🌅 EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING

BEFORE THE WORLD GETS YOUR ATTENTION—GIVE GOD YOURS

Good morning.

Before you check the headlines...

Before you check Facebook.

Before you answer the emails.

Before the job starts demanding something from you.

Before somebody else's emergency becomes your emergency—

STOP AND GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF YOUR DAY.

We are living in a world overflowing with voices telling us what to fear, what to believe, what to buy, whom to hate, what truth supposedly means, and how we should live.

If you don't deliberately establish your direction, somebody else will gladly establish it for you.

Scripture says:

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:6

Notice the order.

ACKNOWLEDGE HIM. THEN FOLLOW HIS DIRECTION.

We have become remarkably good at making our plans first and asking God to bless them afterward.

That's backwards.

Before making that decision—pray.

Before sending that angry message—pray.

Before walking into that meeting—pray.

Before reacting to what somebody said—pray.

Before worrying yourself sick about something that hasn't happened—pray.

And before allowing today's news to convince you that everything is hopeless—

REMEMBER WHO IS STILL GOD.

The world is troubled.

God is not.

The economy may be uncertain.

God is not.

Governments change.

God does not.

People disappoint us.

God remains faithful.

Circumstances can change before lunchtime.

THE WORD OF GOD WILL STILL BE TRUE TONIGHT.

So walk into this Wednesday differently.

Don't merely ask:

“Lord, bless what I'm doing today.”

Ask:

“LORD, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE ME DO TODAY?”

There is a difference.

One asks God to follow us.

The other declares that we intend to follow Him.

Today, choose truth over popularity.

Character over convenience.

Prayer over panic.

Forgiveness over bitterness.

Obedience over excuses.

Jesus over everything.

And when God puts somebody in your path who needs encouragement, don't be too busy to notice.

Your assignment today may not come with a title.

It may simply be:

Help that person.

Call that friend.

Feed that family.

Forgive that offense.

Share your testimony.

Tell somebody about Jesus.

Don't waste today waiting for some enormous opportunity while stepping over the small assignment God placed directly in front of you.

YOU HAVE ONE WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2026.

You will never get this particular day again.

Use it wisely.

Use it prayerfully.

Use it for something that matters beyond today.

🙏 MORNING PRAYER

Father, thank You for another day. Before the world gets my attention, I give You mine. Direct my thoughts, words, decisions, attitudes, and steps. Keep me from compromising truth merely to fit in. Give me courage to do right when right is unpopular. Show me somebody I can encourage, help, or point toward Jesus today. Order my steps, guard my family, and use my life for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

TODAY'S DIRECTION:

DON'T ASK GOD TO FOLLOW YOUR PLANS. FOLLOW HIS.
