Who is James Langston?

James Langston is a retired U.S. Navy veteran, Christian author, missionary, and Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Outreach Ministries International. After serving his country for 27 years, he answered an even greater calling—to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever God opens the door.

Over the years, the Lord has led him to minister in Italy, the Philippines, and throughout Asia, preaching the Gospel, encouraging pastors, discipling believers, helping families, and sharing the hope found only in Jesus Christ.

Recently someone asked, "Why are you operating a ministry outside the United States? Don't we need the Gospel here too?"

The answer is simple:

"Where He leads me, I will follow."

God's calling is not determined by geography but by obedience. The Great Commission is to go into all the world, and every servant of God has an assignment. Some are called to their neighborhood. Others to distant nations. Both are equally important when God is directing the work.

Here's a truth I've learned:

You can be successful in the eyes of others and unsuccessful in the eyes of God.

You can also appear unsuccessful in the eyes of the world while faithfully accomplishing exactly what God has called you to do.

The applause of people fades. The approval of God lasts forever.

As for James Langston and his family, they stand with Joshua's timeless declaration:

"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15)
