🙏 YOU DIDN’T JUST HAPPEN UPON THIS PRAYER
Maybe This Is Your Divine Appointment
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” — James 5:16
I know something about many of you reading this.
You don't have a church home.
Some of you haven't been inside a church in years.
Some have been hurt by churches or disappointed by people who called themselves Christians.
Some moved away and never found another church.
Some work schedules that make regular attendance difficult.
And some of you aren't even sure what you believe anymore.
But somehow—
YOU ENDED UP HERE.
And I am thankful you did.
Because I also know something else.
Some of you are facing giants nobody knows anything about.
You smile.
You go to work.
You answer the telephone.
You take care of your family.
You show up when you're supposed to show up.
And when someone asks how you're doing, you give the answer you've learned to give:
“I'm okay.”
But you're not okay.
And perhaps nobody knows it.
SOMETIMES PUTTING ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER IS HARD
There are battles we fight publicly.
And there are battles we fight behind closed doors.
Maybe yours is financial.
Maybe your marriage is struggling.
Maybe you're worried about one of your children.
Maybe you're grieving someone you loved.
Maybe you're frightened by something the doctor told you.
Maybe loneliness has become your constant companion.
Maybe you're fighting a temptation or addiction nobody knows about.
Maybe anxiety keeps you awake while everyone else sleeps.
Maybe you've prayed about something for months—or years—and heaven seems silent.
Or perhaps you cannot even explain what's wrong.
You simply know:
“PASTOR, I'M TIRED.”
If that's you, please don't leave yet.
There is a reason I wrote this post.
And there is a reason I recorded the prayer I'm about to share with you.
I RECORDED THIS PRAYER FOR YOU
Not merely a prayer about you.
I want to pray with you.
About what?
EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING.
Nothing is too small.
Nothing is too complicated.
Nothing is too embarrassing.
Nothing is too far gone.
Nothing you tell God will surprise Him.
He already knows.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
Notice that Scripture doesn't say:
Cast only your spiritual problems upon Him.
Cast only your emergencies upon Him.
Cast only the problems you cannot solve yourself upon Him.
It says:
“ALL YOUR CARE.”
That includes what kept you awake last night.
That includes what you're afraid may happen tomorrow.
That includes the bill you cannot pay.
That includes the relationship you don't know how to repair.
That includes the child you're worried about.
That includes the diagnosis.
That includes the temptation.
That includes the secret.
That includes the disappointment.
That includes the tears nobody saw.
BRING IT.
🙏 STOP HERE—AND PRAY WITH ME
I've recorded a special prayer and uploaded it to YouTube.
But please don't treat it like another video.
Don't play it in the background while doing something else.
Don't simply listen to me pray.
I WANT YOU TO PRAY WITH ME.
Before you click the link, find somewhere quiet if you can.
Turn off the distractions.
Put the telephone down—unless that's what you're using to watch.
Take your burden and deliberately place it before the Lord.
Then join me.
🎥 WATCH AND PRAY WITH ME HERE:
YOU DIDN’T JUST HAPPEN UPON THIS PRAYER
If you're sitting at your kitchen table—
pray.
If you're lying in bed—
pray.
If you're sitting in your automobile—
pray.
If you're in a hospital room—
pray.
If you're at work on a break—
pray.
If you're sitting somewhere alone and nobody knows what you're going through—
PRAY.
And if tears begin flowing, let them flow.
If all you can whisper is—
“JESUS, HELP ME...”
Then say it.
You don't need impressive words.
You don't need religious vocabulary.
You don't need to know how to preach.
You don't need to know fifty Scriptures.
YOU JUST NEED TO COME.
PERHAPS THIS ISN’T AN ACCIDENT
Maybe someone shared this blog post with you.
Maybe it appeared while you were scrolling.
Maybe something in the title caught your attention.
Maybe you don't even know why you're still reading.
But I believe there are moments in life when God arranges circumstances in ways we don't immediately understand.
We sometimes call them:
DIVINE APPOINTMENTS.
Perhaps this is one of yours.
Maybe God knew today was the day you needed someone to stop what they were doing and pray with you.
Maybe He knew exactly what you were carrying before you ever opened this post.
Maybe He knew you needed to hear someone say:
YOU DON'T HAVE TO CARRY THIS ALONE.
SHE SAID, “IF I MAY BUT TOUCH...”
There was a woman in Scripture who understood desperation.
