WE ARE POMI: ONE MISSION. MANY NATIONS. COUNTLESS SOULS!

We Are Your Eyes, Ears, Mouths, and Feet in Asia—And We Invite You to Become Part of What God Is Doing!

From the heart of Pastor James Langston and the Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International family

Scripture Focus: Mark 16:15 | Matthew 28:19–20 | Romans 10:14–15 | Matthew 9:37–38

Dear Friends, Family, Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

There is an old saying that goes something like this: "You can't take it with you."

And that's true.

But I believe there is something even more important we should consider:

You can send something ahead that will last for eternity!

Every soul reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every child introduced to the love of God. Every family encouraged through a difficult season. Every Bible placed into someone's hands. Every person who discovers that Jesus Christ loves them and died for them.

These are investments whose value cannot be measured in dollars and cents.

And that, dear friends, is why Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International (POMI) exists.

Today, I want to do something a little different.

Rather than simply share another devotional, prayer, or appeal for assistance, I want to invite you into our world.

I want you to know who we are, why we do what we do, where God has brought us, where we believe He is leading us, and how you can become part of this extraordinary journey of faith.

Because POMI isn't simply about a pastor, a missionary family, or an organization.

It's about people. It's about compassion. It's about obedience. And above everything else, it's about JESUS CHRIST!

WHO ARE WE? MEET PILGRIM OUTREACH MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL

Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International is a full-Gospel, interdenominational Christian missionary and evangelistic ministry committed to fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

Our biblical mandate is found in Mark 16:15:

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Notice what Jesus said.

GO!

He didn't say to wait until the world came to us.

He didn't say to preach only where it was convenient, comfortable, or financially rewarding.

He didn't say to minister only to those who could afford to support us.

He said, GO INTO ALL THE WORLD!

That command has shaped our ministry from its beginning.

For approximately two decades, our missionary efforts were centered in Italy, where we worked to share the Gospel and encourage people in their Christian walk.

Then the Lord began opening another chapter.

On March 29, 2025, our missionary work in the Philippines began, and what we have witnessed since then has only deepened our conviction that the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few.

Today, our missionary vision reaches throughout the Philippines and, as God opens the doors, into other nations across Asia.

Our ministry's motto says it beautifully:

"YOUR FEET TO THE NATIONS!"

We also like to remind our friends and supporters:

"WE ARE YOUR EYES, EARS, MOUTHS, AND FEET IN ASIA."

Not everyone can travel overseas.

Not everyone can preach in a village, visit an impoverished family, help a struggling student, or participate in a missionary outreach thousands of miles from home.

But everyone can have a part in reaching someone for Jesus Christ.

And that's where you come in.

MEET THE PASTOR AND HIS FAMILY

{""}

My name is James Langston, and I have the privilege of serving as the founder and senior pastor of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International.

I'm not a celebrity preacher.

I'm not a wealthy businessman.

And I certainly don't claim to have all the answers.

I'm simply a man who was saved by the grace of God as a teenager in 1973 and has spent the years since learning what it means to trust Him.

I was born in El Campo, Texas, in 1958, and my spiritual journey was profoundly influenced by the prayers and faith of my great-grandmother and grandmother.

Their example taught me something that has stayed with me throughout my life:

Never underestimate what God can accomplish through the prayers of one faithful person.

In June 1976, I entered the United States Navy.

Over the next 27 years, I had the privilege of serving our nation in different capacities, eventually retiring as a naval officer in 2003.

Those years taught me discipline, leadership, perseverance, responsibility, and the importance of serving something greater than myself.

But no military assignment, promotion, or accomplishment could ever compare with the privilege of serving Jesus Christ.

And along the way, God blessed me with someone who has been beside me through the many seasons of our lives.

My wife, Cecilia.

We met in the Philippines on November 29, 1978, and were married on March 14, 1979, in Olongapo City.

For more than 47 years, we have shared the joys, challenges, sacrifices, and blessings of marriage and family life.

We have been blessed with six children and fifteen grandchildren.

Like every family, we've experienced seasons of happiness, heartache, uncertainty, laughter, and unexpected challenges.

We've learned that marriage requires commitment, family requires sacrifice, and faith requires trusting God even when the road ahead isn't entirely clear.

Our family is not perfect.

But we serve a perfect Savior.

And through all these years, one truth has remained constant:

God has been faithful!

Today, at 68 years of age, I have no intention of putting my Bible on a shelf, retiring from ministry, and waiting for somebody else to fulfill the Great Commission.

