A $1.9 Million Vision—and a Faithful God
"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." — Ephesians 3:20
One of the questions I am asked most often is:
"Pastor James, what will it actually cost to establish Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International in the Philippines?"
It is a fair question.
The answer, however, begins long before we ever arrived in the Philippines.
On September 4, 2016, while spending time with the Lord, He impressed something upon my heart that I have carried with me ever since. This was five years after He first spoke to us about preaching the Gospel in the Philippines and nine years before Cecilia and I would finally set foot on Philippine soil as missionaries.
The Lord impressed upon my heart a figure that has never left me.

At first glance, that number seems impossible.
I remember quietly responding,
"Lord, You will have to do this, because there is absolutely no way I can."
Over the years, I have learned something about the Lord.
When He gives a vision, He already knows how He intends to accomplish it.
He rarely explains every step beforehand.
Instead, He asks us to trust Him, obey Him, and keep walking.
Looking back over the years, I have watched Him open doors that no person could have opened, provide resources we never expected, and place people in our path at exactly the right moment. Time after time, He has proven Himself faithful.
Today, we are living in the very nation He spoke to us about years ago.
Now the next phase of that vision begins.
More Than Buildings
When people hear a figure such as $1.9 million, they often imagine buildings.
But this vision is not primarily about buildings.
It is about people.
It is about reaching villages that have never heard the Gospel.
It is about providing medical and dental care where little or none exists.
It is about helping families recover after devastating typhoons and earthquakes.
It is about feeding hungry children.
It is about ministering in prisons, orphanages, halfway houses, schools, neighborhoods, and communities throughout the Philippines.
Buildings simply become tools that allow ministry to happen.
Lives are the real investment.
The Philippines Vision Plan
The figure the Lord placed upon my heart represents a projected ministry investment that will allow Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International to establish and expand the outreaches He has entrusted to us.
Total Projected Ministry Vision
$1,924,675.68
1. International Headquarters & Church Campus — $575,000.00
A permanent ministry headquarters that includes a worship center, administrative offices, classrooms, meeting areas, furnishings, technology, security systems, storage, and the infrastructure necessary to support every outreach of the ministry.
2. Revival Tent Ministry — $175,000.00
A professionally constructed 500-seat revival tent with sound systems, lighting, staging, seating, generators, transportation equipment, and everything needed to conduct evangelistic crusades throughout the Philippines.
3. Mobile Medical & Dental Outreach — $325,000.00
Two fully equipped mobile medical clinics and two mobile dental clinics converted from minibuses to bring quality healthcare into communities where these services are often unavailable.
4. Ministry Personnel Development — $275,000.00
Doctors, dentists, nurses, technicians, construction workers, cooks, drivers, security personnel, maintenance workers, administrative staff, and ministry training for those who will faithfully serve the people of the Philippines.
5. Christmas in October Outreach — $65,000.00
Each year we desire to bless 100 families with food for a Christmas meal, gifts for every child, a Bible for every household, and, most importantly, the Good News of Jesus Christ.
6. Orphanage, Senior Adult & Halfway House Ministry — $80,000.00
Providing practical assistance, fellowship, encouragement, discipleship, and the love of Christ to those who are often forgotten.
7. Prison Ministry — $50,000.00
Taking hope behind prison walls through Bible distribution, worship services, discipleship, counseling, and ongoing spiritual encouragement.
8. Street Evangelism Ministry — $65,000.00
Meeting people where they are through open-air ministry, personal evangelism, literature distribution, prayer, food assistance, and compassionate outreach.
9. Disaster Relief & Mass Casualty Response Team — $125,000.00
The Philippines regularly experiences typhoons, earthquakes, floods, volcanic activity, landslides, and fires. Our goal is to respond quickly with emergency assistance, practical supplies, compassionate care, and the hope found only in Jesus Christ.
10. Community Playground Initiative — $55,000.00
Restoring and constructing safe playgrounds where children can laugh, play, build friendships, and experience the love of Christ through community ministry.
11. Physical Fitness & Wellness Center — $75,000.00
Developing a fitness facility that promotes healthy living while creating meaningful opportunities for mentoring, discipleship, fellowship, and community outreach.
12. Community Basketball Court Initiative — $59,675.68
Constructing new courts and restoring existing ones to provide positive recreation for young people, build relationships, and create natural opportunities to share the Gospel.
A Vision Still Unfolding
What you have just read is not an exhaustive list of everything Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International hopes to accomplish.
It is only a glimpse.
It is a blueprint.
It is a vision that continues to unfold one prayer, one step of faith, and one act of obedience at a time.
Will all of this happen overnight?
No.
Great works for God never do.
But every church that is built...
Every child who receives a Bible...
Every family that finds hope...
Every patient who receives medical care...
Every prisoner who discovers forgiveness...
Every young person whose life is redirected...
Every soul that comes to Jesus Christ...
...will remind us that this vision was never about money.
It has always been about people.
It has always been about the Gospel.
It has always been about obeying the One who said,
"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
— Mark 16:15
We cannot accomplish this alone.
But together—with God's help, your prayers, your encouragement, and your partnership—we believe this vision will become a reality.
