It has often been compared to drinking poison and expecting the other person to suffer. Others have called it a “staph infection of the soul.” Either way, resentment is a silent destroyer. It damages mental and physical health, poisons relationships, and binds the heart in a spiritual prison. If left unaddressed, resentment becomes the root of bitterness. It distorts perspective, creates a critical spirit, fuels anxiety and depression, fractures marriages, and weakens our walk with God.
