RENEW OUR DAYS
"Restore us to Yourself, LORD, that we may return; renew our days as of old." — Lamentations 5:21
These words close a book written during one of Israel's darkest hours. Jerusalem lay in ruins, hearts were broken, and hope seemed distant. Yet amid the sorrow, a prayer arose: "Restore us."
The writer understood that true renewal does not begin with changed circumstances—it begins with a changed heart. The longing was not merely for better days, but for a restored relationship with God.
Many of us have known seasons when our prayer life was stronger, our faith more vibrant, and our walk with God more intimate. If life's burdens, distractions, disappointments, or failures have created distance, take heart. The God who restored then still restores today.
Revival begins when we turn our hearts toward Him. What seems broken can be renewed. What seems lost can be restored. What feels cold can burn brightly again through His presence.
Take a moment today and ask the Lord to renew your love for Him, strengthen your faith, and restore the joy of your salvation.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, restore me to Yourself. Renew my passion for Your presence, strengthen my faith, and draw me closer to You than ever before. In Jesus' name, Amen.