As long as God gives me breath, strength, and opportunity, I want to continue reaching people with the Gospel.

Because the need is simply too great, and eternity is far too important.

WHAT ARE WE DOING IN THE PHILIPPINES?

This is where our mission becomes very personal.

When people hear the word missions, they sometimes imagine large church buildings, impressive auditoriums, elaborate programs, and professionally organized events.

But missionary work often looks very different.

Sometimes it means sitting with a struggling mother who doesn't know how she will feed her children.

Sometimes it means helping a student who wants desperately to attend school but whose family cannot afford the necessary expenses.

Sometimes it means praying with someone who has lost hope.

Sometimes it means visiting a family whose home has been damaged by heavy rains and flooding.

And sometimes it means sitting beneath a simple roof, opening the Bible, and telling a handful of people about the Savior who loves them.

That's missionary work, too!

In the Philippines, our outreach has included evangelism, Bible teaching, discipleship, family assistance, youth encouragement, educational sponsorships, and practical demonstrations of Christian compassion.

We don't believe the Gospel should be reduced to words alone.

James 2:17 reminds us:

"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."

When someone is hungry, we want to help feed them.

When someone is hurting, we want to encourage them.

When a child needs an education, we want to help open that door.

And through it all, we want people to understand that the love we demonstrate comes from the love Jesus Christ first demonstrated toward us.

OUR SEVEN AREAS OF MISSIONARY OUTREACH

As we continue developing and expanding our work, our long-term missionary vision centers on seven major areas.

1. Church Planting and Evangelism

We want to help establish Christ-centered, Bible-believing congregations in communities where opportunities for Christian fellowship and discipleship may be limited.

Our desire is not simply to gather crowds, but to see people genuinely transformed by the Gospel and growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

2. Mobile Medical and Dental Outreach

We envision mobile medical and dental services capable of reaching underserved communities, particularly those where access to affordable healthcare is limited.

Imagine a family receiving needed medical attention while also encountering people who genuinely care about their physical and spiritual well-being.

This remains one of the important goals for which we are seeking resources and partnerships.

3. Adopt-a-School Programs

Education can change the direction of a child's life.

We want to assist schools and students through supplies, uniforms, educational resources, and practical support that helps children remain in the classroom.

4. Adopt-an-Orphanage Programs

Children who have experienced abandonment, loss, or serious hardship deserve to know that they are valued, loved, and not forgotten.

Our vision includes supporting orphanages and vulnerable children through appropriate partnerships, material assistance, encouragement, and Christian outreach.

5. Tent Revivals and Community Evangelism

We believe there is still a place for old-fashioned Gospel preaching!

Whether under a tent, in an open field, a village gathering place, or a church building, the message remains the same:

Jesus Christ saves! Jesus Christ heals broken hearts! Jesus Christ changes lives!

6. Youth Development and Community Facilities

Young people face enormous challenges, including poverty, discouragement, negative influences, and limited opportunities.

We want to help provide safe environments where they can learn, develop their abilities, receive encouragement, and discover their God-given potential.

7. Discipleship and Spiritual Growth

Our responsibility doesn't end when someone accepts Jesus Christ as Savior.

That's where an entirely new journey begins.

Through Bible studies, teaching, mentoring, prayer, and personal encouragement, we want to help new and growing Believers become spiritually grounded and equipped to share their faith with others.

Our goal is not simply to make converts. Our goal is to make disciples!

HELPING CHILDREN BUILD A BETTER TOMORROW

One area particularly close to our hearts is educational sponsorship.

What began with assistance for approximately fifteen students has grown to around thirty.

And we're believing God for the resources to help even more.

Our goal is to eventually assist 100 students.

The average sponsorship need is approximately $100 per student per month, depending on the student's circumstances and educational requirements.

For thirty students, that's approximately $3,000 each month.

For one hundred students, the potential commitment would be approximately $10,000 monthly.

Those are substantial responsibilities.

But behind every number is a child.

A real child.

With a name.

With hopes.

With dreams.

With a family that wants a better future.

And with a life that matters to God.

We're not simply helping children attend school. We're investing in the possibilities of their tomorrows.

And we invite you to help us continue.

CHRISTMAS 2026: OUR VISION FOR 500 FAMILIES

Another major undertaking is our annual Christmas outreach in the Philippines.

In 2025, we initially prepared to assist 100 families.

But nearly 200 families attended!

