🇵🇭🎄 CHRISTMAS 2026 IN THE PHILIPPINES — UPDATE #2
THE PREPARATIONS ARE MOVING FORWARD—AND WE NEED YOUR HELP TO BRING HOPE TO FAMILIES WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH
Christmas preparations are moving forward in the Philippines.
For many Filipinos, the Christmas season begins when the first “ber” month arrives—September—and continues through the New Year. Decorations begin appearing, Christmas music can be heard, families start making plans, and anticipation begins building months before December 25.
But Christmas 2026 is different.
Behind many of the decorations are families who have endured a difficult year.
Behind some of the smiles are worries.
Behind some of the celebrations are people quietly wondering how they are going to make ends meet.
And as Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International continues preparing for our Christmas outreach, one thought remains firmly planted in our hearts:
WE WANT THEM TO KNOW THEY HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN.
Not by us.
And most importantly—
NOT BY GOD.
THIS IS MORE THAN A CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY
It would be easy to reduce Christmas outreach to presents, food, photographs and a few hours of celebration.
That's not our vision.
Yes, we want to help with practical needs.
Yes, we want children to smile.
Yes, we want families to experience kindness.
Yes, we want to place something tangible into the hands of people who may have very little.
But if all we give them is something that can be eaten, opened, worn or used—
WE HAVE NOT GIVEN THEM OUR GREATEST GIFT.
The greatest message we carry into the Philippines this Christmas is still the message that has transformed lives for more than 2,000 years:
✝️ JESUS SAVES.
❤️ JESUS HEALS.
🔥 JESUS FILLS.
👑 JESUS CHRIST IS COMING AGAIN.
Christmas is ultimately about Jesus Christ.
And we refuse to lose Him beneath the decorations, presents, food and festivities.
SOME FAMILIES ARE ASKING A DIFFERENT CHRISTMAS QUESTION
For many of us, Christmas questions sound like:
“What should I buy?”
“What should we cook?”
“Where will we celebrate?”
“What should I get the grandchildren?”
But hardship changes the questions.
For a struggling family, the question may simply become:
“HOW ARE WE GOING TO MAKE IT?”
How do we buy enough food?
How do we take care of the children?
How do we recover from what we've already been through?
How do we handle another unexpected expense?
How do we celebrate Christmas when we're struggling just to handle everyday life?
Those questions are real.
And that is where ministry must become more than words.
“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”
—1 John 3:18 KJV
THAT IS WHERE WE WANT TO ENTER
Not as outsiders pretending we can solve every problem.
We can't.
Not as missionaries promising that we can meet every need.
We can't.
But we can do something.
We can pray.
We can go.
We can share.
We can give.
We can encourage.
We can distribute.
We can preach.
We can love.
And together, we can remind another family:
YOU HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN.
That sentence may mean more than we realize.
Sometimes people don't need someone to solve their entire life.
They need someone to show them that somebody still cares.
OUR CHRISTMAS PREPARATIONS ARE UNDERWAY
As we continue planning our Christmas 2026 outreach in the Philippines, our desire is to combine practical compassion with Gospel ministry.
That can mean helping provide food and essential items.
It can mean reaching children with something special for Christmas.
It can mean helping families who have experienced hardship.
It can mean praying with people.
It can mean placing the Word of God into someone's hands.
It can mean encouraging someone who feels forgotten.
It can mean telling a child that Jesus loves them.
It can mean sitting with a family and listening.
It can mean sharing the Gospel with someone who has never truly understood why Jesus came.
And it can mean introducing someone to the Savior whose birth the world is celebrating.
THAT IS CHRISTMAS OUTREACH.
Mind.
Body.
Soul.
Spirit.
The whole person.
WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THIS NOW?
Because meaningful outreach requires preparation.
You don't wait until Christmas Eve to begin asking how you're going to reach people.
People must pray.
Resources must be gathered.
Plans must be made.
Needs must be identified.
Supplies must be purchased.
Transportation must be considered.
Volunteers and ministry partners must be prepared.
And above all—
WE MUST SEEK GOD.
We don't merely want a successful event.
We want God's direction.
