🎄 CHRISTMAS 2026 — UPDATE #9! 🇵🇭

❤️ WE'RE HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES. THE NEEDS ARE REAL. THE CHILDREN ARE WAITING. WILL YOU HELP US REACH 500 FAMILIES?

51 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! 500 FAMILIES! ONE ETERNAL MISSION!

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." — Luke 2:11 (KJV)

❤️ DEAR FRIENDS, FAMILY, PRAYER PARTNERS, AND SUPPORTERS,

Today is November 4, 2026.

Christmas is just 51 days away!

And this time, I'm writing to you from the Philippines.

That may not sound particularly significant to some of you, but believe me, it makes a difference.

Cecilia and I arrived back in the Philippines on November 2, and we're once again on the ground, where the needs of the people we serve are no longer separated from us by thousands of miles.

We're here.

We're seeing.

We're listening.

We're praying.

And we're preparing.

But there's something else we're doing.

WE'RE ASKING GOD TO TOUCH THE HEARTS OF PEOPLE WHO CAN HELP US HELP THEM!

I want to speak to you today not simply as the Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, but as a husband, father, grandfather, missionary, and someone who has learned that compassion means very little if we're never willing to put it into action.

And I want to ask you something very personal.

If you knew that your involvement could help make Christmas a little brighter for a struggling family, would you consider becoming part of what we're doing?

Before you answer, please allow me a few minutes of your time.

🇵🇭 WHAT WE SEE HERE IS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT YOU SEE ON A SCREEN

There's something about being physically present that changes your perspective.

When you're thousands of miles away, you can read about poverty.

You can watch news reports about flooding, typhoons, earthquakes, and damaged communities.

You can see photographs of children living in difficult circumstances.

And you can genuinely feel compassion.

But when you're here, things become much more personal.

The needs are no longer simply headlines.

They're people.

They're families.

They're children.

They're mothers and fathers doing their best to provide for their households.

They're grandparents who want something better for their grandchildren.

They're individuals who, like you and me, have hopes, dreams, worries, and responsibilities.

And some are facing circumstances that make even the simplest things in life extraordinarily difficult.

I don't share these things to make anyone feel guilty.

I share them because these families deserve to be seen, remembered, and treated with dignity.

And sometimes, my friends, what is out of sight gradually becomes out of mind.

I don't want that to happen.

Not to these families.

Not to these children.

And certainly not as Christmas approaches.

🎁 LAST YEAR WE PLANNED FOR 100 FAMILIES. NEARLY 200 CAME!

I remember our Christmas outreach last year.

We prepared for 100 families.

We prayed.

We planned.

We gathered what we could.

And when the time came, nearly 200 families showed up!

Think about that.

We prepared for 100.

Nearly 200 came!

There were Christmas meals, singing, laughter, fellowship, gifts, biblical teaching, and opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There were children receiving presents.

Families gathering together.

And people hearing a message of hope.

Was everything perfect?

Of course not!

Were there challenges?

Absolutely!

But did we see God working through the willingness of ordinary people to help other ordinary people?

YES, WE DID!

And now, one year later, we're stepping out in faith again.

Only this time, our goal is considerably larger.

🎄 500 FAMILIES FOR CHRISTMAS 2026!

Not 500 statistics.

Not 500 names on a fundraising report.

500 FAMILIES WHO MATTER TO GOD!

And if they matter to Him, they ought to matter to us.

💔 CAN I MAKE THIS A LITTLE MORE PERSONAL?

Imagine for a moment that Christmas morning has arrived.

Your children are awake.

Perhaps there's a Christmas tree in the corner.

Maybe there are presents waiting to be opened.

There's food in the kitchen.

Family members are gathering.

And the atmosphere is filled with anticipation.

Now imagine another household.

There may be no Christmas tree.

There may be no presents.

There may be little food beyond what the family can afford that day.

The parents may be wondering how they'll provide their next meal, let alone something special for Christmas.

And the children?

They're still children.

They still dream.

They still hope.

They still get excited about Christmas.

And they still want to know that someone cares.

Now, please understand me.

I'm not suggesting that every struggling Filipino family experiences Christmas this way.

Nor am I suggesting that happiness depends upon receiving gifts.

I've met people with very little materially who possess extraordinary joy, generosity, and faith.

But I am saying that financial hardship should not make a family invisible to the rest of us.

And if we have an opportunity to bring encouragement, practical assistance, and the love of Christ into someone's life, shouldn't we at least consider it?

That's what this Christmas campaign is about.

✝️ WE'RE NOT JUST DISTRIBUTING GIFTS. WE'RE SHARING THE GREATEST GIFT!

I want to be very clear about something.

Our Christmas outreach is not simply a toy distribution.

It's not merely a community meal.

And it's not an event designed to produce impressive photographs or numbers for a ministry report.

