
Genuine spiritual renewal cannot be separated from repentance, obedience, humility, and a return to biblical truth.
It is possible to become emotionally excited during a worship service and remain spiritually unchanged afterward.
It is possible to hear powerful preaching and still refuse to forgive someone.
And it is possible to talk about holiness while continuing to excuse the very behaviors Scripture condemns.
GOD IS NOT IMPRESSED BY OUR RELIGIOUS EXCITEMENT IF WE REFUSE TO OBEY HIS WORD!
The prophetic message throughout Scripture repeatedly called people to turn away from sin and return to the Lord.
That message remains relevant.
Not because we can identify every present-day event as the fulfillment of a particular prophecy, but because God's standards of truth, righteousness, and holiness have not changed.
🌏 7. FROM THE PULPIT TO THE MISSION FIELD—TRUTH MUST TRAVEL!
As Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, I have had the privilege of sharing God's Word across cultural and geographical boundaries.
Our ongoing missionary work here in the Philippines continually reminds me that people everywhere need truth, encouragement, and hope.
But they also need spiritual discernment.
Whether someone lives in the United States, the Philippines, or elsewhere, the dangers of deception are real.
People who are suffering, frightened, or desperate for answers can become especially vulnerable to those promising supernatural solutions.
That is why we must be careful never to exploit someone's suffering in the name of God.
Our responsibility is to point people toward Jesus Christ, teach them to understand Scripture, and encourage them to develop a mature and personal walk with the Lord.
THE GOSPEL IS NOT FOR SALE. GOD'S TRUTH IS NOT A BARGAINING CHIP. AND PROPHECY IS NOT A TOOL FOR PERSONAL GAIN!
The same biblical principles that guide us in the pulpit must guide us on the mission field.
📚 8. WHAT WILL YOU DISCOVER IN PROPHECY: A WORD IN DUE SEASON?
This book contains 12 theologically grounded chapters, designed to challenge readers to examine the prophetic ministry through the lens of Scripture.
Among the important subjects explored are:
What prophecy is—and what it is not: Understanding its biblical purpose and limitations.
The importance of prophecy in the Church: Recognizing spiritual gifts without abandoning discernment.
False prophets and deceptive words: Learning to identify teachings and claims that contradict Scripture.
Foretelling and forthtelling: Understanding the distinction between prediction and proclamation.
The cost of speaking truth: Remaining faithful when biblical convictions are unpopular.
Prophecy and the local Church: Exploring spiritual accountability, order, and responsibility.
Revival and repentance: Recognizing that genuine spiritual renewal requires more than emotion.
The final hour prophets: Examining the responsibility of believers amid spiritual confusion and competing claims.
The book also includes Scripture-based reflection points, a Reader's Reflection section titled “What Is the Spirit Saying to You?”, and a concluding reminder:
“THE LAST WORD IS HIS.”
Not mine.
Not yours.
Not the most popular preacher on television or social media.
GOD'S WORD MUST REMAIN OUR FINAL AUTHORITY!
❤️ 9. WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK?
I did not write PROPHECY exclusively for pastors, theologians, or those involved in prophetic ministry.
I wrote it for people who genuinely want to understand what Scripture teaches.
It is especially relevant for believers seeking spiritual discernment, pastors and ministry leaders, intercessors and prayer partners, Bible study groups, those exploring prophetic gifts, and Christians who have become discouraged by misleading religious claims.
It is also for anyone who has ever asked:
“HOW CAN I KNOW WHETHER SOMETHING REALLY CAME FROM GOD?”
That is a question worth investigating carefully.
And the answer begins with the Word of God.
🙏 10. A PERSONAL WORD FROM PASTOR JAMES
I have been walking with the Lord for more than five decades.
During those years, I have learned that spiritual maturity is not measured by how many revelations someone claims to receive.
It is measured, in part, by faithfulness, humility, obedience, love, and a willingness to submit to God's Word.
I have also learned that not everything we encounter in life requires a prophetic explanation.
Sometimes we simply need to pray.
Sometimes we need to study Scripture.
Sometimes we need to seek wise counsel.
And sometimes we need to acknowledge that we do not know what tomorrow holds.
FAITH DOES NOT REQUIRE US TO PRETEND WE KNOW WHAT GOD HAS NOT REVEALED!
I believe the Church needs to rediscover the difference between spiritual confidence and spiritual presumption.
We can trust God completely without claiming to understand everything He is doing.
We can proclaim biblical truth boldly without inventing revelations.
And we can remain watchful and prayerful without surrendering to fear.
That is the spirit in which I encourage you to read PROPHECY: A Word in Due Season.
Not merely to acquire more information.
But to become more discerning, more faithful, and more deeply rooted in Scripture.
🔥 11. THE TIME FOR TRUTH IS NOW!
Dear reader, allow me to leave you with a final challenge.
DO NOT BUILD YOUR FAITH UPON SOMEONE ELSE'S CLAIM TO HAVE HEARD FROM GOD!
Build your faith upon Jesus Christ and the truth of His Word.
Read your Bible.
Pray for wisdom.
Examine what you hear.
Refuse to be manipulated by fear.
And never allow the excitement surrounding a supposed prophecy to become more important than obedience to the clear teachings of Scripture.
SPEAK TRUTH. STAND FIRM. SHINE LIGHT!
Those words summarize the challenge of PROPHECY: A Word in Due Season.
We do not need to manufacture a message from God.
We need to be faithful to the message He has already given us.
WHEN GOD SPEAKS, HIS WORD MATTERS.
WHEN SCRIPTURE WARNS, WE MUST PAY ATTENTION.
AND WHEN TRUTH CALLS US TO RESPOND, WE MUST NOT TURN AWAY!