What a wonderful opportunity it became to share the joy of Christmas through singing, Bible teaching, prayer, fellowship, food, and practical assistance.

Our program included efforts to provide Bibles, toys, educational sponsorship assistance, school uniforms, and a Christmas meal.

For Christmas 2026, we're setting our sights on reaching 500 families.

Yes, 500!

Not because we're interested in boasting about attendance figures.

Not because we're trying to impress anyone.

But because every family represents people who need to experience the love of Jesus Christ.

This year's heavy rains, typhoons, and flooding have made the situation even more challenging for many communities.

Supplies can be harder to obtain, transportation can become difficult, and families already struggling financially often find themselves facing additional hardships.

That's why we're asking our friends and supporters to begin helping now rather than waiting until Christmas arrives.

A Bible. A meal. A school uniform. A toy. A word of encouragement. A prayer.

What may seem small to us can mean the world to someone else.

And we would be honored to have you participate.

WHERE ARE WE HEADED NEXT?

As we look toward the closing months of 2026 and beyond, we're preparing for another significant chapter in our missionary journey.

Our next extended missionary phase is scheduled to begin on October 31, 2026, with plans to spend approximately nine months working in the Philippines and the surrounding region.

We're also working toward the long-term goal of relocating our ministry's headquarters to the Philippines, where we believe we can more effectively coordinate and expand our outreach.

These plans require substantial prayer, careful preparation, faithful partnerships, and financial resources.

Our larger vision includes ministry facilities, transportation, educational support, medical and dental outreach capabilities, evangelistic equipment, and practical assistance programs.

We recognize that these goals cannot be accomplished through enthusiasm alone.

They require commitment.

They require sacrifice.

They require planning.

And above all, they require God's direction and provision.

But we also believe that the same God who opens a door is able to provide what is needed to walk through it.

We don't know every detail of what lies ahead.

But we're committed to taking the next faithful step.

HOW CAN YOU BECOME PART OF THIS MISSION?

Here's where I want to speak directly to you.

Perhaps you've been reading our ministry blog for months.

Maybe you recently discovered our ministry through a devotional, a social media post, one of my books, or a message someone shared with you.

Perhaps you're a pastor, a business owner, a professional athlete, an entertainer, a philanthropist, a retiree, a student, or simply someone with a compassionate heart.

Whatever your background, there is a place for you in helping us reach one more soul for Jesus Christ.

And there are several meaningful ways you can participate.

FIRST: PRAY FOR US!

Before asking for a single dollar, I want to ask for your prayers.

Pray for wisdom as we make decisions.

Pray for our health, safety, and strength as we travel and minister.

Pray for my wife Cecilia and our family.

Pray for the children and families we're serving.

Pray for the pastors, teachers, volunteers, and ministry partners working alongside us.

Pray that doors will open in communities where the Gospel is desperately needed.

Pray for the necessary financial resources.

And most importantly, pray that souls will come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

Matthew 9:37–38 reminds us:

"The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."

Never underestimate the importance of prayer.

Some of the greatest victories in missionary work begin on someone's knees thousands of miles away.

SECOND: JOIN WITH US IN FAITH!

We invite you to stand with us in believing God for the fulfillment of the vision He has placed before this ministry.

You don't need a passport to become a missionary partner.

You don't need to speak Tagalog, Ilocano, or another Asian language.

You don't need to stand behind a pulpit.

You simply need a willing heart.

Follow our ministry updates.

Share our messages.

Encourage someone who may be struggling.

Introduce others to our missionary efforts.

Help connect us with churches, organizations, schools, medical professionals, and individuals who may be interested in partnering with us.

And when you see an opportunity to help someone in your own community, don't overlook it.

The Great Commission begins wherever God has placed you!

THIRD: IF THE LORD LEADS YOU, PLEASE CONSIDER FINANCIALLY SUPPORTING OUR WORK

Now, I want to approach this subject carefully and sincerely.

We're not interested in pressuring anyone into giving.

We're not interested in manipulating emotions.

And we're certainly not going to suggest that sending money to our ministry somehow purchases God's favor or guarantees a financial blessing.

That's not what biblical giving is about.

The apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 9:7:

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

Giving should come from a willing heart, not a guilty conscience.

If the Lord has blessed you financially and you feel led to make POMI part of your charitable or missionary giving, we would be deeply grateful.

Whether your contribution is $5, $25, $100, $500, or another amount, every gift can help us continue the work.