OUR PURPOSE IS TO DEMONSTRATE THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST IN WAYS THAT PEOPLE CAN SEE, HEAR, AND EXPERIENCE!

We want to provide, as resources permit:

  • 🍽️ Christmas meals — so families can enjoy food, fellowship, and a meaningful celebration.

  • 🧸 Toys and Christmas gifts — to bring encouragement and joy to children.

  • 📚 School supplies — because education is important long after Christmas has passed.

  • 👕 Clothing and school uniforms — to help address practical family needs.

  • 📖 Bibles and biblical instruction — to introduce people to the Word of God.

  • 🙏 Prayer and personal encouragement — because emotional and spiritual needs matter too.

  • ✝️ The Gospel of Jesus Christ — because Christmas is ultimately about the birth of our Savior.

We want people to know that they are loved.

That they have not been forgotten.

And that their circumstances do not diminish their worth.

Our practical assistance is offered as an expression of Christian love, not as something families must earn by responding to our message.

The Gospel is freely shared.

And compassion should be freely demonstrated.

⏳ 51 DAYS! THAT'S NOT AS MUCH TIME AS IT SOUNDS!

My friends, Christmas will be here before we know it.

And here's something that may surprise you.

The most important part of Christmas outreach often happens long before Christmas Day.

Food must be purchased.

Gifts must be gathered.

School supplies must be obtained.

Transportation must be arranged.

Volunteers must be organized.

Locations must be prepared.

And the necessary funds must be available early enough to make responsible purchases and arrangements.

We cannot wait until December 24 and suddenly begin preparing to serve 500 families.

That's not planning.

That's hoping everything somehow falls into place at the last minute!

And after many years of ministry, I've learned that faith and preparation are not enemies.

They work together.

WE PRAY AS THOUGH EVERYTHING DEPENDS UPON GOD, AND WE WORK FAITHFULLY WITH WHAT HE HAS ENTRUSTED TO US!

The clock is moving.

And while we are trusting God for the resources, we also recognize that He often works through people willing to respond.

People like you.

🌎 TO EVERYONE WHO HAS VISITED OUR BLOG — I HAVE A PERSONAL REQUEST

When we published Christmas Update #8 on October 25, our ministry blog had recorded 39,972 visits.

What an extraordinary encouragement that was!

And our readership has continued to remind me how far a message can travel.

But I want to share something that's been on my heart.

A blog visit is encouraging. A shared message is helpful. But a family receiving the assistance it needs is the outcome we're working toward.

I am grateful for every person who reads our devotionals, follows our missionary work, listens to our Gospel music, watches our sermons, or purchases one of our books.

I genuinely am.

But today, I'm asking you to consider taking one additional step.

Not because you owe us anything.

You don't.

Not because reading our blog creates an obligation to give.

It doesn't.

But because you might be in a position to help someone who cannot help themselves in the same way right now.

Perhaps you can contribute financially.

Perhaps you can introduce us to a church or organization interested in missions.

Perhaps you can share our appeal with friends.

Or perhaps the most important thing you can do is pray.

WHATEVER YOU CAN SINCERELY DO, WE WOULD BE GRATEFUL!

💝 WHAT COULD YOUR GENEROSITY ACCOMPLISH?

Let me make this practical.

A financial contribution might help us purchase rice, food items, or ingredients for Christmas meals.

It might help provide notebooks, pencils, and school supplies.

It might help us purchase a toy for a child.

It might help with transportation or other necessary outreach expenses.

And contributions from several people, combined, can accomplish far more than any one of us might be able to do alone.

Maybe you can give $5.

Maybe $10.

Maybe $25, $50, or $100.

Maybe your church or organization could sponsor a portion of our Christmas outreach.

Or perhaps you know a business owner, professional athlete, philanthropist, or individual who has a heart for helping children and families.

Would you consider telling them about us?

We're not asking one person to carry the entire burden. We're inviting many people to share in one meaningful mission.

And please don't misunderstand the size of your contribution as a measure of its importance.

A person who gives $5 out of genuine compassion deserves our appreciation just as surely as someone who gives $500.

And someone who cannot give financially but faithfully prays for us is no less welcome as a ministry partner.

🙏 TO OUR FRIENDS WHO HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS CAMPAIGN

This is our ninth Christmas update.

Nine times we've returned to this subject because the mission remains important.

And I recognize that some of you have seen several of these appeals.

You may be wondering:

"Pastor James, are you going to keep asking?"

Well, let me answer that as sincerely as I know how.

As long as the need remains, the opportunity exists, and the Lord gives us strength to continue, we will keep doing what we can to help.

That doesn't mean every message will be a financial appeal.

And it certainly doesn't mean we're measuring anyone's faithfulness by whether they donate.

But I cannot be here, see the needs around us, and pretend they don't exist.

