HELP US HELP THEM: WHAT IF YOU WERE THE ANSWER TO SOMEONE’S PRAYER?
Somewhere in the Philippines, Someone Is Praying for Help
There are moments when words simply aren't enough.
You can say, “I'm praying for you.”
You can say, “God bless you.”
You can say, “I hope things get better.”
And all of those words can come from a sincere heart.
But sometimes God places us in a position where we can do more than pray.
Sometimes we can become part of the answer.
Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International has launched our GoFundMe campaign:
HELP US HELP THEM: HOPE FOR THE PHILIPPINES
And today, I'm not asking you merely to look at another fundraiser.
I'm asking you to look at the people behind it.
THESE ARE NOT NUMBERS. THEY ARE PEOPLE.
Behind every need is a face.
A mother.
A father.
A child.
A student.
A grandmother.
A family.
Someone wondering how they will make it through another difficult season.
Someone praying for food.
Someone praying for opportunity.
Someone praying for encouragement.
Someone praying that God has not forgotten where they live.
And somewhere else in the world, perhaps someone is praying:
“Lord, use me.”
What if those two prayers are connected?
What if someone is asking God for help while God is touching someone else's heart to give?
What if you are standing on the other side of somebody's prayer?
WE CANNOT HELP EVERYONE
That's one of the hardest realities of ministry.
We cannot feed everyone.
We cannot reach every family.
We cannot solve every crisis.
We cannot meet every need.
There have been times when the needs before us were greater than the resources in our hands.
And that hurts.
Because when you've looked into someone's eyes, heard their story, met their children, walked where they walk, and seen what they are facing, “We don't have enough” becomes much more than a sentence.
It becomes a heartbreak.
But long ago, we decided something:
We may not be able to help everyone—but we're going to help somebody.
And after that somebody?
We'll try to help one more.
And one more.
And one more.
THAT IS WHY WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP
Not because giving is fashionable.
Not because it's another campaign.
Not because we want to build numbers on a fundraising page.
We are asking because there is work to do.
There are lives to touch.
There are families to encourage.
There are young people who need hope.
There are communities that need the Gospel of Jesus Christ demonstrated not only through what we preach—but through how we love.
The Bible asks:
“But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?” — 1 John 3:17
Those words are uncomfortable.
Perhaps they are supposed to be.
Because compassion that never moves our hands eventually becomes little more than sentiment.
WHAT CAN MY SMALL GIFT REALLY DO?
Perhaps you're thinking:
“Pastor, I can't give very much.”
Then don't worry about giving very much.
Give what God places upon your heart.
$5 matters.
$10 matters.
$20 matters.
$50 matters.
$100 matters.
And if God has blessed you with the ability to give substantially more, that matters too.
Never underestimate what happens when ordinary people decide to do something extraordinary together.
A single drop seems insignificant.
But enough drops can fill a bucket.
Enough buckets can meet a need.
And enough people saying “I'll help” can change somebody's tomorrow.
BUT WHAT IF I CANNOT GIVE?
Then please don't turn away.
Pray.
Pray for the ministry.
Pray for the Philippines.
Pray for the families and communities we serve.
And then do something that costs absolutely nothing:
SHARE THIS CAMPAIGN.
Share it with your family.
Share it with your friends.
Share it with your church.
Share it with your coworkers.
Share it on Facebook.
Share it on X.
Share it on Instagram.
Share it wherever God has given you influence.
Because the person who cannot give $100 may know someone who can.
The person who cannot give $1,000 may know someone whom God has already prepared to do exactly that.
Never underestimate the power of one share.
BEFORE YOU SCROLL AWAY...
I want to ask you for sixty seconds.
Not sixty dollars.
Sixty seconds.
Stop.
Look at the campaign.
Think about the people.
And pray:
“Lord, what would You have me do?”
Then listen.
If He says pray—pray.
If He says share—share.
If He says give—give.
If He says become a partner—become a partner.
But whatever He places upon your heart...
Please don't ignore it.
Because somewhere in the Philippines, somebody may be asking God for help right now.
And perhaps, just perhaps...
God allowed this message to cross your screen because you are part of His answer.
HELP US HELP THEM
We are not asking you to carry the entire burden.
We're asking you to help us carry a corner of it.
Together, we can reach farther.
Together, we can help more.
Together, we can tell another hurting person:
“You have not been forgotten.”
Together, we can take the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ beyond words and put it into action.
One family.
One child.
One community.
One soul.
One person at a time.
