🕯️ A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS—THIS WORLD STILL NEEDS CHRISTIANS WHO WILL SHINE!
You cannot complain about the darkness while refusing to turn on the light!
Every day, we hear about things that trouble our hearts.
Violence. Hatred. Dishonesty. Broken families. Corruption. Suffering. Spiritual confusion.
It is easy to become discouraged by what we see happening around us.
But Jesus never instructed His followers to surrender to the darkness.
He called them to shine.
In Matthew 5:14, Jesus told His disciples, "Ye are the light of the world."
And in verse 16, He instructed them to let their light shine so that others would see their good works and glorify their Father in heaven.
Notice something important.
Jesus did not tell His followers to draw attention to themselves.
He told them to live in such a way that people would glorify God.
THE PURPOSE OF OUR LIGHT IS NOT TO MAKE US LOOK IMPORTANT. IT IS TO HELP OTHERS SEE JESUS!
That distinction matters.
We can talk about Christianity without demonstrating Christlike love.
We can debate Scripture while neglecting those who are hurting.
We can condemn the darkness while failing to extend a helping hand.
But genuine Christian witness involves both truth and compassion.
It means standing for what is right without abandoning kindness.
It means speaking the truth without forgetting love.
It means remembering that every person we encounter is someone for whom Christ died.
At Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, our desire is to carry that light into communities where people need both spiritual encouragement and practical assistance.
But the same responsibility belongs to every Christian, wherever God has placed them.
Tonight, you may be the only person who notices someone else's pain.
You may be the only person who takes time to listen.
You may be the only person willing to pray with someone who feels forgotten.
Don't underestimate the importance of that moment.
A SINGLE LIGHT MAY NOT REMOVE ALL THE DARKNESS, BUT IT CAN HELP SOMEONE FIND THEIR WAY!
And remember, Jesus Himself is the true Light of the world, as John 8:12 declares.
Our responsibility is to reflect Him.
🙏 EVENING PRAYER: Father, forgive us when our words and actions fail to reflect Your love. Help us stand for truth, demonstrate compassion, and shine brightly in a world that desperately needs Jesus. Let our lives point others toward You. Amen.
BE THE LIGHT SOMEONE NEEDS TO SEE TONIGHT!
Your Feet to the Nations.
Help us help them—one soul at a time.
