No Filters. This Is What Keeps Me Going.

👟 No pulpit. No book promotion. No carefully arranged photograph.

Just life.

As I approach my 68th birthday, I've learned that staying active doesn't happen by accident anymore. 😄

So I keep moving.

I work out.

I run.

I work around the house.

I cut grass.

I get outside.

I write.

I read.

I study.

I spend time at my desk working on books, ministry projects, messages, and whatever else has found its way onto today's list.

And sometimes I simply step away from everything and enjoy being husband, Dad, Granddad—and James.

After 27 years in the Navy, decades of ministry, more than forty books, raising a family, traveling, preaching, writing, and experiencing enough life to fill several lifetimes, I've discovered something:

You don't stop because you're getting older. You adjust—and keep moving.

The pace may change.

The body certainly reminds you that you're not 28 anymore. 😂

But purpose doesn't have an expiration date.

I want to remain physically capable of going wherever God sends me, mentally sharp enough to keep learning, spiritually hungry enough to keep growing, and curious enough to still enjoy discovering what's around the next corner.

So this is part of my life people don't always see.

The workout.

The run.

The desk.

The books.

The yard.

The quiet prayer.

The thinking.

The planning.

The occasional sore muscle reminding me that yesterday's workout was apparently more enthusiastic than necessary. 😄

Nothing glamorous.

Just stewardship.

God gave me this life, this body, this mind, this family, this ministry, and whatever time remains ahead.

I intend to use them.

“They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.” — Psalm 92:14

I'm not finished.

There's still road ahead.

And by the grace of God...

I'm still moving.
