🇵🇭🎄 CHRISTMAS 2026: HELP US BRING HOPE TO THE PHILIPPINES
For Many Families, Christmas Isn't About Presents This Year—It's About Making It to Tomorrow
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” — Proverbs 19:17 (KJV)
Christmas preparations are already underway in the Philippines.
For Filipinos, Christmas isn't merely a December celebration. The Christmas season traditionally begins when the first “-ber” month—September—arrives, and the celebrations continue through December and into the New Year.
Christmas music begins playing.
Decorations start appearing.
Families begin making plans.
Churches prepare special services.
Children begin anticipating Christmas Day.
Homes that have very little are still often filled with tremendous joy.
There is something beautiful about Christmas in the Philippines.
BUT CHRISTMAS 2026 IS DIFFERENT.
For many families, the question isn't:
“What are we buying for Christmas?”
It is:
“HOW ARE WE GOING TO MAKE IT?”
WHEN SURVIVAL OVERSHADOWS CHRISTMAS
The Philippines has endured repeated natural disasters and severe weather events that have disrupted lives and livelihoods.
Families have faced flooding.
Communities have been damaged.
Travel has been interrupted.
Livelihoods have been affected.
Food and everyday necessities still have to be purchased.
Homes still have to be repaired.
Children still have to be cared for.
And life doesn't stop simply because Christmas is coming.
For someone struggling to put food on the table, Christmas presents aren't the priority.
For someone trying to recover from disaster, decorations aren't the priority.
For a mother wondering how she will feed her children tomorrow, Christmas dinner may seem impossibly far away.
For a father whose livelihood has been disrupted, the Christmas season can become another painful reminder of what he wishes he could provide but cannot.
THE WIND HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT OF THE SAILS OF MANY.
And that is precisely where Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International wants to enter.
Not merely carrying Christmas decorations.
Not simply carrying presents.
Not merely saying:
“Merry Christmas.”
We want to carry something infinitely greater.
HOPE.
And that Hope has a Name.
JESUS CHRIST.
JESUS SAVES. JESUS HEALS. JESUS FILLS. JESUS IS COMING AGAIN.
That is our message.
It hasn't changed.
The circumstances may change.
The economy may change.
The weather may change.
Governments may change.
Our resources may change.
Our plans may change.
But:
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” — Hebrews 13:8
That is the message we want families across the Philippines to hear this Christmas.
JESUS SAVES.
No matter how far someone has fallen, the Cross still reaches them.
JESUS HEALS.
There are wounds no bandage can cover—broken hearts, grief, disappointment, fear, trauma, loneliness, and despair.
Jesus is still Jehovah Rapha—the Lord our Healer.
JESUS FILLS.
There are empty places that money, possessions, entertainment, success, and even Christmas presents cannot fill.
Jesus can.
AND JESUS CHRIST IS COMING AGAIN.
Christmas reminds us that Jesus came.
The Gospel reminds us why He came.
And prophecy reminds us that He is coming again.
That's the message of hope we want to carry this Christmas.
WE WANT TO MINISTER TO THE WHOLE PERSON
At Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, our desire has never been simply to preach to someone's spirit while ignoring the person standing in front of us.
If someone is hungry, we care.
If a child needs help, we care.
If a family is hurting, we care.
If someone needs prayer, we care.
If someone needs encouragement, we care.
If someone needs to hear the Gospel, we absolutely care.
James asked:
“If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?” — James 2:15–16
Sometimes preaching the Gospel begins by sitting beside someone.
Sometimes ministry looks like a Bible.
Sometimes it looks like food.
Sometimes it looks like helping a child.
Sometimes it looks like praying with a frightened family.
Sometimes it looks like giving someone who has nearly stopped hoping a reason to smile again.
AND SOMETIMES IT LOOKS LIKE CHRISTMAS.
THIS YEAR, WE WANT CHRISTMAS TO SAY: “YOU HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN.”
Imagine what a simple act of kindness can communicate to someone who has endured month after month of hardship:
“Somebody remembered me.”
“Somebody cares about my children.”
“Somebody prayed for us.”
“Somebody on the other side of the world gave so that our family could have something.”
And then we have the privilege of telling them:
“WE CAME BECAUSE JESUS LOVES YOU.”
That's Christmas outreach.
The gift opens the hand.
