Every ministry has a story.

Every mission has a beginning.

Behind every sermon preached, every soul reached, every prayer offered, and every life touched stands someone who simply answered God's call.

For Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International, that servant is Pastor James Langston.

But long before he became a pastor, author, missionary, or ministry leader, he was simply a young boy growing up in a home that knew both hardship and hope.

A Foundation Built on Prayer

James Langston was raised in a single-parent home where life was often challenging, but faith was never absent.

One of the greatest influences on his life was his great-grandmother, Bertha Meriwether, whose faithful prayers left an imprint that would last a lifetime.

Long before he understood God's plans for his life, someone else was already praying for them.

Those prayers became the unseen foundation upon which God would build a lifetime of ministry.

At the age of fourteen, James surrendered his life to Jesus Christ.

That decision changed everything.

What began as a personal relationship with Christ gradually became a lifelong calling to serve Him.

Twenty-Seven Years of Service

In June 1976, James entered the United States Navy.

Over the next 27 years, he served his country with honor and distinction, retiring in 2003 as a Limited Duty Officer (O-3E) after a career that included leadership, communications, and managing complex, multimillion-dollar projects.

The military taught discipline.

Leadership.

Integrity.

Perseverance.

Yet throughout those years, another calling continued to grow.

God was preparing a shepherd.

A Pastor's Heart

For more than three decades, Pastor James Langston has faithfully proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

His ministry has always centered on the unchanging truths of Scripture rather than the changing opinions of culture.

His preaching is marked by biblical exposition, practical application, compassion for people, and an unwavering conviction that God's Word still has the power to transform lives.

Whether speaking from a pulpit, teaching a Bible study, counseling a hurting family, or writing a book, his desire remains the same:

Point people to Jesus Christ.

A Mission Beyond Borders

The ministry's name was chosen intentionally.

Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International reflects both the believer's identity and the ministry's mission.

As followers of Christ, we are pilgrims passing through this world, living for an eternal Kingdom.

That understanding has taken Pastor Langston beyond the borders of the United States and into international missions.

For approximately twenty years, the ministry served in Italy.

Today, God has opened doors throughout the Philippines and Asia, where the Gospel continues to be preached, churches are strengthened, believers are discipled, and practical needs are met in Jesus' name.

The ministry's vision extends beyond preaching alone.

It includes church planting, leadership development, evangelism, Christian education, humanitarian outreach, children's ministry, medical assistance, and equipping believers to become faithful disciples of Christ.

Every outreach shares one purpose:

Helping people know Jesus and grow in Him.

An Author with a Purpose

Pastor Langston is also the author of more than forty Christian books, covering subjects that matter deeply to today's world.

His writings address biblical discipleship, prayer, marriage, prophecy, current events, Christian living, leadership, human trafficking, personal responsibility, encouragement, and the challenges facing modern society.

His books are not written simply to inform.

They are written to transform.

Each one points readers back to the authority of God's Word and the hope found in Jesus Christ.

Whether discussing national issues or personal struggles, his goal is always to answer life's questions through the lens of Scripture.

A Ministry of Faith

Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International is a faith-based ministry.

That means every outreach, every mission trip, every Bible distributed, every family helped, and every new opportunity depends upon God's faithful provision through His people.

Pastor Langston often reminds supporters that ministry is never accomplished by one individual.