Some may feel led to give once.

Others may choose to become monthly partners.

A church may decide to include us in its missions budget.

A business or organization may wish to sponsor a particular project.

A family might choose to help provide educational assistance for a child.

And someone with substantial resources may feel led to underwrite an entire outreach initiative.

Whatever the amount or frequency, we ask that you give prayerfully, responsibly, and willingly.

We're not asking you to give what you don't have. We're inviting you to consider what God may be leading you to share.

And whether you're able to give financially or not, please know that your prayers, encouragement, and willingness to share our mission are genuinely appreciated.

TO PASTORS, CHURCHES, BUSINESSES, AND PHILANTHROPISTS

May I extend a special invitation?

If you lead a church, Christian fellowship, charitable organization, business, or philanthropic foundation, would you prayerfully consider exploring a partnership with POMI?

Perhaps your church is looking for an international missionary effort to support.

Perhaps your company has a community outreach or charitable giving program.

Perhaps your organization has access to medical equipment, school supplies, educational resources, or other materials that could benefit the communities we serve.

Or perhaps you have experience in construction, healthcare, education, transportation, logistics, or nonprofit development that could help us move forward.

We would welcome the opportunity to discuss how we might work together.

Not every partnership needs to begin with money.

Sometimes a conversation opens a door.

Sometimes a connection makes a project possible.

Sometimes someone possesses exactly the knowledge, experience, or resources that a ministry needs.

And sometimes, what appears to be a small act of kindness becomes the beginning of something extraordinary.

WHY DO WE KEEP GOING?

I want to close with something very personal.

At 68 years of age, after 27 years in the Navy, more than four decades of marriage, raising six children, enjoying fifteen grandchildren, and experiencing more than fifty years of God's grace in my life, some might reasonably ask:

"Pastor, why don't you slow down? Why not simply enjoy retirement?"

And I understand the question.

But I also understand something else.

There are still people who haven't heard the Gospel.

There are still children who need help.

There are still families struggling to survive.

There are still men and women who go to bed each night wondering whether anybody cares.

And there are still souls who need to know that Jesus Christ died for their sins, rose again, and offers forgiveness and eternal life to everyone who believes in Him.

How can we simply turn away from that?

How can we become comfortable when so many are hurting?

How can we ignore the command of the Savior who gave everything for us?

Romans 10:14 asks:

"And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?"

That's why we continue.

That's why we pray.

That's why we travel.

That's why we serve.

That's why we ask others to join us.

Because one more soul is worth the effort.

One more child is worth helping.

One more family is worth encouraging.

One more community is worth reaching.

And one more person coming to know Jesus Christ makes every sacrifice worthwhile.

A PERSONAL INVITATION FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS

On behalf of my wife Cecilia, our family, and everyone associated with Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, I want to say thank you.

Thank you for reading our messages.

Thank you for sharing our ministry with others.

Thank you for praying for us.

Thank you to those who have already helped us financially and through practical acts of kindness.

And thank you to those who may be considering becoming part of our missionary family.

We know there are many worthy ministries and charitable organizations doing wonderful work around the world.

We don't claim to be the only ones making a difference.

But we do believe God has given us a particular assignment.

And we're doing our best to fulfill it faithfully.

If the Lord places POMI upon your heart, we would be honored to have you stand with us.

Pray with us.

Believe with us.

Walk with us.

And if God enables and leads you, give with us.

Together, we can help bring the Gospel and practical expressions of Christ's love to people who might otherwise be overlooked.

Because at the end of the day, our mission can be summed up in one simple sentence:

HELP US HELP THEM—ONE SOUL AT A TIME!

LET US PRAY TOGETHER

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the privilege of serving in Your Kingdom.

Thank You for every person who has prayed for this ministry, encouraged us, supported our missionary work, and helped us reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Lord, You know the needs before us.

You know the children who need an education, the families who need assistance, the communities recovering from hardship, and the countless souls who need to hear about Your Son.

We ask You to open the right doors, provide the necessary resources, and bring alongside us those whom You would have participate in this work.

Give us wisdom to steward every resource faithfully.

Protect our family, our ministry partners, and the people we serve.

Keep our motives pure, our hearts humble, and our eyes fixed upon Jesus Christ.

And Father, we ask that everything accomplished through Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International would bring honor and glory to Your holy name.

May souls be saved, lives be transformed, families be strengthened, and Your Gospel continue going forth throughout the nations.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray.

Amen and Amen!
