PUT SOME FEET TO YOUR FAITH
The World Doesn't Need More Spectators—It Needs People Willing to Pray, Give, Go, and Get Involved
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” — James 1:22
There comes a moment when watching is no longer enough.
You have probably seen the videos.
Men and women walking through waist-deep floodwaters.
Families attempting to protect whatever possessions they have left.
Children being carried through water.
Motorcycles, homes, roads, farms, and communities swallowed by flooding.
Monsoon rains come.
Typhoons come.
Floodwaters rise.
Transportation becomes difficult or impossible.
Food prices increase.
Work stops.
Schools close.
Families who were already living close to the edge suddenly discover that the edge has moved underneath their feet.
When you watch scenes like these from the Philippines and other parts of Asia, you can respond in at least two ways.
Your heart can break with sorrow over what people are enduring.
Or you can stand in admiration at their remarkable resiliency.
I believe both responses are appropriate.
Because the suffering is real.
But so is the courage.
And after watching long enough, another question eventually has to be asked:
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
WHO ARE WE?
We are Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International.
We are a full-Gospel, interdenominational ministry with a simple but enormous calling:
Take Jesus Christ to people—and take the love of Jesus Christ with us.
Our motto says it plainly:
“YOUR FEET TO THE NATIONS.”
We don't believe ministry was designed to exist only inside four church walls.
Jesus said:
“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” — Mark 16:15
That word GO has shaped this ministry.
Go where people are.
Go where the need is.
Go where doors open.
Go where the Gospel is needed.
Go when it is convenient.
And sometimes—
go when it isn't.
Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International exists to help carry the Gospel beyond geographical, cultural, economic, and denominational boundaries.
LEADERSHIP THAT BELIEVES IN GOING
Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International was founded and is led by Senior Pastor James Langston, alongside his wife, Cecilia, and a leadership and ministry team committed to evangelism, missions, discipleship, compassionate outreach, and serving people wherever God opens doors.
Our leadership philosophy isn't complicated.
We don't want to simply tell people:
“Jesus loves you.”
We want our actions to help demonstrate that He does.
That means leadership cannot always take place from behind a desk.
Sometimes leadership wears boots.
Sometimes it gets wet.
Sometimes it travels.
Sometimes it carries food.
Sometimes it sits beside a hurting family.
Sometimes it opens a Bible.
Sometimes it prays with someone.
Sometimes it simply listens.
And sometimes leadership looks at an enormous need, recognizes that the resources currently available are insufficient, and still says:
“LORD, HERE ARE OUR HANDS. USE THEM.”
WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?
People sometimes ask what Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International actually does.
Our answer begins with one Person:
JESUS CHRIST.
We preach Christ.
We teach Christ.
We point people toward Christ.
We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ, and we believe the Great Commission remains just as urgent today as when Jesus first gave it.
But we also believe ministry must recognize the person standing in front of us.
A hungry person has a soul—
but they also have an empty stomach.
A sick person needs prayer—
but they may also need medical attention.
A child needs the Gospel—
but that child also needs education, protection, encouragement, and opportunity.
A family whose home has been damaged by flooding needs hope—
but they may also need food, clean water, shelter, clothing, or practical assistance.
Our desire is to minister to the whole person—mind, body, soul, and spirit.
FROM THE PHILIPPINES THROUGHOUT ASIA
The Philippines has become a major mission field for Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, with our vision extending throughout Asia as God opens doors.
When many Americans think about the Philippines, they understandably picture beautiful beaches, tropical scenery, wonderful food, smiling people, and extraordinary hospitality.
All of those things are real.
But there is another Philippines tourists may never see.
Communities struggling with poverty.
Families stretched by the cost of everyday necessities.
Students whose opportunities are limited by finances.
Homes vulnerable to severe weather.
Communities repeatedly affected by monsoon rains, flooding, and typhoons.
And people who somehow—
keep getting back up.
That resiliency is extraordinary.
But please understand something:
RESILIENCY DOESN'T ELIMINATE NEED.
Someone can be courageous and still need help.
Someone can smile and still be struggling.
Someone can rebuild repeatedly and still become exhausted.
Sometimes the strongest people you will ever meet are quietly praying that somebody will notice.
THAT IS WHERE OUTREACH BECOMES PERSONAL
Our vision for ministry reaches far beyond holding a church service.
We envision and pursue evangelism and church planting, Bible studies and discipleship, food and humanitarian assistance, educational support and student sponsorship, youth outreach, assistance to schools and orphanages, open-air and tent evangelism, practical help for struggling families, disaster-related assistance, and ultimately expanded medical and dental outreach.
Why so broad?
Because needs don't arrive one at a time.
A struggling family doesn't wake up and say:
"Today we only have a spiritual problem."
Life doesn't work that way.
Spiritual, physical, financial, emotional, educational, and family challenges often arrive together.
So when God enables us—
we help.
WE ARE YOUR FEET TO THE NATIONS
Many people reading this will never travel to the Philippines.
You may never walk through one of the communities where we minister.
You may never personally meet the students we help.
You may never stand beside a family recovering from flooding.
You may never participate in an open-air meeting somewhere in Asia.
But that doesn't mean you cannot go.
You can go through prayer.
You can go through giving.
You can go through sharing.
You can go through partnership.
That is why we often say:
“We are your eyes, ears, mouths, and feet in Asia.”
You help send.
We go.
And together—
we reach one more.
WHY SHOULD GIVING BECOME PART OF YOUR BUDGET?
Most of us budget for what matters to us.
Housing.
Food.
Transportation.
Utilities.
Insurance.
Entertainment.
Subscriptions.
Coffee.
Dining out.
Vacations.
Phones.
Streaming services.
And countless other things.
There is nothing inherently wrong with enjoying the blessings God has provided.
But here's a question worth considering:
WHERE DOES GENEROSITY APPEAR IN YOUR BUDGET?
Not merely emergency giving.
Not simply:
"I'll give if I have something left."
But intentional generosity.
A heart that begins each day understanding:
“Everything I possess ultimately belongs to God, and I want to remain available when He places someone in my path whom I can help.”
Jesus said:
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” — Matthew 6:21
Giving doesn't have to begin with a tremendous amount.
It begins with a willing heart.
Perhaps you deliberately set something aside regularly for missions.
Perhaps you decide that generosity will become as normal in your household as paying another recurring expense.
Perhaps every day you simply ask:
“Lord, is there someone You want me to help today?”
The amount isn't the starting point.
THE HEART IS.
STOP WAITING UNTIL YOU CAN DO SOMETHING “BIG”
This has stopped countless people from ever doing anything.
"If I had more money, I'd help."
"If I were wealthy, I'd give."
"If I had more time, I'd volunteer."
"If I were younger, I'd go."
"If my circumstances were different..."
Maybe.
But what can you do now?
You may not be able to feed a village.
Can you help feed one person?
You may not be able to sponsor 100 students.
Can you help one?
You may not be able to finance a medical outreach.
Can you contribute toward one?
You may not be able to travel overseas.
Can you pray for those who do?
You may not be able to give $1,000.
Can you faithfully give what God has placed within your ability?
The question isn't:
“What would I do if I had somebody else's resources?”
The question is:
“WHAT WILL I DO WITH WHAT GOD HAS PLACED IN MY HAND?”
IT'S TIME TO GET OFF THE FENCE
Anyone can say what they would do.
Anyone can talk about what they hope to do.
Anyone can wish they could do something.
But eventually—
SOMEBODY HAS TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP.
And that first step is yours.
Nobody else can take it for you.
You have to decide:
I will pray.
I will believe.
I will give.
I will share.
I will become involved.
I will stop merely watching.
A great preacher from generations past used to put it in wonderfully practical language:
“PUT SOME FEET TO YOUR FAITH.”
That's exactly what we're asking you to do.
FAITH THAT NEVER MOVES ITS FEET
James 2:17 says:
“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”
We aren't saved by our works.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
But genuine faith should produce something.
Compassion should move.
Love should act.
Faith should walk.
If I see somebody struggling and all I ever say is:
“Somebody ought to do something,”
I may need to ask whether God allowed me to see the need because—
I AM SOMEBODY.
DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE EMBERS GROW COLD
There is something else I've learned about people.
We can be deeply moved—
for a moment.
We see a photograph.
Watch a video.
Read a testimony.
Hear about a family in need.
Something touches our heart.
We think:
“I need to do something.”
Then the telephone rings.
Another video appears.
Dinner needs preparing.
Tomorrow's work demands our attention.
Life happens.
And slowly—
the thought fades.
The fire cools.
The embers grow cold.
So I'm asking you:
DO SOMETHING WHILE THE EMBERS ARE STILL HOT.
If God has placed this ministry on your heart tonight—
pray tonight.
If you can give—
give now.
If you can share—
share now.
If you want to become involved—
take the first step now.
Don't assume tomorrow will carry today's conviction.

