🌎 8,620 MILES AWAY—BUT NEVER BEYOND GOD’S REACH
Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International: Going Where Many Will Never Go, Reaching People Many Will Never See
There are approximately 8,620 miles—13,873 kilometers—between the United States and the Philippines.
That's a long way from home.
Across an ocean.
Across time zones.
Across cultures.
Into communities and places many of our friends, supporters, and readers will probably never personally visit.
Yet every mile becomes worthwhile when, at the end of the journey, there is one person waiting who needs Jesus Christ.
That is why we go.
That is why we continue.
And that is why today I want to invite you to become part of something that reaches much farther than any one of us could ever reach alone.
You may never go where we go—but together, we can still go there.
🇵🇭 WHY THE PHILIPPINES?
For Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, the Philippines isn't simply another location on a missionary map.
IT IS A CALLING.
God placed the Philippines upon our hearts years before we had the resources, infrastructure, contacts, or answers necessary to understand how everything would happen.
There were plenty of reasons to say:
“Not yet.”
We didn't have enough money.
We didn't have a church waiting for us there.
We couldn't see how everything would come together.
There were more unanswered questions than answers.
But faith doesn't always receive the entire map before taking the first step.
Sometimes God simply says:
“GO.”
And eventually you must decide whether you believe Him enough to put feet to your faith.
That is what we chose to do.
👣 WE GO WHERE MANY WILL NEVER GO
Some of you reading this may never travel to the Philippines.
You may never walk the roads we walk.
You may never enter the communities we enter.
You may never sit across from the people we meet.
You may never personally see the poverty.
The hunger.
The children needing assistance.
The families trying to rebuild after disasters.
The communities affected by typhoons and flooding.
The people who simply need somebody to sit beside them and say:
“YOU HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN.”
But we can go.
And when you pray for us, believe with us, and financially support this missionary work—
YOU GO WITH US.
❤️ WE MINISTER TO THE WHOLE PERSON
Our vision has never been merely to preach a sermon, shake someone's hand, and leave.
Jesus ministered to people.
He saw their spiritual condition, but He also saw their hunger.
Their sickness.
Their grief.
Their loneliness.
Their humanity.
We believe missionary ministry should likewise reach the whole person:
🧠 MIND
Through encouragement, education, mentoring, discipleship, and helping people see possibilities beyond their present circumstances.
🤲 BODY
Through feeding programs, emergency assistance, disaster relief, practical help, school sponsorships, uniforms, and other humanitarian needs as God provides the resources.
❤️ SOUL
Through presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and telling people plainly that salvation is found in Him.
🔥 SPIRIT
Through prayer, biblical teaching, discipleship, fellowship, and helping believers grow in their relationship with God.
We aren't interested merely in producing numbers for a missionary report.
WE WANT TO SEE LIVES CHANGED.
🙋 “DO YOU EVER GET WEARY?”
People have asked us that.
The answer is easy:
OF COURSE WE DO.
We get tired.
Sometimes frustrated.
Sometimes flustered.
Sometimes the needs appear much larger than the resources.
Sometimes you pray for something and the answer doesn't come when you expected it.
Sometimes plans change.
Sometimes transportation becomes difficult.
Sometimes weather interferes.
Sometimes doors you expected to open remain closed.
Sometimes you look at what needs to be done and wonder:
“Lord, how are we going to do all of this?”
Missionaries aren't machines.
We get tired.
BUT TIRED IS NOT THE SAME AS FINISHED.
✝️ THEN GOD LETS US SEE ONE LIFE CHANGE
And suddenly you remember why you came.
One person hears the Gospel.
One family receives desperately needed assistance.
One child receives an opportunity.
One discouraged believer begins believing again.
One hurting person realizes somebody cares.
One person who thought God had forgotten them discovers:
HE NEVER DID.
And occasionally God allows us the extraordinary privilege of watching someone's life change—not merely for a day, but for time and eternity.
Then those 8,620 miles don't seem nearly as long.
The tiredness becomes worth it.
The frustration becomes worth it.
The sacrifice becomes worth it.
The prayers become worth it.
The giving becomes worth it.
ONE SOUL MAKES IT WORTH IT ALL.
And after helping that one?
We begin looking for one more.
🙏 FIRST, WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS
Before I ask you for money, I'm asking you for something even more fundamental:
PRAY FOR US.
Please don't say, “All I can do is pray.”
Prayer is not all you can do.
Prayer is one of the most important things you can do.
Pray for protection.
Pray for wisdom.
Pray for provision.
Pray for open doors.
Pray for transportation.
Pray for our missionary workers.
Pray for the children and families we serve.
Pray for our building and outreach vision.
Pray for disaster-affected communities.
Pray that God sends the resources necessary to meet needs.
Pray that we never become so busy doing ministry that we stop listening to the One who called us into ministry.
And above everything else:
PRAY FOR SOULS.
When Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International comes to your mind—
please pray.
🤝 SECOND, JOIN YOUR FAITH WITH OURS
There are things we're believing God to accomplish that are considerably larger than us.
That's intentional.
If everything we attempted could be accomplished through our own strength, resources, intelligence, and connections, we wouldn't need much faith.
But missionary work repeatedly brings us to places where we must say:
“LORD, IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.”
We need people willing to stand beside us spiritually and say:
“We believe God with you.”
Believe with us for provision.
Believe with us for buildings and ministry facilities.
