And we will not pretend that Scripture answers questions it does not answer.

Instead, we are going somewhere deeper.

We are going back.

Back before the modern State of Israel.

Back before the United States.

Back before today's Islamic Republic of Iran.

Back before the Roman Empire.

Back before Babylon.

Back to a man named Abraham...

and a promise.

From there, we will follow an extraordinary trail through Israel, ancient Persia, Jerusalem, world empires, the rebirth of modern Israel, America's evolving relationship with the Jewish state, the transformation of ancient Persia into modern Iran, today's Middle East, and the prophetic passages of Scripture that continue to raise remarkable questions about where history may be headed.

And some of what we discover may challenge what you thought you already knew.

“In light of what Scripture says, what should be happening in me?”

Throughout this journey, we will use three important words to keep our investigation grounded:

PROPHECY — What does Scripture actually establish?

POSSIBILITY — What conclusions reasonably fit the biblical and historical evidence?

SPECULATION — Where must we resist the temptation to claim more than God has revealed?

Sometimes we will find answers.

Sometimes we will discover that the answer isn't nearly as simple as we thought.

And occasionally we may have to say three words that are becoming increasingly rare:

We don't know.

That's okay.

Because this book isn't being written merely to tell you what to think.

It is being written to encourage you to think.

To open your Bible.

To examine history.

To question assumptions.

To separate Scripture from speculation.

To look at today's world with both eyes open.

And ultimately, to look beyond presidents, prime ministers, armies, nations, alliances, wars, and headlines...

to Jesus Christ.

The manuscript is now underway, with publication anticipated later this month or next month.

The story began thousands of years ago.

The headlines are being written today.
