ONE MORE SOUL — BUT THIS TIME, WE'RE GOING

Two Weeks Ago, We Introduced You to the Man. Now Let Us Show You Where the Story Is Going.

A couple of weeks ago, we published a post called “ONE MORE SOUL.”

We introduced you to James Langston—not simply as the Senior Pastor and founder of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, but as a husband, father, granddad, Navy veteran, author, pastor, and missionary.

We told you about Cecilia.

We talked about family.

We talked about 27 years in the United States Navy.

We talked about a calling that began long before there was a ministry website, a missionary campaign, or a plane ticket to the Philippines.

And everything eventually came back to three simple words:

ONE MORE SOUL.

But something has changed since we wrote that story.

The calendar has moved.

The departure date is closer.

The planning is becoming packing.

The vision is becoming movement.

And very soon—

WE'RE GOING.

✈️ THERE COMES A TIME WHEN FAITH HAS TO PACK A SUITCASE

Talking about missions is easy.

Praying about missions is important.

Planning missions is necessary.

Fundraising for missions is essential.

But eventually there comes a moment when somebody has to go.

Jesus didn't say:

Think about all the world.

He didn't say:

Talk about all the world.

He said:

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” — Mark 16:15

That little word GO changes everything.

Going means leaving what is familiar.

Going means accepting inconvenience.

Going means exchanging comfort for calling.

Going means trusting God for things you cannot completely predict.

Going means looking at a place on a map and saying:

“Lord, if You want us there, we'll go.”

For Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, that place is increasingly the Philippines and Asia.

And the time for merely talking about going is rapidly disappearing.

🇵🇭 THE PHILIPPINES ISN'T JUST A DESTINATION

There is a difference between taking a trip and answering a call.

Tourists arrive with itineraries.

Missionaries arrive with assignments.

Tourists ask:

“What can I see?”

Missionaries ask:

“WHO CAN WE SERVE?”

We want to see children encouraged.

Students helped.

Families strengthened.

Hungry people fed.

Bibles distributed.

Believers discipled.

Churches planted.

Communities reached.

People prayed for.

The hurting reminded that somebody sees them.

And above everything else—

WE WANT PEOPLE TO MEET JESUS CHRIST.

Buildings matter.

Equipment matters.

Transportation matters.

Finances matter.

Plans matter.

But none of those things are the mission.

People are the mission.

👣 “YOUR FEET TO THE NATIONS” IS ABOUT TO BECOME VERY LITERAL

For years, Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International has used the words:

YOUR FEET TO THE NATIONS.

Those aren't merely words we thought would look good underneath a ministry logo.

They describe partnership.

Not everyone reading this can board an airplane and travel to the Philippines.

You have jobs.

Families.

Responsibilities.

Health concerns.

Financial limitations.

Commitments.

And God has given many of you assignments exactly where you are.

But missions has always involved two groups of people:

Those who go.

And—

those who help them go.

When you pray, you go with us.

When you share our work, you go with us.

When you encourage us, you go with us.

When you financially support an outreach, you go with us.

When you purchase one of our books, whose royalties support our missionary work, you go with us.

When you tell somebody else what Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International is doing—

you put another pair of feet underneath the mission.

❤️ AND YES, THERE IS A COST TO GOING

Sometimes ministry posts show the exciting parts.

The smiling children.

The church services.

The photographs.

The testimonies.

The answered prayers.

Those things are real.

But there is another side.

Going means leaving children and grandchildren behind for months at a time.

It means missing birthdays, family gatherings, ordinary conversations, and moments that cannot simply be recreated later.

It means long flights.

Different routines.

Unexpected problems.

Weather.

Transportation.

Expenses.

Fatigue.

Plans that sometimes change overnight.

And the reality that missionaries are still human beings.

We get tired too.

We miss people too.

We have moments when we wonder how something will work out.

Faith doesn't mean those realities disappear.

Faith means the calling remains greater than the inconvenience.

🙏 WHAT IF THERE REALLY IS ONE PERSON WAITING?

This question keeps coming back.

What if there is one person we haven't met yet whose life will intersect with this ministry?

One teenager who needs encouragement.

One mother who needs prayer.

One father who has nearly given up.

One child who needs help.

One believer who needs discipleship.

One family struggling through circumstances nobody else sees.

One person who has never clearly heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What if God has arranged circumstances so that our paths will cross?

