💡 When Being Right Matters Less Than Being Honest

One of the hardest words for any of us to say is, "I was wrong."

Pride has a way of convincing us that admitting our mistakes somehow diminishes us. Instead, we defend ourselves, justify our actions, or even mislead others to keep uncomfortable truths hidden. But every attempt to protect our image comes with a price.

The longer we ignore the truth, the easier it becomes to lose sight of who we really are.

God never calls us to be perfect—He calls us to be honest, humble, and willing to repent. A heart that refuses correction cannot grow, but a heart that welcomes truth is transformed.

Someone wisely said,
"I'd rather you tell me I'm wrong than God have to show me I'm wrong."

There is profound wisdom in those words. Loving correction today can spare us painful consequences tomorrow. Proverbs reminds us that faithful are the wounds of a friend, while flattery often leads us astray.

None of us enjoys being corrected. Yet one of the greatest signs of spiritual maturity is the willingness to listen, learn, change, and make things right.

Don't let pride write your story. Let truth shape your character, grace guide your steps, and Christ transform your heart.

Choose humility over image. Truth over deception. Repentance over regret.