Not because we believe everyone reading this should do exactly the same thing.
But because everyone can ask God the same question:

Then listen.
And when He answers—
put some feet to your faith.

Maybe it's sharing this message.

Maybe it's making missions giving a regular part of your household budget.

Maybe it's contributing toward our larger vision in the Philippines.
Maybe God is calling you to something we haven't even imagined.
But whatever your step is—
TAKE IT.
THE WORLD HAS ENOUGH SPECTATORS
We don't need another person sitting comfortably on the fence saying:
“Somebody should help.”
We need people willing to say:
“Here am I.”
People willing to pray.
People willing to give.
People willing to go.
People willing to sacrifice.
People willing to believe that what seems insignificant in their hands can become extraordinary when surrendered to God.
There are people on the other side of your obedience.
You may never know their names.
You may never see their faces.
You may never hear their stories.
But Heaven knows.
HELP US HELP THEM—ONE SOUL AT A TIME
We cannot help everybody.
But we can help somebody.
We cannot go everywhere today.
But we can go somewhere.
We cannot solve every problem.
But we can address the one God places before us.
And tomorrow?
We'll ask Him again.
“Lord, who's next?”
That is how ministry moves.
One prayer.
One gift.
One family.
One student.
One community.
One outreach.
One Gospel conversation.
ONE SOUL AT A TIME.