Believe with us for outreach.
Believe with us for children.
Believe with us for families.
Believe with us for communities.
Believe with us for the Philippines.
Believe with us for Asia.
Believe with us that no village is too remote, no need too difficult, and no person too far gone for the grace of Jesus Christ.
JOIN YOUR FAITH WITH OURS.
🌎 THIRD, BECOME A WORLD OUTREACH PARTNER
You don't need a passport to become part of missionary work.
You don't have to board an airplane.
You don't have to travel 8,620 miles.
You can become a World Outreach Partner right where you are.
Your regular financial support helps put feet beneath the vision.
It helps us go.
It helps us reach.
It helps us respond.
It helps us minister.
It helps turn “We wish we could help” into:
“LET'S DO SOMETHING.”
💵 WHAT DOES YOUR GIVING HELP US DO?
Financial partnership helps support missionary efforts such as:
Evangelism and Gospel outreach.
Discipleship and Bible ministry.
Feeding programs and food assistance.
School sponsorships and uniforms.
Emergency and disaster relief.
Helping struggling families.
Transportation into communities.
Church planting and ministry development.
Youth outreach.
Building programs and ministry facilities.
Practical humanitarian assistance.
And the continuing work of taking the Gospel farther into the Philippines and throughout Asia as God opens doors.
Every one of those ministries ultimately points toward the same purpose:
REACHING PEOPLE FOR JESUS CHRIST.
💡 “BUT I CAN'T GIVE VERY MUCH”
Then don't give very much.
Give what God enables you to give.
We aren't asking anyone to neglect their family or financial responsibilities.
We aren't asking you to give what you don't have.
And we're certainly not interested in manipulating anyone emotionally.
PRAY FIRST.
Then do what God places upon your heart.
Maybe that's $5.
Maybe $10.
Maybe $25.
Maybe $50.
Maybe considerably more.
Perhaps God enables you to give once.
Perhaps He leads you to become a regular monthly World Outreach Partner.
The amount isn't the only thing that matters.
CONSISTENCY MATTERS.
Imagine hundreds—and eventually thousands—of believers saying:
“I will carry my small part of this missionary burden.”
Nobody has to carry everything.
WE CARRY IT TOGETHER.
🛣️ YOUR GIFT TRAVELS FARTHER THAN YOU DO
Think about this:
You could be sitting in your home in America while something you gave helps someone 8,620 miles away.
You may never know their name.
You may never see their face.
You may never hear them say thank you.
You may never know on this side of eternity exactly how far your generosity traveled.
But God knows.
THAT IS KINGDOM PARTNERSHIP.
One person goes.
Another gives.
Another prays.
Another shares.
Another encourages.
And God takes all those individual acts of obedience and weaves them into something none of us could accomplish alone.
🌾 THERE ARE STILL HIGHWAYS AND BYWAYS TO REACH
Jesus said:
“Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in...” — Luke 14:23
There are still highways.
There are still byways.
There are still communities waiting.
There are still families hurting.
There are still children needing help.
There are still believers needing encouragement.
And there are still people who have never truly understood that:
JESUS CHRIST LOVES THEM.
We intend to keep going.
As long as God gives us strength—
we'll go.
As long as He opens doors—
we'll walk through them.
As long as somebody needs help—
we'll do what we can.
As long as somebody needs the Gospel—
WE'LL KEEP PREACHING JESUS.
❤️ WHY DO WE KEEP DOING IT?
Because every once in a while, after the long journey, the frustration, the expense, the unanswered questions, and the weariness—
God lets you see it.
A changed life.
A restored family.
A child smiling.
A prayer answered.
A believer strengthened.
A sinner coming to Christ.
And something inside you says:
“THIS IS WHY WE CAME.”
Then you remember:
One soul is worth the journey.
One life is worth the effort.
One eternity changed is worth more than we could ever calculate.
So yes—
WE GET WEARY.
But we haven't lost the vision.
We haven't forgotten the calling.
And by God's grace—
WE ARE NOT FINISHED.
🙏 WILL YOU GO WITH US?
Maybe God isn't calling you to move to the Philippines.
Maybe He isn't asking you to travel across the Pacific.
But perhaps He is asking you to help somebody who is going.
Will you pray for us?
Will you join your faith with ours?
Will you share our missionary vision with others?
Will you prayerfully consider becoming a World Outreach Partner?
And will you help us reach—
ONE MORE SOUL.
One more child.
One more family.
One more community.
One more village.
And then, God willing—
ONE MORE AFTER THAT.
Because although we may be operating approximately 8,620 miles from the United States, distance cannot stop prayer.
Distance cannot stop faith.
Distance cannot stop generosity.
And distance certainly cannot stop—
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.
🙏 OUR PRAYER
Father,
Thank You for calling us and allowing us to serve.
Thank You for every person who has prayed, given, encouraged, shared, and believed with Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International.
When we become tired, strengthen us.
When we become frustrated, remind us of the calling.
When resources appear insufficient, increase our faith.
When doors close, show us the door You want opened.
Protect our workers.
Provide for every outreach.
Bless the children and families we serve.
Send partners who will pray with us, believe with us, and help us carry this missionary vision.
And Father, whether across the street or 8,620 miles across the world, never allow us to forget why we go:
SO THAT ONE MORE PERSON MIGHT KNOW JESUS CHRIST.
Give us strength to keep going until the work You have given us is finished.
In Jesus' name,
