What Your Prayers, Faith, and Giving Really Accomplish

Today is the 214th day of 2026.

For just a moment, I would like to ask you to pause.

Take a deep breath.

Slow down.

And reflect.

I know many of you are carrying burdens that few people know about.

Some of you are fighting battles in your body.

Others are exhausted emotionally.

Some are struggling spiritually.

Others are wondering how the bills will be paid this month.

Some are praying for broken marriages.

Others are carrying the weight of a difficult job, uncertain future, or overwhelming circumstances.

Life can become so heavy that we naturally focus on our own pain.

That's human.

But for just a few moments today, I'd like you to shift your attention halfway around the world.

To two teenagers you have never met.

Their names are Emilio and Rosamie.

Two Ordinary Teenagers

Emilio is fourteen.

Rosamie is fifteen.

In many ways, they are just like teenagers everywhere else.

They enjoy music.

They like to sing.

They dream about traveling.

They enjoy shopping.

They spend time playing online games.

They laugh.

They hope.

They imagine what tomorrow might bring.

From the outside, they appeared to be ordinary young people.

But appearances often hide painful realities.

A Secret They Were Carrying

Only a few months ago, both Emilio and Rosamie had reached a heartbreaking conclusion.

Each had begun considering suicide.

Different circumstances.

Different struggles.

The same hopelessness.

They had reached the place where they believed life no longer held any purpose.

Sadly, they are not alone.

Millions of young people across our world wrestle with depression, loneliness, fear, rejection, abuse, uncertainty, and despair.

Many suffer silently.

Many smile publicly while hurting privately.

Some never tell anyone.

Then Something Happened

Before those thoughts became irreversible decisions...

They heard about Someone.

Not another motivational speaker.

Not another celebrity.

Not another influencer.

They heard about Jesus Christ.

They heard about the One who forgives sin.

The One who heals broken hearts.

The One who gives purpose to the hopeless.

The One who promises eternal life.

The One who said,

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
— Matthew 11:28

The Gospel reached them.

Hope replaced despair.

Light entered darkness.

Life overcame death.

Today, Emilio and Rosamie have hope—not because their lives instantly became perfect, but because they met the One who changes lives forever.

Why Am I Telling You This?

Because you helped make that possible.

Perhaps you prayed.

Perhaps you encouraged us.

Perhaps you gave financially.

Perhaps you simply believed God with us.

Whatever your part may have been, God used it.

Every prayer mattered.

Every dollar mattered.

This Is What Missions Looks Like

Sometimes people wonder what happens when they support missionaries.

They imagine buildings.

Budgets.

Travel.

Supplies.

Those things are necessary.

But they are not the goal.

The goal is people.

The goal is Emilio.

The goal is Rosamie.

The goal is the next young person standing on the edge of hopelessness who desperately needs someone to tell them about Jesus.

One of the greatest lessons Scripture teaches is that faith is active.

God often changes us before He changes our circumstances.

Sometimes the miracle begins when we become willing to bless someone else despite our own struggles.

The widow of Zarephath gave first.

The little boy offered his lunch.

The widow gave two mites.

Each act seemed insignificant.

God multiplied every one of them.

The principle remains unchanged today.

When we place what we have into God's hands, He has a remarkable way of multiplying it beyond anything we could have imagined.

Not always in the ways we expect.

But always according to His wisdom and His purpose.

Be the Change

Our world desperately needs more people willing to become part of someone else's miracle.

Your generosity may provide a Bible.

It may support a missionary.

It may encourage a struggling pastor.

It may feed a hungry family.

It may sponsor a student.

It may help establish another church.

Or it may simply place the Gospel into the hands of another Emilio... or another Rosamie... before it is too late.

Never underestimate what God can do through one faithful act of obedience.
