🕊️ Thought for Today — January 26, 2026
We must face the world as it truly is—not as we think it is, and not as we wish it to be.
Scripture reminds us why this matters. Our perceptions, emotions, and assumptions are often unreliable guides when left unchecked. The prophet Jeremiah captured this truth with sobering clarity:
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
(Jeremiah 17:9)
This is not a message of despair—it is a call to discernment. When we rely solely on our feelings or personal interpretations, we risk confusing desire with truth and comfort with wisdom. God’s Word invites us to see clearly, think honestly, and submit our understanding to Him rather than trusting our own instincts.
Truth does not bend to opinion. Reality does not shift with preference. But God’s Word stands firm—unchanging, faithful, and trustworthy.
Today, let us ask the Lord to search our hearts, renew our minds, and align our thinking with His truth. Only then can we walk wisely in a world that often blurs the line between what feels right and what is right.