Compassion opens the heart.
And the Gospel points the soul toward Jesus Christ.
We aren't interested merely in creating a moment that lasts until December 26.
WE WANT TO INTRODUCE PEOPLE TO A SAVIOR WHO WILL WALK WITH THEM FOR ETERNITY.
“BUT PASTOR, WHY SHOULD I HELP THEM? I NEED HELP MYSELF.”
I understand.
I really do.
Somebody reading this may be thinking:
“Why should I send money halfway around the world when I'm struggling right here?”
Maybe your grocery bill has increased.
Maybe you're living paycheck to paycheck.
Maybe you've got medical bills.
Maybe your rent or mortgage is stretching you.
Maybe Christmas at your own house is going to be smaller this year.
Maybe you're praying for someone to help you.
So when you hear us say:
“Please help us help them,”
your first thought may understandably be:
“I wish somebody would help me.”
I understand where you're coming from.
And please hear me carefully:
WE ARE NOT ASKING YOU TO NEGLECT YOUR FAMILY.
We are not asking you to give money you do not have.
We are not asking you to put yourself into debt.
We are not asking you to give because someone pressured you emotionally.
Biblical giving is not manipulation.
It is an act of faith, love, compassion, and obedience.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE MUCH TO BE A BLESSING
One of the greatest lies people believe about giving is:
“I don't have enough to make a difference.”
Who told you that?
Jesus once watched a widow place two mites into the offering.
Others had given far more.
But Jesus noticed her.
“For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had...” — Mark 12:44
God doesn't merely see the size of the gift.
HE SEES THE HEART BEHIND IT.
Maybe you can't give $1,000.
Can you give $100?
Maybe not.
Can you give $50?
Maybe not.
Could you give $25?
$10?
$5?
Could you pray?
Could you share this post?
Could you tell your pastor?
Could your Sunday school class participate?
Could your church sponsor part of the outreach?
Could your family decide that instead of buying one more Christmas item this year, you will help another family?
DON'T DESPISE WHAT LOOKS SMALL.
A small gift placed in God's hands can travel farther than you imagine.
GOD BLESSES OBEDIENCE
This brings us to Proverbs 19:17:
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
What an extraordinary statement.
When you show compassion toward someone in need, Scripture describes it as something the Lord Himself notices.
God sees compassion.
God sees generosity.
God sees sacrifice.
God sees obedience.
God sees the person who quietly gives without applause.
God sees the widow's mite.
God sees the cup of cold water.
God sees the grocery bag.
God sees the meal.
God sees the Bible placed into someone's hands.
God sees the child who was helped.
God sees the family that received encouragement.
And:
GOD ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES.
That doesn't mean we give to manipulate God into making us wealthy.
Christian generosity is not a business transaction with Heaven.
We don't say:
“God, I gave You ten dollars, so now You owe me twenty.”
No.
We give because we love Him.
We give because He first gave to us.
We give because someone else needs help.
We give because compassion should move us.
We give because Jesus taught us to care.
And we trust the outcome to God.
WHAT IF THE PERSON WHO NEEDS HELP IS YOU?
Then perhaps your gift this Christmas isn't money.
Maybe it's prayer.
Maybe it's sharing this appeal.
Maybe it's telling somebody about the outreach.
Maybe it's volunteering.
Maybe it's encouraging someone else.
Maybe it's simply saying:
“Lord, I don't have much right now, but whatever I have, I'm willing for You to use.”
Never underestimate what God can do with a willing heart.
Remember the little boy with five loaves and two fishes.
The disciples saw:
NOT ENOUGH.
Jesus saw:
MORE THAN ENOUGH WHEN PLACED IN HIS HANDS.
And thousands were fed.
CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT THE GREATEST GIFT EVER GIVEN
Before Christmas became shopping...
Before Christmas became decorations...
Before Christmas became parties...
Before Christmas became advertisements, sales, wrapping paper, trees, lights, and presents...
Christmas was about:
GOD GIVING.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son...” — John 3:16
God gave.
And because God gave, we have salvation.
Because God gave, we have forgiveness.
Because God gave, we have hope.
Because God gave, we have eternal life.
Because God gave, sinners can come home.
Because God gave, broken people can be restored.
Because God gave, Christmas means something.
