TWO POWERFUL BOOKS. TWO VERY DIFFERENT BATTLES.

CRUMBS from the Master’s Table (2nd Edition) and The Truth About A Lie (2nd Edition)

Sometimes what we need most is something from the Master's table.

At other times, what we desperately need is the ability to recognize a lie before we believe it.

Those may sound like two completely different subjects—and they are. Yet underneath them lies one common need:

We need the truth of God's Word to sustain us, guide us, correct us, strengthen us, and set us free.

Today, Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International is pleased to highlight two books by James Langston that approach that need from very different directions:

One speaks to the person who is hungry.

The other speaks to the person who must learn to discern.

And both point us toward the One who declared:

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32

CRUMBS FROM THE MASTER'S TABLE

What If a Crumb Is More Than Enough?

There is something extraordinarily powerful about the encounter recorded in Matthew 15.

A desperate woman comes to Jesus on behalf of her daughter. She refuses to walk away. She refuses to allow circumstances, appearances, or even an initially unanswered cry to destroy her faith.

Then she makes a remarkable declaration:

“Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.” — Matthew 15:27

Think about that.

She wasn't asking for the whole table.

She believed there was enough power in what others might consider a crumb.

That is faith.

And that is part of the heartbeat behind CRUMBS from the Master's Table (2nd Edition).

There are seasons when life leaves us spiritually exhausted.

We pray, but the answer doesn't seem to come.

We believe, but circumstances remain unchanged.

We know the promises of God, yet what we see around us appears to contradict everything we have been believing.

During those seasons, we may feel as though we don't have much left.

But never underestimate what God can do with what appears to be “just a crumb.”

A single Scripture can carry you through a night of despair.

One word from God can restore hope.

One answered prayer can change a family.

One act of obedience can redirect a life.

One moment in the presence of God can accomplish what years of human effort could not.

When it comes from the Master's table, even the crumbs contain more than enough.

FOR THE PERSON WHO NEEDS SOMETHING TO HOLD ONTO

CRUMBS from the Master's Table is for the person who needs encouragement for the journey.

It is for those learning that faith does not always require having every answer.

Sometimes faith simply says:

“Lord, whatever You have for me today is enough.”

Enough grace for today.

Enough strength for this battle.

Enough mercy for this failure.

Enough wisdom for this decision.

Enough hope for another morning.

Enough faith to take another step.

The world may call them crumbs.

But when they fall from His table, they carry the provision of the Master.

THE TRUTH ABOUT A LIE

Because Every Lie Wants to Be Believed

Now we move from the table to another battlefield entirely:

The battle for truth.

We are living in an age overflowing with information.

News.

Social media.

Videos.

Podcasts.

Artificial intelligence.

Political messaging.

Advertising.

Influencers.

Religious voices.

Friends.

Family.

Experts.

Commentators.

Everybody seems to have something to say.

But there is a problem:

Not everything being said is true.

And perhaps even more dangerous, not every lie sounds like a lie.

The most effective deception usually contains enough truth to make the falsehood believable.

That is why discernment matters.

THE FIRST LIE DIDN'T LOOK LIKE A LIE

The strategy is ancient.

In Genesis 3, the serpent did not approach Eve announcing:

“I have come to deceive you.”

Instead, he questioned what God had said.

“Yea, hath God said...?” — Genesis 3:1

That question still echoes through our generation.

Did God really say that?

Does the Bible really mean that?

Is Jesus really the only way?

Is sin really sin?

Does truth really matter?

Can't everyone simply define truth for themselves?

Different century.

Different technology.

Same old lie.

And behind deception remains the one Jesus described as:

“...a liar, and the father of it.” — John 8:44

That is why The Truth About A Lie (2nd Edition) matters.

It challenges readers to look beyond appearances, examine what they believe, recognize deception, and understand the tremendous consequences that can follow when a lie is accepted as truth.

A LIE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE BIG TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Some lies are enormous.

Others seem harmless.

But the size of a lie does not determine the damage it can cause.

Consider how many lives have been affected because someone believed:

“Nobody will ever know.”

“Everybody is doing it.”

“One time won't hurt.”

“I can stop whenever I want.”

“God doesn't care.”

“There is plenty of time.”

“I don't need God.”

“There is no consequence.”

One lie believed long enough can become a philosophy.

A philosophy practiced long enough can become a lifestyle.

And a lifestyle built upon deception can eventually become a prison.

That is why truth matters.

Truth may challenge us.

Truth may expose us.

Truth may make us uncomfortable.

Truth may require us to change.

But truth does something a lie never can:

Truth sets us free.

TWO BOOKS—ONE IMPORTANT QUESTION

At first glance, these books may seem unrelated.

One speaks of crumbs from a table.

The other speaks of truth and deception.

But look a little deeper.

Both ask us:

What are you feeding your soul?

Are you feeding upon God's Word?

Or are you consuming whatever the world places before you?

Are you allowing Scripture to shape what you believe?

Or are culture, social media, politics, entertainment, personalities, and popular opinion determining what you accept as truth?

The woman in Matthew 15 understood something our generation desperately needs to rediscover:

What comes from the Master's table is worth pursuing.

And Jesus gave us the other half:

Truth makes us free.

Put those two principles together and you have something worth carrying into everyday life:

Feed on what comes from God—and refuse to live on what comes from a lie.

BOOKS ARE ANOTHER MISSION FIELD

At Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, we believe books can minister far beyond the reach of a pulpit.

A book can enter a home where a preacher may never go.

It can sit beside a hospital bed.

Travel inside a backpack.

Cross an ocean.

Be handed from one person to another.

Remain on a shelf for years before someone discovers it at precisely the moment they need its message.

That is why our bookstore carries the secondary message:

Knowledge and Wisdom in Book Form.

These aren't books intended merely to occupy space on a shelf.

Our prayer is that they cause readers to think, question, examine, learn, grow, pray, and draw closer to God.

And when you purchase books written by James Langston, you are also helping support the missionary and outreach work of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International.

Book by book, message by message, soul by soul—the mission continues.