We want Him to lead us to the people He wants us to reach.
MAYBE YOU'RE THINKING, “I NEED HELP TOO.”
I understand.
When people hear about needs somewhere else in the world, one of the natural responses is:
“Why should I help them? I wish somebody would help me.”
That is a legitimate feeling.
And please hear this clearly:
WE ARE NOT ASKING YOU TO NEGLECT YOUR FAMILY.
We are not asking you to give money you need for food, housing, medicine or essential responsibilities.
We are not asking anyone to give out of pressure, guilt or embarrassment.
Christian giving should come from the heart.
But perhaps there is still something you can do.
Perhaps you can pray.
Perhaps you can share this message.
Perhaps you can tell your church.
Perhaps you can tell your Bible study.
Perhaps you can tell a friend.
Perhaps you can give $5.
Perhaps $10.
Perhaps $25.
Perhaps God has enabled you to do considerably more.
The amount isn't the first question.
THE FIRST QUESTION IS OBEDIENCE.
What has God placed upon your heart?
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE A SMALL GIFT
Five dollars may not seem significant.
Neither may ten dollars.
But missionary work has taught us repeatedly that small things become significant when people work together.
One person gives a little.
Another gives a little.
Someone else shares the message.
Another person begins praying.
A church gets involved.
A family decides to help another family.
And suddenly—
WHAT ONE PERSON COULD NOT DO, MANY PEOPLE HAVE MADE POSSIBLE.
The Bible says:
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
—Proverbs 19:17 KJV
What a promise.
God sees compassion.
God sees generosity.
God sees obedience.
ONE PRAYER. ONE GIFT. ONE FAMILY. ONE CHILD. ONE MORE SOUL.
This has become increasingly important to us.
We cannot reach everyone at once.
But we can reach one.
One family.
One child.
One student.
One community.
One person who needs prayer.
One person who needs encouragement.
One person who needs a Bible.
One person who needs to hear the Gospel.
And after reaching that one—
WE LOOK FOR ONE MORE.
That's how missions grows.
That's how compassion spreads.
That's how the Gospel moves from person to person, family to family and community to community.
WILL YOU BEGIN PRAYING WITH US NOW?
Before we ask you to give anything financially, we're asking you to pray.
Please begin praying now for our Christmas 2026 outreach.
🙏 Pray for the families we will encounter.
🙏 Pray for the children.
🙏 Pray for sufficient resources.
🙏 Pray for wisdom in distributing those resources.
🙏 Pray for transportation and logistics.
🙏 Pray for our ministry workers and partners.
🙏 Pray for protection.
🙏 Pray that every dollar and every item is used wisely.
🙏 Pray for open doors into communities.
🙏 Pray that the Gospel will be received.
🙏 Pray that someone will meet Jesus Christ.
And please pray that throughout everything we do—
JESUS REMAINS THE CENTER.

There are several ways.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING
The calendar is moving.
The preparations are moving.
And soon Cecilia and I will once again be on Philippine soil.
There is work waiting for us.
There are communities waiting.
There are ministry projects ahead.
There are children and families we haven't met yet.
And there are people whose names we do not know—
BUT GOD DOES.
Maybe somewhere in the Philippines right now, a mother is praying.
Maybe a father is wondering how he'll provide.
Maybe a child is hoping Christmas will still come to their home.
Maybe someone who has endured an incredibly difficult year is wondering whether anybody cares.
We may never know the prayer that was prayed before God sent us across their path.
But we want to be ready when He does.
THIS CHRISTMAS, LET'S TELL THEM:
YOU HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN.
And then let us tell them something even greater:
JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU.
JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOU.
JESUS CHRIST ROSE AGAIN.
JESUS CHRIST CAN SAVE YOU.
That is our Christmas message.
That is our missionary message.
That is our reason for going.
And with your prayers, faith, consistency and support, we can carry that message a little farther.
🇵🇭 ONE PRAYER.
🎁 ONE GIFT.
❤️ ONE FAMILY.
👧 ONE CHILD.
✝️ ONE MORE SOUL.
Christmas 2026 preparations are underway.
Will you help us bring hope to the Philippines?
