77 DAYS LEFT IN 2026—500 FAMILIES STILL NEED OUR HELP!

Christmas Is Coming to the Philippines. Will You Help Us Make a Difference Before It's Too Late?

Scriptural Foundation: Matthew 25:40 (KJV)

"And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Additional Scriptures: Galatians 6:9–10; Proverbs 19:17; Acts 20:35; James 2:15–17; 2 Corinthians 9:7.

THE CLOCK IS TICKING—BUT THERE'S STILL TIME!

Seventy-seven days.

That's how much of 2026 remains after today.

And in just 71 days, Christmas will be here!

Another year will have come and gone.

Another Christmas season will arrive.

Families will gather.

Children will anticipate presents.

Churches will celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

And across the world, people will pause—some for a few hours, others for several days—to celebrate this wonderful season.

But while many of us are thinking about Christmas decorations, holiday meals, gifts, family gatherings, and travel arrangements, something else is happening.

Thousands of miles away, in communities throughout the Philippines, families are facing a very different set of concerns.

Will there be enough food?

Will the children have what they need for school?

Will the family recover from the damage caused by this year's heavy rains and flooding?

Will there be anything special for the children this Christmas?

And perhaps most importantly:

Will someone remember us?

My friends, that's where you and I come into the picture.

TWO COUNTRIES. DIFFERENT LIFESTYLES. THE SAME HUMAN NEEDS.

If you've never visited the Philippines, explaining the differences between everyday life there and life in the United States can be difficult.

I could spend hours describing the transportation.

The neighborhoods.

The markets.

The schools.

The roads.

The homes.

The weather.

The rural communities.

The tremendous contrasts between areas of prosperity and communities struggling to meet basic needs.

But unless you've actually been there, walked those roads, visited those homes, and talked with those families, words alone may not adequately communicate what life is like.

And frankly, I'm not going to attempt to capture all those differences in one blog post.

Because despite the differences between our countries, there's one thing that remains exactly the same.

People have needs.

A hungry child in the Philippines experiences hunger just as a hungry child in America does.

A mother worried about feeding her family experiences concern regardless of her nationality.

A father struggling to provide for his children carries burdens that don't disappear because he lives on the other side of the world.

A child who needs school supplies doesn't stop needing them because of the language they speak.

And a family affected by devastating floods doesn't become less deserving of compassion because their home is thousands of miles away.

Human need doesn't recognize national boundaries. Neither should Christian compassion.

OUR CHRISTMAS 2026 GOAL: 500 FAMILIES

Last Christmas, Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International (POMI) set out to assist 100 families in the Philippines.

That was our original goal.

We planned to provide practical assistance, including Bibles, toys, school-related support, uniforms, and a Christmas dinner.

We also wanted to create an opportunity for families to gather, enjoy Christian fellowship, hear the Gospel, and experience the love of Jesus Christ through the kindness of others.

But something wonderful happened.

Nearly 200 families attended!

Almost twice the number we originally anticipated.

There was singing.

There was teaching.

There was prayer.

There was fellowship.

And there was the joy of seeing families come together for an occasion that was about much more than receiving material gifts.

We were reminded that the needs were greater than our original plans.

And the opportunity to minister was greater as well.

So this year, we've set a much larger goal.

<escape>500 FAMILIES!</escape>

Five hundred families we hope to reach through our Christmas 2026 outreach.

Now, let me explain something.

This isn't about chasing impressive numbers.

It isn't about taking photographs and congratulating ourselves.

It isn't about creating another successful-looking ministry report.

It's about people.

Real families.

Real children.

Real needs.

And real opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Because when we provide a meal, we also have an opportunity to demonstrate compassion.

When we give a child a Bible, we have an opportunity to introduce that child to God's Word.

When we help with school supplies or uniforms, we have an opportunity to encourage a family's educational hopes.

And when we gather families for prayer, fellowship, and the Christmas celebration, we have an opportunity to remind them that Jesus Christ came into this world for people just like them—and just like us.

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW!

Here's the part I want every reader to understand.

Christmas preparations cannot wait until Christmas Eve.

We need time to gather supplies.

We need time to coordinate distribution.

We need time to make arrangements with our missionary workers and local contacts.

We need time to identify families and prepare the outreach activities.

And we need time to work around the challenges that come with transporting supplies throughout the Philippines.

This year, heavy rains, typhoons, and flooding have made some aspects of missionary work more difficult.

Road conditions can change.

Transportation can be interrupted.

Supplies may become harder to obtain.

And families already struggling financially can find themselves facing additional hardships.

That's why your assistance today is so important.

A donation received now gives us more time to plan and prepare.

It allows us to work toward purchasing needed items before the final holiday rush.

And it helps us determine how much assistance we can realistically provide.

We still have time. But we cannot afford to waste it.

WHAT DOES YOUR SUPPORT HELP US DO?

Our Christmas outreach is intended to provide several forms of assistance and encouragement.

Bibles and Christian teaching

We want families to receive more than temporary material assistance. We want them to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and have opportunities to grow in their understanding of God's Word.

Christmas gifts for children

A simple toy or thoughtful gift can bring tremendous joy to a child whose family may have little room in its budget for Christmas presents.

School supplies, uniforms, and educational support

Education remains an important part of our missionary efforts. Helping children with school-related needs can ease the financial burden on their families and encourage them to continue learning.

A Christmas meal and family fellowship

We hope to bring families together for food, singing, prayer, Christian teaching, and a joyful celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Practical compassion and encouragement

We also want families facing difficult circumstances to know that they have not been forgotten.

And I want to emphasize something else.