For twelve years she suffered with an issue of blood.
She had suffered greatly.
She had spent what she had.
Instead of getting better, she had grown worse.
Then she heard about Jesus.
And something rose inside her.
FAITH.
“If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.” — Mark 5:28
Think about that.
She wasn't asking for a front-row seat.
She wasn't asking Jesus to stop the entire crowd.
She wasn't seeking recognition.
She had one thought:
“IF I CAN GET TO JESUS...”
She pressed through the crowd.
She reached out.
She touched His garment.
And everything changed.
MAYBE TODAY IT’S YOUR TURN TO REACH OUT
There is no magical power in a YouTube video.
There is no special power in my voice.
And James Langston certainly cannot solve every problem you're facing.
BUT I KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN MEET YOU RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE.
His name is:
JESUS CHRIST.
That's why I'm asking you not merely to watch the prayer.
Participate in it.
Bring your need before Him.
Name your giant.
Tell Him where it hurts.
Tell Him what frightens you.
Tell Him what you don't understand.
Tell Him what you've told nobody else.
God already knows.
But there is something powerful about finally opening our mouths and saying:
“Lord, here it is.”
JAMES 5:16 STILL SAYS PRAYER AVAILS MUCH
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
Prayer isn't our last resort.
PRAYER IS OUR PRIVILEGE.
Prayer reaches where our hands cannot.
Prayer enters hospital rooms.
Prayer crosses oceans.
Prayer reaches troubled homes.
Prayer reaches prisons.
Prayer reaches battlefields.
Prayer reaches frightened parents.
Prayer reaches struggling marriages.
Prayer reaches the lonely.
Prayer reaches the brokenhearted.
Prayer reaches someone sitting alone in front of a computer or holding a telephone and wondering:
“Does anybody know what I'm going through?”
GOD DOES.
And we're going to take it to Him together.
🎥 PRAY WITH ME NOW:
WHEN THE PRAYER ENDS—DON’T RUSH AWAY
When we finally say Amen, don't immediately return to scrolling.
Stay there for a moment.
Be still.
Think about what you just prayed.
And listen.
I prayed before sharing this that someone watching would sense the presence of the Lord in a way they haven't sensed Him in a long time.
Maybe that's you.
Your circumstances may not have changed during the prayer.
The bill may still be there.
The doctor's report may still be there.
The family situation may still be unresolved.
The answer you have been waiting for may not have arrived.
The giant may still be standing.
BUT PERHAPS SOMETHING INSIDE YOU HAS CHANGED.
Maybe there's a little more peace.
A little more hope.
A little more strength.
A little more courage.
A little more faith to put one foot in front of the other.
Sometimes that's where the miracle begins.
AND IF YOU DON’T HAVE A CHURCH HOME...
Please hear my heart.
This video isn't intended to replace the local church.
I encourage you to find a Bible-believing, Christ-centered church where you can worship, hear God's Word, pray, serve, grow, and fellowship with other believers.
But until you find that church—
KNOW THAT WE ARE PRAYING FOR YOU.
You may be hundreds or thousands of miles away.
We may never meet face-to-face this side of eternity.
But prayer doesn't require us to occupy the same room.
That's part of the beauty of the Body of Christ.
YOUR GIANT MAY BE BIG.
BUT GOD IS BIGGER.
Your road may be long.
Keep walking.
Your heart may be heavy.
Keep praying.
Your answer may not have arrived.
Keep believing.
Your strength may feel small.
Keep trusting.
And when tomorrow comes—
put one foot in front of the other again.
Because the same Jesus whom that woman reached for in the crowd is still the One we reach for today.
ONE MORE TIME—COME PRAY WITH ME
Maybe you've been reading this entire post while wondering whether you should click the video.
I'm asking you to do it.
Not for views.
Not for numbers.
Not to promote a YouTube channel.
DO IT BECAUSE YOU NEED TO PRAY.
Whatever you're carrying—
bring it.
Whatever giant you're facing—
bring it.
Whatever question you've been asking—
bring it.
Whatever has been keeping you awake—
bring it.
And let's take it before the Lord together.
🎥 YOU DIDN’T JUST HAPPEN UPON THIS PRAYER — WATCH & PRAY:
Perhaps God knew exactly where you would be.
Exactly what you would be carrying.
Exactly when you would need prayer.
And perhaps—
THIS IS YOUR DIVINE APPOINTMENT.