CHRISTMAS IS THE STORY OF GOD'S GENEROSITY TOWARD A WORLD THAT COULD NEVER REPAY HIM.
Maybe that's why Christmas is such an appropriate time for us to give.
🇵🇭 HELP US MAKE CHRISTMAS 2026 DIFFERENT
This Christmas, Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International wants to carry a message of hope into the Philippines.
We want hurting families to know:
YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN.
We want children to smile.
We want families encouraged.
We want hungry people helped.
We want broken hearts prayed for.
We want Bibles opened.
We want the Gospel preached.
We want people reminded that disaster does not have the final word.
Poverty does not have the final word.
Loss does not have the final word.
Fear does not have the final word.
Hopelessness does not have the final word.
JESUS CHRIST HAS THE FINAL WORD.
WILL YOU PARTICIPATE IN OUR CHRISTMAS 2026 OUTREACH?
We're asking you to do three things.
🙏 PRAY WITH US
Pray for the Philippines.
Pray for families recovering from hardship.
Pray for children.
Pray for those who have lost homes, income, possessions, and loved ones.
Pray for our ministry team.
Pray for Cecilia and me.
Pray for wisdom.
Pray for protection.
Pray for resources.
Pray for open doors.
And above everything else:
PRAY THAT SOMEBODY MEETS JESUS.

Extend your faith of agreement toward this outreach.
Believe with us that God will provide.
Believe that doors will open.
Believe that needs will be met.
Believe that the Gospel will reach people.
Believe that discouraged hearts will hope again.
Believe that one family can be changed.
Believe that one child can be encouraged.
Believe that:
ONE MORE SOUL CAN BE REACHED.
❤️ GIVE AS YOU ARE ABLE
No gift is too small when placed into God's hands.
Whether you can give a little or a lot, give prayerfully.
Give willingly.
Give cheerfully.
Give because somebody matters.
Give because the Gospel matters.
Give because compassion matters.
Give because:
THERE IS A REAL PERSON ON THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR GIFT.
YOU MAY NEVER MEET THEM—BUT THEY MAY NEVER FORGET WHAT YOU DID
You may never know the child's name.
You may never enter the family's home.
You may never walk through their village.
You may never sit at their table.
You may never hear their testimony personally.
But someday in eternity, perhaps someone will walk up to you and say:
“YOU HELPED SEND THE MESSAGE THAT LED ME TO JESUS.”
Wouldn't that make every dollar, every prayer, every share, and every sacrifice worth it?
PLEASE HELP US HELP THEM
This Christmas, let's do more than say:
“MERRY CHRISTMAS.”
Let's help somebody experience the love behind Christmas.
Let's put food with our words.
Compassion with our preaching.
Action with our faith.
Love with our Gospel witness.
And Jesus at the center of everything.
ONE PRAYER.
ONE GIFT.
ONE FAMILY.
ONE CHILD.
ONE GOSPEL CONVERSATION.
ONE MORE SOUL.
A CHRISTMAS OUTREACH PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the greatest Gift ever given—Your Son, Jesus Christ.
As Christmas approaches in the Philippines, our hearts turn toward families whose lives have been affected by hardship, disaster, financial pressure, loss, and uncertainty.
Lord, remind them that they have not been forgotten.
Where there is hunger, provide.
Where there is grief, comfort.
Where there is fear, bring peace.
Where there is sickness, touch and heal.
Where there is discouragement, restore hope.
Where there is spiritual darkness, let the light of Jesus Christ shine brightly.
Father, touch the hearts of those reading this appeal.
Some can give financially.
Some can pray.
Some can share.
Some can connect us with others.
Some can do all of these things.
Show each person what You would have them do.
And Father, for the person reading this who is struggling themselves, please meet their need too.
Encourage them.
Provide for them.
Strengthen them.
Remind them that You see them just as surely as You see the families we are trying to reach.
Bless every prayer.
Bless every act of obedience.
Bless every gift.
Bless every person who shares this outreach.
Multiply what is placed into Your hands, just as You multiplied the loaves and fishes.
And when Christmas 2026 has passed, may we look back and say:
“LOOK WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE.”
But above all, let Jesus Christ be preached.
Let Jesus Christ be lifted up.
Let Jesus Christ be received.
And please, Lord—
HELP US REACH ONE MORE SOUL.
In the mighty Name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