We don't want our outreach to become merely a seasonal event.

Our broader missionary work continues throughout the year through evangelism, discipleship, educational assistance, youth mentoring, humanitarian outreach, and practical support.

Christmas provides another opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ.

"BUT PASTOR, I CAN'T AFFORD TO GIVE VERY MUCH."

Let me speak to that concern.

Perhaps you're retired.

Perhaps you're living on a fixed income.

Perhaps you're raising children and stretching every dollar.

Perhaps you've recently experienced financial difficulties yourself.

I understand.

And I would never encourage anyone to neglect their own essential family responsibilities in order to make a donation.

But here's something worth remembering.

You don't have to be wealthy to demonstrate generosity.

Second Corinthians 9:7 declares:

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

Giving should never be driven by manipulation or guilt.

It should come from a willing heart.

Some people may be able to give generously.

Others may only be able to contribute a small amount.

And some may not be financially able to contribute at all.

But everyone can consider helping in some way.

You can pray.

You can share this message.

You can introduce our ministry to someone who may wish to become involved.

You can encourage a church, business, civic organization, or group of friends to consider supporting the outreach.

And if you're able, you can make a financial contribution.

No gift is too small to be offered with genuine compassion.

WE ARE YOUR FEET TO THE NATIONS!

One of the expressions we've used for years at Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International is:

"We are your eyes, ears, mouths, and feet in Asia."

Think about that for a moment.

You may never have an opportunity to visit a remote community in the Philippines.

You may never ride in a jeepney along a crowded roadway.

You may never travel through a small village where children are playing outside homes built with whatever materials families could afford.

You may never personally meet the mother who needs assistance with her children's schooling.

Or the elderly individual who needs encouragement.

Or the family trying to rebuild after severe flooding.

But through your prayers and support, you can participate in helping us reach people in those circumstances.

You can become part of the effort.

You can help us provide assistance.

You can help us share the Gospel.

You can help us encourage families who may otherwise feel overlooked.

And that's why our ministry motto means so much to us.

WE ARE YOUR FEET TO THE NATIONS!

Not everyone is called to leave home and serve on a foreign mission field.

But every Christian can consider how to participate in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Mark 16:15 declares:

"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Some go.

Some give.

Some pray.

Some encourage.

And many do a combination of these things.

Working together, we can accomplish more than we could individually.

DON'T LET THE CALENDAR MAKE THE DECISION FOR YOU

Seventy-seven days remaining in 2026.

Seventy-one days until Christmas.

Five hundred families we hope to reach.

And one simple request.

PLEASE HELP US HELP THEM!

If you've been considering supporting our missionary outreach, I encourage you to act now.

Not because we're trying to pressure you.

Not because we want you to feel guilty.

But because meaningful preparation takes time.

And because there are families whose needs are not waiting for the calendar to reach December 25.

The children who need school supplies need them now.

The families struggling after flooding are dealing with those difficulties now.

The people who need encouragement need it now.

And the opportunity to share the Gospel is before us now.

Galatians 6:10 reminds us:

"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

OPPORTUNITY!

That's the word I want you to remember.

We have an opportunity.

An opportunity to give.

An opportunity to serve.

An opportunity to encourage.

An opportunity to demonstrate Christian compassion.

And an opportunity to share Jesus Christ with people who need to hear about His saving grace.

Let's not allow that opportunity to pass unnoticed.

A PERSONAL WORD FROM THIS PASTOR

After years of missionary service, I've learned something that continues to shape the way I view our work.

You cannot solve every problem.

You cannot feed every hungry person.

You cannot provide educational assistance to every child.

You cannot rebuild every damaged home.

And you cannot personally reach every person who needs to hear the Gospel.

But that doesn't mean you should do nothing.

If you can help one family, help that family.

If you can encourage one child, encourage that child.

If you can provide a Bible to someone who needs one, do so.

If you can help someone remain in school, that's a meaningful accomplishment.

And if you can share the Gospel with one more soul, then you've had an opportunity to participate in something with eternal significance.

We may not be able to help everyone. But we can help someone.

And when enough people decide to help someone, wonderful things can happen.

Last year, we planned for 100 families.

Nearly 200 attended.

This year, our goal is 500.

Can we reach them?

With God's help, careful planning, faithful workers, and the generosity of people who share our concern, we're going to do everything we reasonably can.

But we need partners.

We need prayers.

We need people willing to share our appeal.

And yes, we need financial support.

Will you become part of this year's Christmas outreach?

A PRAYER FOR OUR CHRISTMAS 2026 OUTREACH

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for another day of life and another opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As we approach the closing weeks of 2026 and prepare for Christmas, we bring before You the families we hope to reach throughout the Philippines.

Lord, You know their circumstances.

You know the parents who are struggling.

You know the children who need assistance.

You know the families who have suffered through storms, flooding, and financial hardship.

And You know the burdens they carry that others may never see.

Father, give us wisdom as we plan.

Provide safety for our missionary workers.

Open doors for the resources we need.

Bless those who give, those who pray, and those who share our ministry's work with others.

Help us to be responsible stewards of every contribution entrusted to our care.

And above all, may our outreach bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ.

May families receive practical assistance.

May children experience joy.

May hearts be encouraged.

And may souls come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

In His precious name we pray.

Amen and Amen!

THE INVITATION IS SIMPLE

500 FAMILIES. ONE CHRISTMAS OUTREACH. COUNTLESS OPPORTUNITIES TO SHOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST.

We still have time.

But we need your help now.

Whether you give, pray, share this appeal, or introduce our ministry to someone who can assist, your involvement matters.

Please help us help them—one soul at a time.