Would that one person be worth going for?

We believe the answer is:

YES.

Jesus once spoke about a shepherd who had one hundred sheep and discovered that one was missing.

Ninety-nine were safe.

One wasn't.

And Jesus said the shepherd went after the one.

“What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine...and go after that which is lost, until he find it?” — Luke 15:4

God has never viewed people as statistics.

Neither should we.

🌎 BIG VISIONS STILL HAPPEN ONE PERSON AT A TIME

Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International has some enormous dreams.

Church planting.

Medical and dental outreach.

Educational assistance.

Orphan care.

Tent evangelism.

Youth ministry.

Discipleship.

Community outreach.

And a permanent ministry presence from which the Gospel and practical assistance can continue reaching people throughout the Philippines and Asia.

That is a large vision.

Sometimes an intimidating vision.

But we don't have to accomplish everything tomorrow.

We simply have to remain faithful today.

Help one child.

Encourage one family.

Pray for one hurting person.

Teach one believer.

Feed one hungry person.

Share one Bible.

Preach one message.

Reach one community.

Tell one person about Jesus.

And then—

LOOK FOR THE NEXT ONE.

📚 EVEN OUR BOOKS ARE GOING WITH US

More than forty books have now become another arm of this ministry.

Some address prayer.

Some encouragement.

Some Christian living.

Some difficult social issues.

Some history and prophecy.

Some subjects people would rather avoid discussing.

But every book has something in common:

Words can travel where the author cannot.

A book can enter a home.

A hospital room.

A prison.

A military barracks.

A classroom.

A church.

A phone.

A Kindle.

A country thousands of miles away.

And because 100% of our book royalties support our missionary and outreach efforts, every purchase helps written ministry support hands-on ministry.

The written Word helps us carry the spoken Word farther.

🔥 SO WHY ARE WE STILL DOING THIS?

Why, at 68 years old, after a 27-year Navy career, decades of marriage, six children, fifteen grandchildren, ministry, more than forty books, and enough life experiences to fill several lifetimes—

why not simply slow down?

Because somewhere there is still somebody who hasn't heard.

Somebody still needs hope.

Somebody still needs encouragement.

Somebody still needs help.

Somebody still needs prayer.

Somebody still needs Jesus.

And as long as God gives us strength—

WE'RE GOING.

🤝 BUT WE DON'T WANT TO GO ALONE

This is where you enter the story.

Maybe God hasn't called you to the Philippines.

Maybe He hasn't called you to become a missionary.

But perhaps He has called you to help send one.

Pray for us.

Share our ministry.

Tell your church.

Tell your pastor.

Tell your Sunday school class.

Purchase a book.

Support an outreach.

Give when God enables you.

And when you see one of our posts, don't assume somebody else will share it.

You may be the bridge between this ministry and the person God intends for it to reach.

One click.

One share.

One prayer.

One gift.

One conversation.

One person.

You never know where God will take it from there.

❤️ WHEN YOU SEE THE PHOTOGRAPHS...

In the months ahead, Lord willing, you'll begin seeing photographs from the Philippines.

You may see children.

Families.

Church gatherings.

Bible studies.

Outreaches.

Meals.

Communities.

Prayer.

Needs.

Victories.

And probably a few unexpected adventures along the way.

When you see those photographs, remember something:

YOU AREN'T JUST WATCHING OUR STORY.

If you prayed—

you're part of it.

If you gave—

you're part of it.

If you shared—

you're part of it.

If you encouraged us—

you're part of it.

If you purchased a book—

you're part of it.

If you told someone else—

you're part of it.

Because that's what Your Feet to the Nations has always meant.

🙏 ONE MORE SOUL

Two weeks ago, those words helped us introduce the man behind the ministry.

Today, they mean something more.

They are becoming a destination.

A departure.

A commitment.

An assignment.

A promise to keep going as long as God keeps opening doors.

We don't know the names of everyone we're going to meet.

We don't know every village we'll enter.

We don't know every need we'll encounter.

We don't know every prayer God will answer.

We don't know every obstacle we'll face.

And we certainly don't know everything God has waiting on the other side of the Pacific.

But we know enough.

Jesus Christ still saves.

The Gospel still changes lives.

People still need hope.

And somewhere—

there is still...

ONE MORE SOUL.

So we're packing.

We're preparing.

We're praying.

We're believing.

And very soon—

WE'RE GOING.
