WHEN THE MONEY RUNS OUT, GOD DOESN'T

Financial instability is real. Many families are living paycheck to paycheck. Some are carrying debt. Others are one unexpected expense away from a crisis. That means less money for bills, groceries, emergencies, vacations, and even supporting ministries. I understand. We live in a wealthy nation, but many people never experience that wealth firsthand.

So what do you do when the pressure feels overwhelming?

First, talk to the Lord.

Be honest about where you are, what you're facing, and what you need. But before presenting your list of requests, ask Him to search your heart. Invite Him to reveal anything that should not be there. When the heart is right, the mind is better prepared to receive His direction.

Then, praise Him.

You may ask, "What do I have to praise God for?" You're alive. You're breathing. You're reading this right now. Those blessings alone are reasons to give thanks.

Next, bring your needs before Him and ask Him to help you leave them at His feet. Give Him the stress, worry, fear, doubt, and uncertainty. Ask Him to replace them with His peace, wisdom, faith, joy, and guidance.

When you do this sincerely, something begins to change. The circumstances may not change immediately, but your spirit will. There is a release that comes from trusting God with what you cannot carry alone.

And don't let that moment with God be your last. Spend time in His presence every day. If you don't make time for Him, you'll never find time for Him.

c"Cast thy burden upon the Lord ... " — Psalm 55:22