I cannot ask God to bless our ministry while refusing to do the work He's placed before us.

And I cannot expect people to know about an opportunity to help if we never tell them.

So yes, we'll continue sharing the mission.

We'll continue praying.

We'll continue preparing.

And we'll continue trusting God to bring the right people alongside us.

Because 500 families are worth the effort.

📖 WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT HELPING OTHERS?

First John 3:17 asks a powerful question:

"But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?" (KJV)

That's a Scripture worth thinking about.

It reminds us that love is more than a feeling.

Love responds.

Love notices.

Love considers the needs of others.

And sometimes love requires us to inconvenience ourselves for someone else's benefit.

James 2:15–16 likewise challenges us to consider what happens when we recognize someone's physical needs but offer only words without practical assistance.

My friends, I believe prayer is essential.

But I also believe that when we have the ability and opportunity to help, our actions should reflect the compassion we profess.

FAITH THAT SPEAKS SHOULD ALSO BE WILLING TO SERVE!

🇵🇭 CECILIA AND I ARE HERE. WILL YOU STAND WITH US?

One of the greatest blessings of missionary work is realizing that you are not supposed to accomplish everything alone.

Cecilia and I are here in the Philippines.

We're committed to the work.

We're willing to invest our time, energy, and resources.

And we're trusting God for the wisdom and strength to do what lies before us.

But the mission is larger than the two of us.

That's why prayer partners matter.

That's why volunteers matter.

That's why churches, organizations, businesses, friends, and supporters matter.

And that's why YOU matter!

You may never travel to the Philippines.

You may never meet the families we hope to serve.

You may never personally see the expression on a child's face when receiving a Christmas gift.

But through your prayers, generosity, and willingness to help, you can still be part of that moment.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE HERE PHYSICALLY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE HERE PERSONALLY!

And if financial giving isn't possible, please consider sharing this appeal with someone who may be interested.

❤️ BEFORE YOU CLOSE THIS PAGE, MAY I ASK ONE MORE THING?

I don't know what your financial circumstances are.

I don't know what obligations you're facing.

I don't know what challenges you may be dealing with in your own family.

And I certainly don't want anyone to neglect their responsibilities to support our ministry.

But I do know that sometimes God places an opportunity before us that allows us to become part of something much larger than ourselves.

This Christmas, our goal is to reach 500 Filipino families.

Will we accomplish everything we hope to do?

I cannot promise that.

Will we have every resource we need?

We're still working and praying toward that goal.

But I can promise this:

WE WILL CONTINUE DOING OUR BEST WITH WHAT GOD PROVIDES, AND WE WILL TRUST HIM FOR THE REST!

I hope that when Christmas arrives, we'll be able to look back and say:

We prayed.

We prepared.

We gave.

We served.

We shared the Gospel.

And together, we made a meaningful difference in the lives of families who needed encouragement.

Not because we were wealthy.

Not because we had unlimited resources.

Not because everything was easy.

BUT BECAUSE WE CARED ENOUGH TO DO SOMETHING!

🎄 51 DAYS. 500 FAMILIES. ONE ETERNAL MISSION!

So here's my personal invitation to you today.

Would you consider doing one of these three things before the day is over?

PRAY — Ask God to provide the people, resources, wisdom, and opportunities needed for this outreach.

SHARE — Send this message to at least one person, church, organization, or business that might be interested in helping.

GIVE — If you're financially able and feel led to participate, consider making a contribution toward Christmas 2026.

That's it.

No pressure.

No guilt.

Just an invitation to be part of something that matters.

And from Cecilia and me, thank you.

Thank you for reading.

Thank you for caring.

Thank you for praying.

Thank you for encouraging us.

And thank you for helping us carry the love of Jesus Christ to people who need to know that they have not been forgotten.

500 FAMILIES! ONE ETERNAL MISSION!

LET'S MAKE CHRISTMAS 2026 A CELEBRATION OF FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, AND THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL — JESUS CHRIST!

🙏 OUR CHRISTMAS 2026 PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing us safely back to the Philippines and allowing us another opportunity to serve the people of this beautiful nation.

Lord, You know the families we hope to reach this Christmas.

You know their circumstances.

You know their needs.

You know the children who need encouragement, the parents who are struggling, and the households facing difficulties that others may never see.

Father, we place this Christmas outreach in Your hands.

Give us wisdom to plan responsibly.

Provide willing volunteers, faithful prayer partners, and the resources necessary to accomplish the work before us.

Touch the hearts of those who are able to help.

Bless those who give, those who pray, and those who share this appeal.

And help us never forget that every person we serve is precious in Your sight.

May our actions reflect Your love.

May our words communicate Your truth.

And may the Gospel of Jesus Christ remain at the center of everything we do.

In Jesus' precious name, we pray.

AMEN AND AMEN!
